This video dives into microfiber drying towels. Which absorb the most water? Which are the softest? which cause less swirls? We will look at a few types of drying towels available on the market and decide which is best for you!
Sucker and Sucker Jr.....luxurymicrofiberstore.com/pro...
The best edgeless drying towel period. Its called the 'Sucker' because of its ability to suck up water without leaving any streaks. This is a 1100gsm dual sided twisted loop towel, large enough to dry a full size SUV without needing to squeeze out.

I really like the wooly mammoth from Chemical Guys. Also I have a Dreadnought that I used, but i didn't like it at first. Now that it's been washed a few times though, it's actually working really nicely now.

Brian, thank yo use much for sharing your real-world knowledge and experience! I'm 52 years old and just now getting into trying to take better care of mine and my wife's vehicles - and an occasional vehicle for friends. I've watched a ton of KZfaq videos over the last few months, and honestly some of them just seem like infomercials for certain products. That's fine, but not having any first-hand knowledge, I don't know who to trust and who to take with a grain of salt. Your videos are consistently of a completely different tone and nature, and I really appreciate that. You've been so helpful to me so far!

I have a Sucker towel, and use it regularly. It is the best drying towel I've used. I do two things I do differently, first is to lay the towel down and pat it down to absorb the water, peel it off the spot, flip it and move to the next area - as much as possible I try to avoid dragging. The other thing I do differently is if I have to drag the towel, I do it following the direction of the car: back to front of the panel rather than across the car. In the event of some slight marring, it is less noticeable when following the direction of the car. Anyone who thinks you're promoting a certain towel for some other reason is only denying themselves of a great drying towel.

I'm from Australia and a big fan of Apex Detail. Love Forensic Detailing but think Apex leads it. I use a Big Green Sucker from Bowdens, an Australian car detailing product supplier. First time i used it I was really disappointed - couldn't get around my Golf R without having to squeeze it out. Then thought it might be an idea to read the instructions. They specifically tell you to wash the towel before the first use. Hmm, maybe I should give it another try. The difference was chalk and cheese. Can easily get around my golf and could probably do another. Whatever towel you have, I can strongly recommend that you read the suppler's instructions first. Great channel Bryan, keep up the great work.

I bought a Sucker Jr mainly because I was cheaping out and didnt want to pay for the full Sucker. As it turns out, I'm very satisfied with my decision not only because it's cheaper, but also becauseI wouldn't want to lug around the full size Sucker especially on vertical panels. The Jr fully dries my car no problem.

Awesome video!! Yes we want 1 towel to dry a whole car, with just going over a section once. i got the CSF Delirium Orange Drying Towel which i will test shortly, if i dont like it, i will try the suckers which seems to work great as you say. I dont wanna be messing around with 4 towels and wringing all the time, time is money and i dont want the frustration either :) But i guess we are like minded in this. Love the microscope footage which gives us a better understanding whats happening and how they perform.

he best drying tooweel I have ever used is "The Silverback" by Liquid Elements. It's the only drying towel I have ever used that is great at just laying it on the panel, running your hand across the panel and simply lifting it off. It is also just as great at dragging it across the panel and leaving it completely dry. It will do a large car completely without having to wring it out at all.

Awesome video Brian with useing the microscope camera really shows the difference between them. When I stepped up with the quality of detailing almost 3 years ago. Forensic Detailing Channel was one of the first channels I started to follow. He did that massive mf drying towels comparison short after that. Then I think that is was 1 or maybe 2 drying towels with the twisted loop nap mf weave on them. I got the winner in that test the Liquid Elements Silverback XL drying towel. It's a plush split weave mf weave with a 70/30 blend of microfiber 1200gsm. The amount of water this towel is able to hold is just crazy. In the he tested the drying towels to hold water and had not so much of drying to do with it rather dunk it in a bucket and pull it up and when it stopped dripping he weight it. Just above a gallon of water is this able to hold on to. You feel this when you use it but it's starts streaking way before you get a gallon of water in the towel by just drying with it. Works great as lay out and pull and best with the padding drying. So those with a very soft finicky paints this is what I would get and use the padding drying technique. Don't know who was first with these twisted loop nap mf weave drying towels but Gyeon Silk Dryer Towel was one of the early ones I think. The way how these drying towels soaks fastly up water there are no comparison to them. And combo that with their ability to hold on to the water before it leaves streaks or starting to push around the water is just amazing. I have the one sided version of this towel from Sonax and other no-name versions. Depending on the LSP sheeting ability from it when rinsed after the wash and the amount of water you are going to be soaking up varies a lot. I don't mind switch to a fresh towel mid way. But understand when time is money for a detailer to have them to work with no wring them out or switch to a fresh one. Would be very surprised if they are able to be developing a mf weave drying towel that is more effective than the twisted loop nap mf weave drying towels.

Brian, great video. There is so much "mystery" ( for the mjority of consumers, and pro's just starting out) behind the design and quality of microfober towels, the nap/ weave, high pile, low pile, dual sided, foam core, yarn selection Chinese vs. Korean ( I'm hearing that gap is closing, if not equal with the right manufacturer) the attribute list seems to be longer than your arm, so much to know, even the Physics, dirt has a negative charge, micrifiber positive, microfiber also release dirt quickly. What about chemicals how they react and release with Microfiber, I'm sure it's different, for compounds, waxes, sealants, IPA on towel used to remove polishes. Anyhow not expecting answers here, as scenario is quite involved, just food for thought, and the possibly of lots of video content, though something tells me you have a couple of life times if content you could produce, and anything detailing. The one item that touches every surface, though every stage of the detail, and next to no one explains it. Thanks for being humble and helping all of out.

I use the rag companies twisted loop, Im sure its just about like Scott's towels. They look the same. I usually use 2 of them to dry the Mustang. Just personal preference. I may give Scotts towels a shot
