Quick comment on giving an Infinity Stone to the Collector. It wasn't Odin, it was Loki, and he didn't want Thanos to be attracted to Asgard by the presence of 2 infinity stones. (Loki kept the space stone around for a quick escape.)

Great video! Maybe you could make another one ranking 'Top 5 (or 10) most iconic MCU moments'. I'm thinking things like "I'm always Angry", Spider-man landing with cap's shield in civil war, Tony's first flight in the suit. That type of thing

100% Doctor strange not doing a “pre op” consult prior to beginning a potentially universe breaking spell. When he used to do brain surgeries he would have had to meet with patients to explain what they’re going to do, it’s the same thing.

Didn't Khonshu need someone to "accept it" and belive in him? He can't just pick and choose anyone and the one he found was Marc Spector dying which made the offer much more potent. Not sure Khonshu has many options at all based on the shows specific lore.

On the Secret Invasion mentions on this list (which I hear a bunch of people bring up outside this video) the reason Nick Fury didn't bring in the Avengers was because if he did it would have exposed the fact he had done the clandestine collection of all of their DNA during the battle against Thanos and going back as far as the first Avenger's film (where it was exposed that SHIELD was using the Space Gem/Tesseract to make weapons, and which was also later shown to be used by Hydra to experiment on Wanda and Pietro in Age of Ultron). Nick was doing some black ops BS and didn't want to let the secret get out. Honestly I think the show would have been better served if it was called "Original Sin" rather than "Secret Invasion" since the Secret Invasion story in the comics involves so many more characters on Earth and the poorly concieved actions of the Illuminatti attacking the Skrulls and causing the conflict and the show focused moreso on Nick Fury's duplicitous actions biting him and the Earth in the ass. By presenting this show as Secret Invasion it got people's expectations (and theories/predictions) too high and people were disappointed with what they imagined from a Secret Invasion based story rather than appreciating the well acted spy thriller we got instead.

Both Nat's and Clint's plan to kill themselves (let's be honest, they were going to unalive themselves, it wasn't the other person) in order to get the Soul Stone was a terrible plan. Wouldn't one have to clearly throw the other off? Also, they loved each other more than anyone else?

The big thing that has always bothered me about Thanos' plan was: Did half of all life include half of the bacteria inside every human body that is necessary for survival and health? Because if it did, the folks who survived the snap would die of horrific health issues sooooo quickly after the snap.

I assume you are being sarcastic, given this is funny / sad if true, but I believe the stones work based on true intent. I doubt Tony could call out all the attacking forces by name / type of being that were snapped at the end of End Game, but likely snapped "all the forces of Thanos",

They always word it "Half of all life" when they talk about the snap, so it has always made me wonder to what degree they mean "all" when they say that, because the ramifications for it actually being half of ALL life are way more horrifying than a more specific definitely not "all" parameter to what the snap actually did. 🤷‍♀️

I agree that dr strange is the right choice for the spidey option. Tony stark was dead so we don’t know what his true intention was. Perhaps he thought he’d be a lot older when he died? Who knows.

I just would have had fury be honest. He knew the super heroes would he mad about the dna thing. Just have him say it. He’s a shady spy. It wouldn’t have been out of character at all. ‘I can’t call them because none of them know about the harvest and them finding out would be bad.’

I disagree with almost every take about Nick Fury not bringing in the real superheroes. That was the one thing in the show that made sense when you learn the Skrulls are experimenting on super powers. Plus, it was a skrull asking him to bring in the heroes.

so i agree and disagree with Thanos's plan depending on one thing. Its dumb if the Infinity Gauntlet could just create infinite resources. However, if the gauntlet still abides by some rules of physics, then you can't create new matter out of nothing, right, so getting rid of half the universe's population to create more resources is a viable option, because he turned everyone into dust, that basically frees up a bunch of matter, to be converted into something else. What I think is dumb, is he had no after plan, no follow up. All his armies and such pretty much died, the gauntlet was way stronger than he anticipated, so after the snap, he was unable to address the universe or so and tell them why he did it or whatever, or even install some sort of new Thanos Government to ensure population control, etc. Instead, he's like that guy who slaps a piece of drywall over the hole in the wall but doesnt seal it, paint it, or anything else, and just says "jobs done."

as for the Edith Glasses, you've got to take in account everything that did happen in the lead up to Infinity War, and how Peter proved himself, proved his maturity level, and the fact that the suit is basically a dangerous weapon in itself, edith is just an extension of that. Its not so much dumb that Tony gave him the glasses, i think its more that he didn't leave any instructions behind. then again, I don't think Tony was even thinking about any of that, he probably never updated his will after the snap, just kind of retired the whole iron man thing, thought peter was dead, then End Game happened, people suddenly respawned, then he died.

Red Skull was explained as well, as the Nazis, specifically the Hydra organization, forced the scientist to create the serum and use it on him. He never had a choice of who he wanted to use it on. But he met with Steve, got to know him, even if it felt like a short time in the film, it was probably over the course of weeks, months even, of tests and everything, and used his intuition that steve, who exhibited selfless behavior and goodwill, would have those characteristics enhanced.

That’s why I wish Eternals was a better movie. They hinted that Thanos halved all life in the universe because he knew about the Celestials living in planets but they didn’t commit!!

Thanos works better when he's naive imo. When he's too smart he's too empathetic to me, his plan making should be immaculate but his ulterior knowledge shouldn't, he shouldn't be aware of or respect power above his. He should think eternity is raw power unpersonified so he eventually makes the mistake of becoming it and losing his agency. If he even knew about the Emergence, suddenly he's even more justified and the heroes are the naive ones, and not just because they don't know how to truly deal with the Celestials yet but that they shouldn't have stopped Thanos lol. That would be horrific and make people like Steven ineffective at heroism since he physically cannot grasp the science and magic around him.

@@nailinthefashion I know if Thanos knew, it kind of makes the heroes the bad guys and because of that, would never been acceptable by the company but I think that would kind of elevate Thanos to someone more than a hero. The avengers might have won by stopping Thanos but all they doomed the universe to endless saving and introduces why the Eternals will be needed if they are going to stop what they created. It gives all the heroes a guilt and endless reason to continue fighting for those who cannot fight for themselves.

@@ScoopNoSlaw that's bad story telling imo to have literally all of the heroes be factually wrong and put the earth at such high risk. Then you'd need the Eternals to prove 3 groups wrong: their makers, Thanos and the Avengers and it leaves your heroes in a state of "are they ever right" That's more of a theme the Boys would take on, or a darker project than the mainline Avengers. I wouldn't wanna watch Marvel films thru such a cynical lens

It’s just that in a universe of heroes making horrible decisions and constantly having fans go “what were they thinking, this could end the world” they do always come out on top. Thanos being right isn’t far fetched nor bad writing, it is just more probable seeing that Thanos knew the Eternals and it was hinted they destroyed Titan.

@@ScoopNoSlaw bad is subjective tho so I think it's fundamentally bad to have the first major villain be justifiably right in favor of every single hero established previously, it undermines the rules too much. Wanda for example goes too far and is forever seen as less than a hero by most people in and out of universe. That's good writing because it's one character who is easy to sympathize with, but you can't justify the actions. She then goes on to find redemption and solace with the mutants. But if the entire Avengers roster fights to end the univers even though they think they're saving it, it would shift the entire narrative on its head across too many projects. Is then Kang right? Should they actually let him establish a sacred timeline? Sometimes you have to KISS, keep it simple stupid, so the more complicated or unorthodox stories can live in what if comics or episodes It's clearly an interesting idea but not for the canon, commercial friendly, modern Disney Marvel brand
