You are looking at the display of your RigExpert or the computer nanoVNA Saver window on your computer and you notice terms like "Series R", "Series L", Series C", "Series X", "Parallel R" and "Parallel X" and you are wondering what these are all about.
This video is all about a complete look at these and how they help you.
I relate all of this to easy to understand series and parallel resistors in the hopes that this will help make sense of it all.
I avoid all of the heavy lift math in the video. I have provided a "Math Sheet" (see the link below) for those who are interesting in exercising their math skills or are just curious about it all.
Promised link to the Math Sheet:

As that goes by chance discovered your channel. I have only watched a few videos but it is immediately obvious that quite a bit of time is invested in producing these educational videos. My thanks and compliments.

Bonjour de Paris France, tes cours sont super. Il est bon de partager ton enthousiasme pour la HF. Hi from Paris France, your courses are great. So nice to share your enthousiasm for HF. Your personnal LAB look's nice. What a task to explain what most people hate or fear in school or anywhere else, thank you coach.

Yes, you are right. Some topics take a LOT of time to prepare good videos on. As long as the Lord Jesus continues to enable me to do this, I will continue. He often gives me the wisdom to know how to present things. 🙂

Thanks for explaining these concepts in a simple way. I tried to calculate the Parallel resistance and parallel reactance. The resistance value matched the value calculated by vnasaver. However the parallel reactance was very different. I have rechecked my calculations and the formula but the I can't find my mistake. R = 24.198693, X = -45.788937, R_P = 110.840844. Parallel reactance from software = 1.2938pF Parallel reactance from my calculation = -58.577544

What is the frequency? Your calculation is being reported in Reactance in Ohms. They are reporting the reactance in pF. Negative reactance in Ohms is capacitive. So, how many pF does it take to have a reactance of -58.578 Ohms at the frequency that you are testing at?
