She's on benzos, in some form or another, Valium, Xanax, klonopin or one of the other variations and names. She shows all the signs of a benzodiazepine user, the cotton mouth, dilated pupils, disconnected eye contact, not blinking completely, and slow speech with mumblings. Nothing is more frustrating than dealing with people who use this drug, it's value as medicine versus the impact on the user's motor skills and cognitive abilities is drastic. Even in low doses it can pretty much render someone so disconnected from the reality of the moment. I'm sure there is a very small fraction of people who really need this drug but it is over prescribed and nothing is more frustrating than dealing with people like this. You can have a more productive conversation with a rock.

That's because libertarianism is virtually antithetical to politics...Certainly to something collective like a party
@kev3d
@kev3d 2 жыл бұрын
I suspect this is the case because of the inherent paradox of someone who wants to use political power to rid the system of political power. I think governments are, in a sense, an organism. Organisms seek to grow, propagate, adapt, mutate perhaps, and so on. This is true of biological organisms but also of corporations, social clubs, religions, and political entities. Anything perceived as being harmful to the growth of an organism is, in one way or another, expelled or at least constrained. Thomas Jefferson said that it was the natural tendency for government to grow and liberty to yield, I think this is the reason why. I believe this creates a few problems for libertarians: 1. Because few non-libertarians take libertarianism seriously, libertarianism tends to attract a lot of non-serious people (Vermin Supreme for example), which only serves to reinforce the skepticism of others about the party and platform. 2. Political outsiders can take extreme positions to win favor with their base, but such ideas are not practical for most other voters. For example: I don't like taxes, I don't know anyone who does. But not liking taxes is not the same as thinking ALL taxes can be abolished immediately, everywhere, forever. 3. Because of 1., there tends to be a lack of charisma among candidates. Gary Johnson had some good ideas, seemed like a decent enough guy, and had a fair track record as Governor. But they guy had the charm of a sleepy librarian. And yet he seemed like Cary Grant compared to Jo Jorgensen. I don't know what the answer is (I don't think anyone does, since libertarian parties everywhere are so dysfunctional) but I think candidates and would-be bureaucrats need to infiltrate the ranks of conventional political parties and government agencies and dismantle the apparatus from within. Like cancer.

She did. It sounded horrible. But I agree. Ha! A debate should be based on values you have in common. The great Reset, for example, is not debatable for a party that believes in capitalism. That's obviously an opinion; obviously two people can get on stage and throw ideas at each other, and sometimes the commonality comes up. But most debates are short formats for answers where all you are waiting for is a zinger. Or perhaps a Rick Perry moment. Put the issues on a webpage.

It’s hardly her fault that no Democrat or Republican will debate her! I was tired of elephants and donkeys so I tried to get in touch with Libertarians...in my state I called multiple times, sent emails...no response. I called the main office, and was put in touch with a member across the country....excellent conversation, down to earth.... I asked "Where are you guys? We need a 3rd dog in this political fight"... He said they get shut down on both sides and are not funded like the big parties.... I got his drift but sensed defeat....I wish they could pull it together...

Honestly, I was embarrassed to vote for her in the last election and am more embarrassed after this clip. I only voted for her because I believe that having a strong third party could help bring the US out of this super polarized world we seem to be creating. This polarization I believe could pose serious consequences for us and I think a third party could help us have actual discussions and look for actual answers rather than being pulled to one of two sides. However, this is rough. It's like she wants to make it seem like she's so great that she doesn't have tough debates or interviews, yet here is evidence that she can't handle the very basic interview she is in. I don't know if it's self-deception or a lack of self-awareness or what. There are so many disconnects in the Libertarian party that they really just seem to have no idea how to actually generate interesting conversations and become a viable party. If ever there was a year where a lot of people would've heavily considered a third party it was in 2020, and they just completely missed the mark even worse than usual. Yet, I still hope some third party somewhere pulls themselves together. We need it.

Yeah Dave Smith really needs to get on this podcast. I agree with you. I don't agree with him on everything. But most of it. I think the larger population of the United States whether they want to admit it or not. Because everybody will claim Conservative Republican or left democrat. However I would say the bigger percentage would be center right center left but you could really say libertarian left or right. Because most of us we just want less government less taxes. Less b*******. Let people do what they want to do. Get rid of these absurd walls that send people to jail for 4 years for possession. and if they have a felony when they get out felonies off their record because let them vote again they've already done their punishment simple things that we all would agree on. It's just that the government especially in the last decade love to segregate us. They couldn't do it by race so they're going to do it by political affiliation and religion a little bit and now they're doing what they can to go back to the race thing and segregate. But what's absurd is especially the Democratic party. And the left we need you. They cater to the extreme left. That we all know they're out of their minds they're just absurd and it's a very small percentage of citizens in the united states. However the media attention they get magnifies them makes them appear bigger. Even to themselves. This government it's changing the way the United States operates and restricts the freedoms of the citizens. The majority of citizens for the privileges given to the extreme left you wouldn't see a big corporation or a company have 100 employees. 95 of those employees are pretty much the same they're on the same page same book. But because of five employees that CEO of the company is going to change all standard operating procedures and whatnot to benefit and cater to that five people. Changing the whole company. Your employees to conform to that five. You don't see it why it doesn't make sense. Plus these people demanding equality and they just want to be true like everybody else freedom of speech blah blah blah. They have it BLM trans community they have it we don't care what you do. As long as it doesn't interfere with our rights. So you have equality and it's not even that they want equality they want privilege. Especially the feminist movement feminism rather. They're equal 70% of the colleges are women or in each college 70% of the students are females. And they choose the HR the clerical the office type or corporate type work. And also the medical field. Nurses nurses assistance physical therapist phlebotomist things like this. And the feminism argument is the wage Gap and whatnot. then they only have themselves to blame because they're the predominant ones in this field now. So they make the most money in this field. And if you want to get technical more females are going to college. So the percentage ratio is off 30% are men so it should be 50/50 right. And then you have divorce and if you have kids the custody. where's the equality there because more often than not marital assets are split even if she never worked she gets half your stuff more than half actually she gets to keep the living accommodations the house the apartment whatever. The kids primarily go to the woman 95% of the time. And how many times have you seen fathers I know personally I'm like this I have my kids how it's laid out 4 weeks in a month three days four days three days four days. It comes out to like 15 days a month so half the time and I still have to pay $2,500 a month child support. So if it was actually fair. then it would be okay sure split Mary will assets but be fair about that. If the father has the kids half the time. Then they have to agree civily where the courts will make it happen that the mother will pay for school clothes and supplies the father will pay for insurance medical sports things like this and then when each parent has the children then they pay for the food and whatnot. And then there's no more child support exchange. So feminism especially they get privilege. so all these left work stream left groups like as I mentioned they don't want equality because they already have it. They want special treatment they want privilege. Privilege of what basically to live off the government's dime and not really do anything. and then like this newer generation they're all yelling $15 an hour but if anybody ever watch the Tucker Carlson interview like for weeks ago. There was ainterview. And the main person the spokesperson or whatever for this group I forget what it was but they were talking about when they get living wages. Then they'll go back to work but then Tucker disputed it kind of and okay sure give you living wages then it turned into something else but they slipped up and got mad they essentially basically admitted that they think they deserve to get paid and do nothing. They're just lazy that's all it is.it's awful what society is turned into but you can just blame us parents really as older people because for whatever reason nowadays parents want to be their kid's friends. And then come puberty time when it starts getting hectic parents can't put their foot down it's too late. and even then they're still wanted to be their best friends. Instead of disciplining your kids or my kids obese in this whole obesity thing. You as a parent restrict their food. And it's not just something that happens you know sure maybe a very small percentage of a thyroid problem but the rest of them do it from eating. And diabetes because all this body shaming b******* that's what it is because like they are fat they are obese. To promote that and pretend that you're happy and everybody else is wrong. That camera goes off they're crying. Plus if everything's so great one of their lead spokespersons just from last couple years 35 years old I think 40 years old she just died last week and they said unknown causes and she died in her sleep. I have an idea what it was. but if everything was fine with these obese people and it's just their body be comfortable in it. Let's see your blood test let's see your LDL let's see your cholesterol but see the plaque score of your arteries I see your blood pressure I used to be fat. I know they're not happy when I was a teenager I had to make it up with humor

The ability or lack thereof to debate is a good indicator of competency and intellect… to listen, find and pick apart the patterns in conversation, take complex ideas and distill them down into simplified form, communicating your own position and the position of your opponents concisely; it’s like a game that shows you are competent enough to play within the framework of that game and win. That is why we have presidential candidates debate because ideally we pick the most competent person for the job. It also reveals how well individuals can handle themselves under pressure and criticism. We don’t always pick the most competent person for the job but the system is set up in a way that facilitates this act of propping up the more competent individuals, of sorting the wheat from the chaff.
