Great theories Muse! I really enjoyed these theories! I have a theory of my own: what if the Astral Plane IS QUADRATUM, or an earlier version of Unreality? If that is the case, then something must've happened with the Real ML Scala, forcing everyone in the society to flee into the Astral Plane. And as tie went on, they would create and develop into Quadratum (after all, this is the closest world in KH to be as similar as Quadratum outside of Sanfrasokyo) and the heartless into "Karma" (what I believe to be the force of evil in Verum Rex). Moreover, the Astral Plane is just our world, but with the KH filter of ML Scala, just like Quadratum is based on Real World Tokyo. This would the force survivors of that Era (like the player and Brain) to rebuild Scala and erasing any information about it, likely to prevent any similar events from happening again. This theory has it's own flaws, but it's still fun to think about!

Maybe it was forgotten because it wasn't important enough to be recorded in the Book of Prophecies? Or maybe Chirithy had something to do with it? As they wiped the memories of the initial Keyblade War from all of the Dandelions except for the Union Leaders (and Player)? Whoever survived this second war had their memories wiped and only a select few were left to tell the story of legend? Maybe this era is here just to tell the tale of the war over the x-blade? And could the Astral Plane simply just be the Realm of Darkness?

I’m taking your destruction to reconstruction theory and raising it with an example from the real world. Until the 20th century we had really very limited to almost no knowledge about the societies of Neolithic and Bronze Age Europe outside of Greece (and even that’s complicated due to the lost of knowledge of Linear A) so when archeologists started to find artifacts in those corresponding layers, such as at Varna in Bulgaria, it started to paint a more complex picture of Neolithic and Bronze Age Europe. Since it doesn’t seem like the knowledge of a writing system spread in Neolithic and Bronze Age Europe outside of Greece (although there are some clay seals from Romania that might in fact predate the development of writing in Mesopotamia). Plus there are a number of sites that have built and rebuilt over time, thus erasing traces of the past behind.

What if that Scala Ad Caelum is completely separate from the one we know and it grew more advanced over time, mimicking real-life civilizations.

Majorly unrelated theory, but what if the reason that characters directly from older final fantasy games have made their way into the universe of Kingdom hearts, is simply because attaining kingdom hearts is literally their final fantasy, but from the quadratum side with each considering itself reality & the other to be unreality? Could go at least a bit of the way to explaining why Yozura is almost identical to Noctis Lucias Caelum in FFXV, even the way that Yozura manifests his keyblade is pretty similar to Noctis manifesting a sword. It's something I'd been thinking about since I finished remind forever ago, and even if it's completely debunked I'd still love seeing a KZfaqr cover the idea 😅
