Embark on a journey of artistry and dedication as we explore Wharenui Harikoa, a magnificent crocheted wharenui by Lissy (Ngāti Hine, Ngāti Kahu) and Rudi Robinson-Cole (Te Arawa, Ngāti Pāoa)! I attended the opening day and sat with the work for several hours, capturing these vignettes.
This is the culmination of a 5-year project by Lissy and Rudi, which explores love, loss, and compassion through the craftsmanship of 5000 balls of custom fluoro New Zealand wool.
