Now someone should recreate Reincarnated in one week. Let's see how far this train can go until we get some actual horror game masterminds on it

Imagine having someone make a better version of your game only in 1 week edit: i saw this in my recommendation so i decided to look at it again only to be jumpscared by the thousands of people who liked this comment (also just wanna say im really proud of Ben because when I first saw this vid he had 400-500 subs and they've grown so much over the past 2 weeks :D

In my opinion the fact that you can barely see Jumbo Josh’s design is what makes his encounter so terrifying. I mean when the ending cutscene plays all you see is this gigantic hulking mass shrouded in darkness making deep growls and bellows. And it’s now coming directly at you. Now that’s horror right there.

The monster designs are easily my favorite aspect of reincarnated (the models and animations could use some work but that's to be expected). Opila bird's skeletal, humanoid proportions and malnourished/bruised appearance make her WAY more intimidating and unsettling to look at compared to the goofy 0_0 look she gave off before. Jumbo Josh having his body rotting revealing that his face was a fake one made to hide his real face (the skull) is a really cool design gimmick that's rarely seen in horror that i've only seen been done by Springtrap and Derpy from The Trollge Files (that's a reference i highly doubt anyone will get lol). Great video btw! Doesn't drag on for too long and get's straight to the point, really liked it!

Uniquegeese has said that he's actually working on his own mascot horror game. He hasn't said much about it, but based on Reincarnated, I can tell it's gonna be good

The Chase music in Reincarnation goes unreasonably hard. Like, this is a fan-made game that was done within a week, and yet the chase theme is so god damn good

Yeah, it definitely has Baby Dev's First Game Flaws in it, but they did alright for their first outing. If they work on their coding a bit more and fix those clipping issues they got a good future ahead of them.

The designs are Opelia and Jumbo Josh are the best part to me. Not only did they redesign the "kid-friendly" versions of them for the posters and such, but the unioque aspects those cute redesigns give allowed for them to be warped to make the monster version even scarier.

I love how this game doesn’t feel like a parody. I like how it’s not like open death threats every sign, and it’s like an actual poster, not a mural-type thing, that’s almost perfect. Reincarnated does everything BanBan literally couldn’t, made its characters actually scary, the mechanics are pretty much the same, but feels so much smoother. Edit: haha me isn’t thanking U for the 1.1k likes!!!!!111

A bug that I don't think anyone has mentioned yet is that once the chase sequence starts in reincarnated, you can just crawl back into the vent, and Opila will just be stuck there Infront of the vent.

The fact that THIS is only a first attempt makes me wonder what it's going to look like if UniwueGeese decides to start bug fixing and improving the game

Additional notes for people that didn't see the original video: He didn't make the monster designs himself if that wasn't obvious, but it did sound like he helped conceptualize them with a vision of what he wanted. Art design and modelling is a whole 'nother beast, and would have taken up a lot of his week. The project that he will continue working on is not going to be a remake of ban-ban chapter two, as he felt it wouldn't be fair to the developers to just remake their whole gmae for free. I'm not sure, however, if it will keep the ban-ban inspired characters and location, or be a brand new direction. Also, it sounded like the main reason he didn't keep the drone mechanic was due to limited time, but I'm with you that the game is better without it. It slowed the game down way too much, and the "puzzles" weren't even engaging.

I think one thing that's understated is how uniquegeese not only got a better song for opila but actually gave her a leitmotfic/theme song which was then remixed into a differet song for the chase theme, giving her a unique presence and identity as an antagonist. People udnerestimate the power of a good leitmotif for a character.

im glad you didnt sugarcoat your criticism for reincarnated, it's way better than the original but i really do hope they take your criticism for a next update :] personally i feel like they could've try giving the ambient a little more texture, the fact everything was a shiny plasticky texture bothered me, maybe adding some bump maps or smth so it doesn't look unnaturally smooth.

Also don’t forget that reincarnated actually has good polygon counts on models.

Honestly as a first attempt I was blown away! I'm almost positive if he had given himself a month most if not all of the problems would of been fixed. This was a stellar first attempt with a ton of potential.

I feel like the original kinda gets a W when it comes to how Opila moves. Reincarnated, her movements are kinda stiff, and as you said the original is move smooth....but it's not just that. Original Opila just had this life-like uncanny-ness to her movements that made her seem like an actual creature. I've heard it was most likely a bug in pathfinding, but the Reincarnated version could've purposely played into the whole 'predator inspecting you' vibe players got from the original, having her slowly pace towards, staring dead at you before she finally begins the chase or you decide to run.

A few facts from behind the scenes: -the drone mechanic was going to be a thing but due to how hard it was to code the drone, it was scrapped -the opila chase sequence was not made to look like the backrooms on purpose -the tubes were added because of how mason felt when crawling through them as a kid and how they fit in with the game

From the Quality of this video i was geniunly surprised that your channel is not that known but it will be popular i know (also your voice is very calming and nice to listen to :) )

Garten of BanBan feels like a tech demo, or a dev test map. Reincarnated feels like the actual finished product.

Honestly, the idea of a bird moving like an actual predatory bird was pretty cool, but everything else instantly goes to the reimagining.

I thought that the flashlight’s radius was way too small and it eventually felt like an extremely obnoxious way to make the game feel more scarier by limiting what you can see in the dark- though I believe that making the game much darker to combat against the light and pitch black contrast between rooms was a much needed change

Fun fact: It takes SEVERAL weeks to learn how to create a 2 DIMENSIONAL game. It also would realistically take a few months for one person to create a game of that quality. So there is no possible way he could have ever squeezed months worth of work into a week. So the video was obviously faked. I can have patience when I see criticism, but I have absolutely zero tolerance for lying to others, especially when the lies are used to gain the praise of others and to make others look bad. For these reasons, UniqueGeese is by far my least favorite youtube and deserves exactly none of the praise that he gets.

While Reincarnated is definitely tons better in the horror department it also feels like it strays too heavily from the idea of a kindergarten in some aspects. BanBan's characters originally gave me that feeling like when you do go a kindergarten and see the poorly drawn, somewhat horrifying fake mascots painted on the walls to make it feel more alive and comfortable while failing miserably because they're too cheap to put much effort and 'the kids won't care' and the parents will drag them back anyways. Reincarnated doesn't quite give that kindergarten feeling to me, it feels more like a older McDonald's like place instead, still a cheap place but it's full focus is making it enjoyable so the kids beg their parents to go back. While it wins in the horror based department, it feels worse in my eyes when it comes to sticking to the theme of it's environment. Also, how in the hell did Reincarnated's physical Opilia get passed to go anywhere near the kids or kindergarten? Josh I somewhat get cause it seems like his decay was over time but Opilia seems like she's been that horrifying for a while.

I really like this video because you point out flaws in Reincarnated with no silver lining, because it was a game made in a week by something who just learned to code. it wouldn't be perfect and you don't make excuses for the game.

You know, seeing as this is the guys first game and he pulled it off that well with only some clipping and a weird note system, that’s actually really good.

The fact that the only thing that was wrong was very minor texture clipping and a few game bugs is pretty amazing considering this is like doing a Game Jam on hard mode, having to not only learn how to build a game, but actually create a playable version.
