Okayyyy----that was amazing AF. But, I gotta ask: "do you have a knife that you carry on your person that you use when you need to cut stuff?" I have balisongs, otfs, machetes, etc----expensive stuff.... But this week, I found a Spyderco Tenacious that I am STOKED about and will probably use as an EDC usable knife.

@@jjohnson8977 I will. Coil springs are easy to replace, and d/a knives are under tension regardless of the blade being inside or outside of the handle. ✌️

Mike, I hate to break it to ya but there's actually a short on my channel where I accidentally break the tip off a $1,500 Rockstead. It certainly doesnt make me look smart... But your assumptions about what I will and won't use are very, very wrong.

I'm a collector, and IMO Opinel is the greatest knife ever made. It is my favorite edc knife, because it is light, I don't care if I lose or break it, and no other knife comes close to it in terms of history/heritage. It will be around long after all those other knife cos have gone out of business.

You’re making some pretty big claims there friend. Greatest knife ever made? No knife compares in terms of heritage? Will long outlast all other knife companies? Those are EXTREMELY debatable lol. Opinel doesn’t even make the best collar-lock knives. Old Bear is definitely superior. Case knives or Buck knives beat it on interesting heritage, but I’ll grant you it’s somewhat subjective.

It really wouldnt tho. Steels bad, thin blade so not much life when you sharpen a lot, reports of lock not turning anymore after simply getting wet like come on now

Ya the Opinel is truly just a decent cheap knife. Won't come anywhere close to outlasting anything shone. Wood and basic steel. Thin stock. Not made for longevity

Throw the opinel, I guess! It's as simple a design as you can get; it can take it. That was my father's favorite knife. But he kept losing them, so when he passed away, I got all of them. A dozen opinel knives of various colors, sizes, and types.

Openil all day, had one for years. Would take it over anything in your collection. If I need gloves to handle a fucking knife? Then I don't want it.

I love my openel, but it sure doesnt hold up. Lack of 1 handed deployment, no pocket clip, nail nick. All of it is just outdated. But hey, thanks for the hateful comment on knives as art pieces. It really helps the algorithm, meaning more revenue for our boy MC!

One of my favorites is Opinel, easily top 10. I personally wouldn't own any of the ones on your list. Most are ridiculously overpriced.

Opinel was first made about 130 years ago as a working man's knife, that is the big difference between an iconic knife that even Pablo Picasso is said to have used as a sculpting tool and "jewelry knives" that one is afraid they might be scratched or stained. The difference between a tool and 🔪 "My precious" 😉

Last year I bought my first decent knife and said I wouldn't spend over 500 for a knife. I now have multiple sebenzas. And I just bought a CKF Evo 3.0 full dress to carry around and use. It's a beast. I bought it as a Christmas gift to myself, and it's to honor my late dad.

I honestly like fixed blades. I have owned a lot of Benchmade and H K automatics. Right now I got a Kershaw CPM-154 Blade - Gray Anodized 6061-T6 Aluminum Handle w/Carbon Fiber Insert. Love it for EDC self defense. Itis legal here in CO springs also.
