The famous paranormal investigators, the Warrens, were Catholics. They never stopped being Catholics but they also delved into spiritualism. They were not adverse to taking part in seances. Some people who were part of the Warren’s more famous cases have said that they actually made matters worse by opening doors for more paranormal activity by conducting seances and other means of trying to carry on conversations with the spirits. Ed was himself obsessed with the paranormal. His amateur art gallery in their paranormal museum collection of items are all of scary scenes of haunted houses and wooded areas. A somewhat dark mind. This was the way he earned a living. He sold his scary paintings. They say that they never charged money for their investigations but they did make some money selling their stories. The Annabelle doll still sits in that museum. The guy who inherited the Warren’s property had control of the museum. A few years ago I watched some of his videos. At that time there was still a Catholic priest who lived there and came to bless the “haunted” items in the museum every day including the Annabelle doll that is locked in a glass case. I do not believe that a glass case binds evil. There is a story of a young guy who taunted the doll while visiting the museum. When he left the place he crashed his motorcycle and died. It seems that Catholic exorcisms always take a very long time and often are unsuccessful. Probably because they use rituals and prayers that are said instead of simply following the word of God which the Catholic Church has tried to suppress over the years. My mother was a religious Catholic and my father was an atheist who came from a family of Free Masons. Us children were sent to Catholic school. I was tormented by an evil spirit at night throughout much of my childhood. Since my father told my mother that I was just dreaming nothing was ever done to stop this torment. I had to just suffer in silence. As I grew up I had much resentment for the church and as most of my classmates did, left that church as a teen. When I was in my 20s and had gone through my rebellious years I was in a bad marriage and had children that I was concerned for. There was no one to turn to. As Catholics we had been told that the Protestants were all doomed to hell as were all that did not accept the Catholic faith. I guess that church is much more liberal today but back then no non Catholic got into heaven according to them. They put so much fear in other churches in you that many just turned to sin. I bought a Bible and decided to find out about this God that I had heard about. As I read the New Covenant scriptures I began to fall in love with the Lord Jesus. The Spirit if God began to change my heart toward God. It is a long story but God himself delivered me from my enemies that were too strong for me and He has never forsaken me over the years. I am totally free from demonic spirits. Life is a challenge but if you stay close the Lord and His word He is always there for you.

Yes, the Warren's are an interesting case. I always appreciated the fact that they acknowledged God and The Lord Jesus but was always massively disappointed when they disobeyed clear scriptural prohibitions on using occult means and methods. This ended up disqualifying their work, unfortunately.

Just a thought: The Gettysburg ghost stories brought to mind for me, the verses in Genesis where: ”And the Lord said, “What have you done? The voice of your brother’s blood is crying to me from the ground. And now you are cursed from the ground, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand.“ ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭4‬:‭10‬-‭11‬ ‭ESV‬‬ Wow. Lol. I posted this response, then i finished the episode and you guys mentioned it.

This show reminds me of Art Bell’s Coast to Coast Am. I mean that as a compliment. Dude kept me engaged for 5 hours a night driving an 18 wheeler even when I didn’t buy into whatever the topic was for the night. He ended up having quite a few tragedies in his life and seemed to attribute some of that to things he may have let into his life via some of the shows. I wonder if an episode about that is possible. Love the stuff on giants. Thx guys.

I believe most "ghosts" are familiar spirits (demons). That said, almost 2 years ago, I experienced the effects of sudden loss of a family member I was close to. For a few nights, I heard sounds of her in the house, like going through her usual routine. After talking to someone about it, then praying about it, I had one night where I dreamed about her being able to walk again, & she was singing and dancing with some of her students from her days of being a missionary. After that, it all stopped.

Another top notch episode lads, your work glorifies God. I've blessed countless houses infested with so called 'ghosts' every time these so called dead human spirits are wearing the mask of dead loved ones of the residents or historical figures....and every time these 'ghosts' flee at the name of Jesus Christ and detest symbols of Christian faith such as crosses, bibles, holy water and even sung hymns. Sometimes but not always the 'ghosts' drop the facade and reveal themselves outright as putrid demons! But mostly they just flee. Some are connected to someone alive due to some occult dabbling and others seem linked to a particular cursed object or item brought into the residence. All that is to say every 'ghost' I've encountered is in fact a demon.

The story of the salon owner seeing her friend ... important point you made -- the appeal that death is this magical thing. Hospice nurse stories are very big on tik tok, FB and social media. What is actually happening on all the claims that hospice patients see their loved ones? This need to be addressed. Hospice nurses are writing books, speaking on it. We need a biblical and christian perspective.

I had a hospice patience who, near the end of her life, kept asking me if I heard all the singing. I asked her who was singing or what they were singing and she said: angels. "They're singing hymns about Christ in Polish like I used to hear when I was a child." She had such a smile on her face. I could not hear them but I definitely do believe her and that their purpose was along the lines of a welcoming home.

My great aunt passed away in 2008 from breast cancer. She died in her home with my grandmother and hospice nurses present. For the last two days of her life, she had conversations with people that no one else could see. My grandmother would ask her who she was talking to & my aunt would question why no one else could see “them”. She was peaceful though. My grandmother is a Bible believing Christian. At my aunt’s funeral, (which she planned before her death) people who wanted to speak were asked to stand up and speak if they wanted to. I am introverted to my very core and I had mentally decided not to speak. But, as everyone spoke, I kept feeling this strong urge (I can’t put it into words) and urgency to speak. My aunt was someone who said whatever was on her mind and wasn’t embarrassed to say anything. I am The opposite. Not only did I suddenly jump up to speak, I shared a story about her that involved an embarrassing moment for me, but was a story that reflected her fun personality. To this day, I can’t get over the nudge to speak and I still have second hand embarrassment from sharing that story publicly... at a funeral. None of that is my personality, but it is something that she would have done. I am a Bible believing Christian & strive to obey God’s Holy word. But, I don’t think anything that I experienced or that others witnessed from my aunt’s death was demonic. I would love to be able to understand what we experienced, but maybe we aren’t supposed to understand it all. I don’t discredit most hospice stories though.

My mother and I are both born again Christians. She was a believer at the time the following story happened, and she attests to it to this day. My grandfather, Bud, died of cancer mere months before I was born. It was very hard on my mother, not solely because she had lost her father, but because he had been so excited for my arrival as his first grandson. He already had three beautiful granddaughters by my aunt, and I was to be the first male of the family as he had had no sons himself. Not long after I was born, during one particularly long and difficult bout of colic, my mother was alone at home, attempting to calm my crying as she sat in our living room on an otherwise entirely ordinary afternoon. Suddenly, out of nowhere, my grandfather, Bud, approached my mother and calmly, effortlessly, took me from my mother's arms, held me close against his shoulder as he walked the room, back and forth, bouncing me gently until my crying gradually faded away. After several moments of this, he casually and gently handed me back to my mother. And just as suddenly as my mother realized he was there, she realized he was gone. Now, I believe he spoke, but I don't remember what he apparently said. Now, also, my mom is not someone who I believe has experienced any other clearly supernatural activity, to my knowledge anyway. To close, based on my mother's knowledge of her father, he was a believer too. In light of all you've said, I don't know what to do with this. There was nothing about this encounter that suggests deception. I just don't know.

Before we were saved, my wife's grandmother passed. My wife was the closest to her, and she was very heartbroken by this. She very much looked forward to having our first and sharing that joy with her grandmother. One day, about a year after our daughter was born, my wife stirred from an afternoon nap and saw what she _felt_ to be her grandmother standing by the bed. She felt calm and at peace, and was excited to tell me about it when I got home. After getting saved and baptized, she never saw that apparition again. Even though nothing negative happened, we both wondered if getting saved had something to do with it... maybe if we had welcomed her "grandmother" back, we would have been inviting something into our home that was anything but the kind woman we knew in life. I'm not trying to refute your experience, but just reminding us all who rules this world and is the author of lies and deception.

My fiancee died not long before our planned wedding date. After she died, I realized that it's one thing to have saving faith for yourself, but when losing a precious loved one, questions pop up like "am I really sure that I led her in the right direction?" A few hours after she died, while I was grieving and troubled by that question, I heard a voice which was mostly similar to hers say to me that I must read the fifth of the second of Corinthians or something similar, which sounded a bit awkward, but I quickly figured that they meant 2cor:5. Reading that was incredible, and broke the flood gates of my being able to mourn her. I'm not sure if it was Sandra or posdibly her angel, or who that would have been, but it was certainly Godly and uplifting.

I have a story to share - my dad, a very logical man of science and also a Christian, told me this when it happened when I was a teen. His brother had a lot of life issues after their mum died and dropped himself off the map, couldn't be found for over 30 years by any family, they didn't know if he was alive or dead. One night my dad heard his name spoken, sat up in bed, and saw what appeared to be his brother standing there at the end of his bed. He didn't know what had happened, assumed that his brother must have passed away, but always remembered the time and the date. About ten years later, his brother was found and my dad was able to go and meet with him. He asked him, what happened on that day? My uncle's reply was - he had been working in construction and was building a high rise. He had slipped and fallen multiple stories, but his safety gear had stopped him literally inches from the floor. He'd obviously still been badly hurt but had survived, and that was the moment that he had "appeared" to my dad. 🤷‍♀️

An effective lie often has a sprinkle of truth. I'm 1:40:28 in, and I when y'all were talking about it possibly being a deceptive tactic to attempt to undermind God's written Truth really made sense to me. If someone's loved one died and was not a Believer and then they see them all happy as a "ghost" that would definitely be a deception, think of if a child sees the person and then that false seed is planted when they are young.

I have a theory which is propably not true. John Bell married Lucy when she was 12 and he was 32. Poltergeist phenomenon is linked with teenage girls. Maybe Lucy had arrested development because of trauma and somehow she was behind this maybe unconsciously. This would explain why the witch especially hated John.

I just came across your channel. I did this with my kids. My oldest son loved to have friends over for his birthday and camp out in the back yard. We'd build a fire to roast hot dogs and make smores, and have a number of other activities. They always wanted to hear ghost stories at the camp fire. I have a few old books of strange "true" accounts and I would read from these. Then we would talk about how knowledge from the Bible applies to helping us understand these things. The strange, dark, and unusual became at least strange, light, and unusual. The kids loved it. But we have had experiences as a family, sometimes on the mission field, and some from our family history. My grandmother one told me of her grandmother who had demons in the kitchen. They were Christian, more or less mature by today's understanding. The demons once chased off recruiters for a traveling carnival. My grandmother said that when she visited her grandparents, they would give her a Bible to sleep with to keep the demons from pestering her so she could sleep. I'm not sure what to make of that theologically, but that's the testimony of my grandmother. My wife's aunt prayed to God after her husband passed away that God would send her husband back to be her guardian angel. We know that's not going to happen. Nevertheless, a demon came to her disguised as her late husband and she was deceived and welcomed the thing. Things got bad pretty quickly with malicious supernatural activities happening around the house. Objects would move and people would be filled with dread. She got her pastor to come and cast the demon from the house. Afterward, she had the fire department burn the house down and sold the land. No one should be messing with spirits.

The episode just begun but I also err toward demons. This is because I can't recall much evidence in the Bible that the Lord allows human souls to remain on this plane of existence. There is PLENTY of evidence that the demonic spirits inhabit this realm though! That being said, I cannot deny that there is a lot of personal experiences of people getting signs and reassurances from, what seems to be, loved ones who have passed. But this could also be through the permissive will of the Lord while they are in His care. Doesn't necessarily mean they're still on this plane. Interested to see what these guys have dug up! Always a pleasure listening to you two. Y'all do a great job. Informative and entertaining storytellers. p.s. Before someone points out when King Saul consulted with Samuel. I believe this was a special circumstance for the Lord to showcase his power, even over death. Based on the mediums reaction, this wasn't the spirit she was used to invoking and interacting with. Also, when Jesus spoke with Moses and Elijah, again, special circumstance. He is the Lord. He can perform miracles as he wishes. However, I realise these examples can be interpreted differently from a different worldview perhaps, and used as evidence for the contrary.

Sure, God could permit a loved one to briefly “visit,” (or it could be an angel manifesting as a loved one) for peaceful assurance, but I absolutely do not believe this is a regular or normal thing, nor do I believe that the dead can choose to hang out on this plane, or get stuck, or hop back and forth. All men are appointed to die once, and then the judgement.

I've had several experiences with the supernatural before I came to Christ and after. One time before I was saved my sister about 14 years ago who was a toddler at the time had a little imaginary friend she would talk to and she could barely speak, but when referring to it she would say it's name was "achee". When we would ask her to show us where achee was she would grab us by the hand and take us into my room and point under my bed. I was in a gang at the time and always into demonic things and into violence. One time after that I came home being sober and was home alone. I always felt a fear of being alone, that night I looked to my left by the hallway and seen a tiny little being about a foot tall and asoon as I seen it, he ran off at the speed of light. It resembled an elf. It frightened my for weeks. Eventually I welcomed such things into my life until Christ saved me and I learned that those are demonic beings.

The book of Enoch which even Jesus references and used to be canon, explains how the spirits of the deceased giants which are the progeny of the unholy union of Genesis 6:4 (when the sons of God came unto the daughters of men), are called unclean or evil spirits, who are destined to dwell on earth till the final judgement. These were unsanctioned beings, not allowed to exist, hence the command from God to Joshua to kill every men, woman and child from the Cananite tribes who were also giants (jeopardizing the birth of Jesus from a untainted womb which was also the reason for the flood) of the same unholy union as genesis 6:4 that reoccurred.after the flood.

Ontologically speaking, a demon that is a spirit, can't have relations with a woman, because a demon has no body. Anytime an angel appeared in the Bible they were sent by God and were given human bodies for His purpose. Nowhere in scripture is there one instance of God giving fallen angels human bodies to fulfill their evil purposes. Also, if there existed a progeny of angels and humans...when they died, where would their souls go? Well, according to the Bible, a soul either goes directly to heaven or hell. At least the human part of the soul would have to, and, I don't see anything in the Bible about a soul being able to be cut in half. There's nothing in the Bible that points to angels having the ability to procreate. In fact, it says the opposite...that people in heaven will not marry but will be like the angels in heaven who do not marry. I think one can extrapolate a lot of ideas from unclear things in the Bible, but, if there's no clear reference to something in the Bible, one shouldn't build a whole doctrine on something that is unclear. Proper hermeneutics is to use clear scripture to enlighten unclear scripture.

@@kristenyurek4490 Genesis 6:4: "There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown". You are right however, God didn't intend for angels to take human form (except for specific purposes as with Lot), this is reinforced in Jude 1:6: "And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day". i never stated that demons can have sexual relations with humans, allthough we do have accounts of succubus and incubus, these do not result in conception.
@kristenyurek4490
@kristenyurek4490 6 ай бұрын
@@michelverbeke6004 okay, I'm following you.... I think 😆! You're saying that fallen angels are not demons. Only the souls of the progeny of fallen angels and human women are demons. However, if the reason God caused the flood was to get rid of this progeny, why would He do so if He knew that they would be demons when they died and cause even more evil? And, again, the progeny would be half human and half fallen angel. If they are demons, they are called unclean spirits. Men are never called spirits, but they do have spirits that go to either heaven or hell upon death. Based upon that, it is Biblically impossible for a being to exist that is a spirit and has a spirit. Is it possible that the DNA existed in Adam and Eve for giants? I mean, all human races came from them. Which would explain why giants existed after the flood...it was in Noah's son's or their wives' DNA. In Genesis 6:4, the Nephilim (which means to fall on others, as in overpowering them), were already on the earth when the sons of God came into the daughters of men. The progeny of this union are the mighty men of old, men of renown. Because again, angels do not have human bodies, they had to possess human, male bodies. Their sin was lusting after women, possessing men to achieve their desire, but most of all, rebelling against and trying to thwart God's order of human marriage and procreation. 2Peter 2:4 speaks directly about those specific angels being sent to the pits of darkness until the final judgement day. The rest of the demons (fallen angels) are still on earth...see Revelation 12:7-9.

@@kristenyurek4490 Angels who rebelled/fell still had the ability to assume a corporeal body. That’s how they impregnated human women in Gen 6. The term “Sons of God” is “Benai ha Elohim” and it’s the same Hebrew verbiage used to refer to God’s council of angels in the beginning of the Book of Job. Sons of God were angels and they had sex with human women. Where do the spirits of dead Nephilim go? They don’t. They are an abomination, destined neither for Heaven nor Hell. This is why they want to possess a body, even if it’s a herd of pigs. They hate us because they can never BE us. They are not a creation of God, and they can never be redeemed. The NT verse about not marrying in heaven refers to us not NEEDING to have a spouse because we are all the brides of Christ, but that verse does not by default mean that angels are not capable of sexual intercourse. Gen 6 makes it clear that they are, and they did. Consider the men of Sodom wanting to rape the angels at Lot’s house. Nephilim sex magic was a thing because it fostered transhumanism (look at what’s happening today). Those men knew that Lot’s guests were angels, and they wanted some of that power. The fact that Amalekites, Rephaim, and Canaanites (all Nephilim hybrid races) existed is proof that it was well known that this forbidden interbreeding was a practice because of sinful humans wanting God-like qualities. Remember also, angels had never seen a woman until Eve was created. Suddenly, for those who chose to rebel, there were options they could exercise in their rebellion. On the subject of Nephilim/Gen 6 (the second Fall [Eden was the first Fall and Babel was the third]) check out Dr. Michael Heiser, Pastor Troy Brewer, and the “Ring Them Bells” yt channel.

I believe the the spirit world exists, do I believe all are bad I don’t know but I do think some spirits linger for a short time. Point in case, my best friend died of cancer Valentine’s Day 2018. I was in her hospital room all day as she was at the end of her life. She was between here and the other side and she would repeat “home” over and over. After she passed that night there was a memorial for her at our church a week later. She was a beautiful person who loved Jesus and every seat was filled for her memorial. Her name was Joy and she exuded every bit of her name. After the memorial a guy who worked at the church came up to me and asked if I had ever heard of a visitation. I knew what he was referring to and I said yes, I knew what it was. He said, I just want you to know that I saw Joy for a split second after the memorial, then she was gone and he said he felt a peace. He knew how close we were and he said he he felt he should tell me and to not be sad because she was home. We don’t know for sure what happens after we die but I do think some may linger but for a moment.

The guys mentioned that the Puritans believed ghosts were demons. I think they were basically right, however I still have questions. Familiar spirits have also been known to imitate the person they were around the person's whole life, hence familiar, and knew everything about them and certainly their voice. This is why so many seances will feature 'the voice of Uncle Bob,'(example) and the person at the seance who knew Uncle Bob the best in life will say,"Yes ! That's his exact voice ! You've reached him !" Well, hate to say it, but more often than not it is not the person's loved one. On another note, I wouldn't put too much stock in what C.S. Lewis thought on this subject.

I don’t think we take pieces of the souls of our ancestors, however genetic memory has been taken some ground recently. There are studies that are attempting to show that trauma can send effects generations down the line (think slavery or the Holocaust). There are aspects of our nature as beings that we have no idea how they work yet. So it’s totally a possibility.

In late 2007, early 2008, I lived in my first apartment in Appleton Wisconsin. It was a very small one bedroom place. In the outside it looked like a house but had 4 small apartments on the inside. Right away things were not right. I’ve been a Christian for a good 7 years by this point, and also used my down time working in ways to get the Gospel out. When I would work on the things I was working on, or if I would pray or read the word, I felt attacked. Words cannot explain. I heard weird sounds, my friend who always said he was in tune with spirits (he’s not a believer at least at the time) said the place felt haunted. I often felt “cold spots “ when I was feeling haunted, and there was no reason for me to believe it was a draft. One night I was so threatened to be there that I actually drove over 100 miles overnight, driving north to Green Bay and driving south to Manitowoc thinking I’ll stop home at my parents house and sleep there, changed my mind then drove back to Appleton. The neighbor across the hall never talked to me, was kinda off, but you could always hear through his door and even into my apartment what he was listening to. It was very pro- Roman Catholic and even Roman Catholic apologetics. The guy downstairs was a schizophrenic I was told and he would always talk to himself. There was a guy that lived around the corner who used to dance outside as cars were drive-by on the busy street, I think it was memorial street for those familiar with the area, and one time my then fiancé (now wife) went for a walk together and ended up talking to the guy and he was claiming to be God and the creator of many different things and he gave me a card with his information on it telling us that he wrote a book and sure enough I was able to find it on Amazon. The stuff he shared with me was very bizarre and I never took him seriously because I knew the truth of God’s word as he was trying to twist God’s word. Things were just not right at the apartment and I would even joke about how I had a demon possessed toilet haha But it all came to its conclusion one day probably in March or so 2008, when I felt extremely attacked and I had to get out of there I felt. It was midmorning maybe almost lunchtime. I was about to leave and I was standing at the doorway with the door open thinking and I really gonna let this thing push me out. I had the radio on my stereo playing Christian music from Q90 FM, a well known station in our area. A worship song was on and as soon as it said the name Jesus as all standing there in the door contemplating what to do next, the power was cut from the stereo. I worked up the courage to walk behind the stereo across the room and the cord was literally pulled out from the back of the stereo. There is no way that could’ve happened on its own being on the floor. Nothing to pull it. So I got out of there! I remember driving around and praying and eventually courage came over me and I came back and prayed to God that thing would leave. I had peace the remaining time I was at the apartment which is probably another month or so and no other issues. There was more that happened such as crazy coincidence my father-in-law‘s brother did there at one point who I just so happen to be working with at Papa John’s in a very somewhat heavily populated area but I just so happened to get the same apartment that he used to live at and he used to be a pretty powerful Christian from what I understand but it was while he was living at that apartment things changed in him. He started to develop an OCD and he just wasn’t really himself afterwards I mean he’s better now at least way better from the lowest point I’ve seen him at, but something drastically changed in him.

The "benevolent" deceptions like a toe being pulled, may not be to trick the person being deceived. For instance, the toe pulling experience contrasts the Word of God. So now this person may not believe it was good, but someday they may run into someone who has a similar experience. "How can you say my experience is not real, when you had the same experience!" This may be the argument someone else takes for these deceptions. Your experience could be the deception someone else clings to for their own experience. Even when I was agnostic, my late mother's perfume filled my daughter's nursery one night and I immediately suspected a demon was trying to trick me. If my mom's spirit could interact with me she wouldn't be weird or cagey or mysterious, she would tell me how much she loves me and how much she loves the 5 grandchildren she never got to meet...the first being born 9 months after she died.
