I dont get that thing in the UK, where you buy an apartment and apparantly there is still some sort of lease, and also even though you bought it, you still have to pay rent (600 a month and 2400 a year) Like wtf?

It’s an English thing. It doesn’t exist elsewhere in the UK. The land is owned by someone else and you own the property. But you have to pay for maintenance to the building and communal facilities and a rent for the land. It’s stupid and should be illegal.

Thanks for all your answers, do you guys know whats up with the lease? Like when you buy it in this case for ca 1000000€ Do you (or your kids) have to give it back when the lease expires? Or re buy it or pay money for a new lease or something. Because if so, you house is kinda losing value isnt it? I mean you probably cant sell it very well in 80 years when there is only a 20 year lease on it left.

@@ingenium7135 leasehold properties - usually flats - are found all over England and yes, once the lease has only a few years left, you have to buy an extension to it. Mortgage lenders are very concerned with the length of time remaining on leases, making some flats hard to sell.

Welcome to my manor! Lovely part of Norf London! Nice and Clean, very green , mixed community and loads of restaurants - 20 min drive and your in town if you know all the back streets. The area has some stunning houses and apartments.Great vid nice pad! Thank you once again! Keep them coming!!

@@kai-uz7qy leasehold is nothing to do with that. Leasehold properties are typically apartments. The land is owned by a freeholder, the property is owned by a leaseholder. You pay rent for the ground and you pay your mortgage or buy the flat outright. It’s because apartments and flats have shared responsibility for the overall maintenance of the building. Managing agents typically deal with the lease and maintenance on behalf of the freeholder. It’s basically a money making scam for rich landowners. The government are constantly making changes to legislation so that leaseholders aren’t screwed over like they are currently. I own a leasehold property, my freeholder is a scammer... hoping for more legislation change so that I can extend the lease by 100 years instead of the 20 years that he wants to charge £10k for.

You don't own the apartment at the end. 107 years lease... well, not going to live that long anyway. The ceiling of the penthouse is not high.

This is right up my street etc............"Love" the grey.......and the "tone/s" of grey etc.............there,s "nothing" i,d change here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!..,,,Great look and "cosy" lived in feeling to..........Also "great" to entertain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! not "too" many lights in the ceiling like some places just kept to minimal etc...............nothing too arty/farty here..............."JUST" right!!!!!!!!!!!!! 10/10..........i,d buy it as it is.........if funds allowed.................Good luck to who ever gets it........................Matt/summer another "Great" tour............Love these two.............Look forward to the next one......................

Damn imagine earning that much money to be able to afford the £3.2k/month rent. Just for the rent you'd need to earn £51k/year (pre tax)... So you'd probably need to earn over £100k/year
