I don't mean to be a nuisance but sincerely help you out a bit. Japanese is not an easy language and I think it is hugely admirable what you guys provided here already. Let me patch you up here: 4:39 is actually: "私を称えろ" - "Watashi wo tatero" - the "o" at the end indicating the imperative. (Your translation was correct, it was just the Japanese). 4:54 : "そこまでだな" - "Sokomadedana" - would be better translated as: "This is as far as you (can) go". I understand what you were doing there, however "そこまで!" - "Sokomade!" is a sentences used in the sense of "Stop! - Not any further.". The better equivalent to your translation of: "This is your end" would be "終わりだ / 仕舞いだ" - "Owarida / Shimaida". 5:54 : "また乱入してね" would be- "Mata rannnyuushite ne". Double-N indicating the ん and the third starting the にゅう part. And of course: "Shitene", instead of "tene". 6:39 : "鈍いわ!" - "Noroiwa!" , being a homophone, in this case "Noroi" means: "Slow" not "Curse". The exclamation: "Noroiwa!" means: "(You're) slow!". - 6:45 : "御免" - "Gomen" : To answer your question: Yes, it pretty much is meant in the way of "I'm sorry for what is about to happen". 7:35 : This is a little strange. The voice says "やっちゃえ!" - "Yacchae!" meaning: "Do it!". Your written words are "撃って!" - "Utte!" meaning: "(Please) shoot!". It's important this being a request and not the imperative which would be "撃て!" - "Ute!". The same with the next one: 7:38 : "立って、立ってよ!" - "Tatte, Tatteyo!" : "Stand up, please stand up!" which is again the form of a request (in this case a desperate begging). 7:52 : "無理しちゃだめよ" - "Murishichadameyo". Your translation is on the spot however the Japanese part was a little faulty again. What you wrote: "無理しちゃったよ" - "Murishichattayo" means: "I overdid it." talking about an already finished action or event. Hypernitpick incoming for 8:20 onwards, I will go through in a rush: "むかしむかし、あるところに" : "(...) aru toko*ro* ni" "Harry" should be written: "ハリー" "Ah, Choucho", there is no "U" at the end. "Daijoubu?" - no "O" between "U" and "B". 8:45 : "一丁上がり" - "Icchouagari" : The funny thing about this one is, Icchouagari is often being used in gastronomy meaning (lit.)"One up" / "One order up (finished)". For example, you visit a Ramenshop and your order is being served, it might be accompanied by these words. It is more of an old/traditional exclamation and one from more profane origin, making it sound even funnier hearing it from a little girl like that. Same goes for "Abayo", being very profane (Basically like "See ya"). 8:59 : "どうしてそんなにお口が大きいの？" - "Doushite sonnani okuchi ga ookiino?" - missing an "い" after "き". 9:09 : "(...) 時化るわねえ..." - "(...) Shiketeruwanee..." : The word means to have a bad financial balance or being broke. In this case, it means: "You're (f*cking) stingy (aint ya?)" (Counting her reward for defeating her opponent). It is again quite profane. 9:48 : I will just go onto the written out Japanese here in short: " *O* sorete (...) watashi ha saisho de ari, *saigo* de aru." 10:02 : "*Waga* nikutai (...)" - "Ware ga (...)" would mean: "I am (...)" 10:12 : "爆ぜよ" - "Hazeyo". "Yo" in this case indicates: "You shall (...)". The same goes for the next one as well. 10:14 : "(...) 捧げよ" - "Sasageyo" 11:49 : "燃え尽きろ" - "Moetsukiro" : "Burn out/ to the ground" as in "Burn until nothing is left of you" 11:51 : "Tsuranuke!" : "To pierce through" but also "To follow through (on your plan or ideals etc)." 12:01 : "*G* enmai Raisu". Again: I don't mean any harm or have any ill-intentions.

A bit of trivia for Anakaris: Some of his voice clips in this game are actually regular Japanese, just played in reverse. When he showed up in Marvel VS Capcom 2, they flipped these voice clips back around into comprehensible Japanese.

The dance @ 11:20 is a reference to the series "Sazae-san", where the cat, Tama, would dance while in an orange or another fruit like that.

Hey, I'm the one who found those unused Donovan lines and Demitri joke takes, nice to see them featured here! For a bit of context, the two Demitri joke takes are of famous mishearings of his "Get my rage!" voice clip that he shouts when he throws an ES fireball. To make a comparison, you know all the things that people joke about Street Fighter's "Tatsumaki Senpuu Kyaku!" sounding like, like "The Pipes Are Broken!" or "I'd Like Some Pound Cake!"? This is the equivalent of finding clips of Ryu's voice actor actually saying those things.

The PS1 port cut many animation frames due to memory constraints, so it's possible that some of the missing lines simply don't exist in that version. Also, the text on Hsien-Ko's swords is a homophonous pun. 「剣」 (sword) is pronounced "ken", thus 「昇龍剣」 (rising dragon sword) is pronounced "ShoRyuKen". The Street Fighter technique is written as 「昇龍拳」 (rising dragon fist), but pronounced identically.

Not a fluent Japanese speaker, though I’ve been exposing myself to the language for like fifteen years now. I first noticed “gomen” being used in a similar manner to your note on Bishamon here by Hayabusa Ryu in DoA. Both of these characters have an anachronistic element to their characters-Ryu being a ninja, Bishamon a samurai-which made me wonder if there was a meaning to the usage of “gomen” that’s uncommon in modern Japanese-an older usage that’s fallen out of favor, or a reference to traditional depictions of olden times, such as in Kabuki or early samurai film. I’m no expert on any of these, but looking up “gomen” in Jim Breen’s WWWJDIC gave me the usual meanings, but also a definition that definitely doesn’t seem to get much usage in modern Japanese, although it’s not marked as archaic: “permission; leave; dismissal; discharge.” Again, just amateur hour speculation, and I’m not really sure how it’s used in this fashion since there are no examples for that definition, but assuming the word can work this way, I could see it being a dismissal of a defeated or unworthy opponent the way these characters use it-almost a “you can go” sort of sentiment.

There's A PSP version Darkstalkers 3 called "The Chaos Tower" which allows you to play it with the playstyles of Darkstalkers 1 and Vampire Hunter and as well as Darkstalkers 3. There's also an option which makes it easier to execute special moves with a single press of an assigned button

YESSSSS!!!!!! One of my favorite fighting games ever!!!! I've always wondered what they're saying, thank you so much!!! Fun fact: There's a game for the PlayStation Portable called Darkstalkers Chronicles: Chaos Tower, a game that is incredibly similar and adds the chronicle mode, that actually has all of the voice lines some menu!

To clarify about Bishamon- there is a man underneath the possessed armor. They are two separate entities. The man feels a great deal of regret and remorse for the ruthless killing he does while wearing the armor. He warns people to stay away from him, but if he has already drawn his sword he knows it is too late. So it is like he is apologizing for what the cursed armor will compel him to do to them

If you do the Showtime move on characters it has some lines in Japanese written out in English letters, in that Lilith's 'Kero kero' is shown to be 'Gero gero'..I don't know what this means if it's different at all tho

An easier method for getting the speech audio would be to use MAME and source the ROM images for the game you want. For instance Dark Stalkers: The Night Warriors. Load up in MAMEUI64 (what I use) and hit F2. This takes you to the operators menu the actual game would have. Within is a sound test area where you can go through all of the sound codes and listen to every single sound in the game. Maybe not as fun as playing, but probably less tedious overall, and you'll be able to hear the speech lines without BG music and other stuff. In the game I ref, the first speech bit happens at address 0110, but it's all randomly dispersed so you'll get a lot of the random attack/hit sounds, grunts, etc. along with the dialog. Music will be in there too. Most games support this, though how well can vary widely. MK games tend to only allow you a small sampling, for example. Capcom's games tend to let you traverse the entirety of audio from the given game.👍

Great Video! However if you want an even more precise translation for the 3rd French Line: "Notre peuple" means "Our People" or "Our Population" but it's singular in French. A phrasing mostly used by rulers when they want to express a sort of feeling or thought that is experienced by everyone in the country. (Like "Our People are suffering heavily and want revenge") As for the last part of the sentence, it suggests that the leader of the demon, is speaking to us. But your tanslation was already really good so I don't really have anything to add. ^^ The most accurate translation I can think of is: "Our people are ennemies of yours". I hope I wasn't rude and you don't take my comment badly. Just a French viewer giving his opinion, and sorry for gramatical errors ! ^^' (Also just noticed but "venais" is actually the past of "viens" which means, the person is asking "Where were you from?" but that's the only error.)

Bishamon is a monk wearing cursed armor. Basically, the cursed armor makes him kill so it can eat souls, and the bloodthirsty sword, much like Muramasa, must taste blood or it will cut its wielder. Ergo, Bishamon occasionally apologizes for his actions because he's not fully in control.
