I was aware of Dr. Who since my youth in the early 80's. I didn't watch it much at the time but friends and siblings would occasionally. When I heard it was going to be relaunched, I sought out the original run and watched as much as I was able, in order and from the beginning. I loved Hartnell and Pertwee, and I know it's an unpopular opinion but I didn't care for Tom Baker. I've seen Tennet in enough things to appreciate his talent as an actor, but he's not my favourite Doctor, even just of the new run. Having said that, there are some great and well written episodes of his time. I'm wishing you started from the new first series, but nonetheless I am interested to see you react to this as you go on from here.

Writing in S1 was better than S2

Yeah, I'm not sure what "genius" decided to not make them watch series 1.

These guys think because it’s about time travel everything will magically make sense if they watch out of order, are you really surprised that they skipped season 1? I mean, they might get a little frustrated by the time they get to the heavy plot stuff I’m season 3 and 4 but if we insist on watching them then we just have to deal with it and try to explain stuff where we can and resist pulling out hair out in pure annoyance. It’s like watching people who decide to watch the fan videos first to decide if the show is worth watching then realize they don’t understand diddly squat and commenters have to write novels just to explain every single important thing they could learn themselves by watching the show as it was meant to be watched. We just have to be patient with the people who don’t understand Doctor Who yet and why this will eventually be a bad idea. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Definitely agree on watching season 1 even if it's not for the channel.

I met him first in Harry Potter, 2nd as the main villain in Jessica Jones season 1 and then 3rd and my favorite of his appearances, Doctor Who

@@sirvictorgreenblade9469 The sci-fi and fantasy stuff is fun, but where he really shows off his chops is in the dramas. His performance as a volatile head trauma victim (Recovery) is astonishing. And each of the real life persons he's played are terrific, and each completely different, as is Alec Hardy in Broadchurch. Gay English scientist, Arthur Eddington (Einstein and Eddington), Scottish psychiatrist JD Laing (Mad to be Normal), Welsh assistant manager of the Manchester United, Jimmy Murphy (United), Scottish serial killer Dennis Nilsen (Des), dying Russian spy Alexander Litvinenko (Litvinenk). In the latter he speaks a mixture of accented English and Russian. He's remarkable, really.

It's also worth mentioning that if you go in order and don't skip episodes, you'll probably get more people watching, because probably most people looking for Doctor Who reactions want that experience, not just random episodes here and there.

Seems I wrote this at 3 o'clock in the morning. Now that I'm (almost) fully awake, I want to add my favourite to watch this season. I believe Josh is going to let you watch 'New Earth', for certain there will be 'Tooth and Claw' because "spoilers". 'The Girl in the Fireplace' is a fan-favorite, and I like 'Rise of the Cyberman' because of "spoilers". But my favorite, that almost everyone hate, is 'Love & Monsters' cause it's that kind of episode that you either love to hate, or just love because Elton ... well. And 'Doomsday', yup, that will finish you ... eh, the season off. (also every episode that I mentioned that is from a two-parter, you obviously have to watch both, but I know you will want too) I'm already excited for you guys.

@@obiwankenobi687 I'm sure they will see enough of series 2 cause they are intrigued by David Tennant. And their viewing goes up everytime they post a Doctor Who reaction so there's that. And at some point, they just might be wanting to see what series 1 was all about, not yet, they are not captivated enough, but they will be at one point, they always do. And there's always Josh. I don't know who he is, but Josh got them to react to something they had zero interest in. That happened! So we'll see.

@@channyh.221B but when you start a show… you start from the beginning. Starting from series 2 makes absolutely no sense. It’s like starting Star Wars from attack of the clones, or empire strikes back. Or watching the mandalorian series 2 without actually bothering to see series 1. I can’t get my head around how nonsensical this is. Just go back to the beginning

@@obiwankenobi687 I believe you are overreacting. This is the only show you can actually watch in a different order, just because it's all about time travel. You might miss some epic 'oh wow' moment, and I for one am glad I've watched it in the right order, but I have known people who didn't and guess what, in the end, they survived! (and also ended up watching series 1). There's no point in to trying to grasp this, if you can't understand that, it's okay. But it's not The End Of The World .... that's just a Doctor Who episode.

But what is the point, how can you watch a show by zipping back and forth between episodes and seasons?
