i am using a BMW E63 M6 oem forged wheels model 167, 5 spoke for past 10 years.....never had a single crack or bend.....despite using low profile tyres and driving fast and rough on uneven road where i came from ...stick with wheels made from germany.....especially forged wheels...u wont have any regret....

It's come to the point where flowformed/rotoryformed/whateveryformed wheels are at least 75-80% of everything that forged wheels are, at a price point that is around 50-60%. While forged wheels are still very good, and some are even amazingly awesome... Those flowformed options just fit better in every application where you don't have infinite money for your build.

You should have mentioned how Rays, BBS Japan or TWS forged wheels are made, which is a different and a more superior technology, than what US companies use.

Hi Team - so I treated myself to a set of 19 inch BMW OEM 624M forged rims for my car, but unfortunately I have kerbed the far side front rim lip pretty badly - can forged wheels be repaired at all? Maybe that lip could be re-machined? Thanks!

Cast is well.....casted, completely. Poured material into a mold and cooled and trimmed. $400-$1000/set (ALL made overseas zero american made cast wheels: made in China, Taiwan...ect..) Flow Form has a Casted Face, and Semi-Forged Barrel. Poured and pressure treated material for the face then stretched and heat treated barrel that strengthens its material structure. Then the face is trimmed just as the cast. $1100-$3000/set (Also all made over seas, no fully american made "flow form" wheels.) Fully forged is a solid block of 6061-T6 (6061 = Aluminum Grade, T6 = Heat Treated) Aluminum. First stamped into its 80-200lbs+ Forging, then Lathed into its Profile(diameter, concavity, offset) and then milled exactly to design spec. $3000-$$,$$$/set depending on company and design detail+engineering. There are A LOT of these forged companies today in the US that will get their wheels completely made in China and Taiwan and shipped over, SevenK, Z-Performance, Signature Wheels, BC Forged, and more. THE BEST fully forged wheels are made completely in the US and if who your buying from IS NOT IN HOUSE manufactured, they dont have business in the industry imo. all the china forged companies are watering down the true american forged quality wheels.
