Definitely not a novelty. Both blades are made from Damasteel (powder formed RWL34 and PMC27, proprietary performance damascus blend made by the Damasteel company.) and are absolutely ground for cutting. The frame is solid titanium and zirconium timascus. Looks pretty, but is 100% functional.

@@metal_complex ahh much appreciated. So it’s no novelty, but for $800, it would definitely be a novelty to me, as I’d never cut anything with it 😭 too gorgeous. I never thought it was cheap, just meant the extravagantness of it along with the double blade design would keep it from being used a lot. When it comes to rough work, I wouldn’t put that knife through it. Using it for something like ripping out carpet staples would ruin its beauty.

That double-bladed Damaskus steel is gorgeous. I don't think I'd want to take that with me on a fishing trip and risk losing it in the lake while I'm trying to cut line. Although with those blades, I could gut two fish at once!
