Stuff we use:
CAMERA - This is the camera we have used to film 90+% of our interviews (over 200 interviews and counting) It continues to be our workhorse - amzn.to/2u66V1J
LENS - Most people ask us what camera we use, no one ever asks about the lens which filmmakers always tell us is more important. This lens was a big investment for us and one we wish we could have made sooner. Started using this lens at the end of 2013 - amzn.to/2tbtmOq
AUDIO
Rode VideoMic Pro - The Rode mic helps us capture our backup audio. It also helps us sync up our audio in post amzn.to/2t1n2hx
Audio Recorder - If we had to do it all over again, this is probably the first item we would have bought - amzn.to/2tbFlM9
LIGHTS - Although we like to use as much natural light as we can, we often enhance the lighting with this small portable light. We have two of them and they have saved us a number of times - amzn.to/2u5UnHv
COMPUTER - Our favorite computer, we each have one and have used various models since 2010 - amzn.to/2t1M67Z
EDITING - We upgraded our editing suite this year and we’re glad we did! This has improved our workflow and the quality of our work. Having new software also helps when we have a problem, it’s easy to search and find a solution - goo.gl/56LnpM

This woman knows her stuff! I'm not even an actress but her advice can be applied in business and life in general. This is someone I'd love to be around all the time just to soak up her wisdom. Very very wise woman!

I love that line "be careful of becoming a professional student" that makes sense to me I know many Actors who are great and excell in the class but have been doing it for almost a decade and have never really "went for it" its crazy

Most helpful part for me was the idea of being prepared enough in advance that you could be in public before, giving yourself a chance to be a person. Also, I really liked the idea of celebrating after since whether you get the job or not you went to work and gave it your best shot!

When she said never talk about having loss a job when it was only an audition because you didn’t book it to begin with. I find myself saying that a lot, but it makes sense the way she explained it.

I went to school for acting and our teachers told us not to even call ourselves Actors until we actually start getting paid to act. Up until that point we are simply "auditioners"

brilliant piece of information. Limber up before the audition, be nice to ppl but do not consider them right away to be your best friend, the point - you did not loose the job. You never loose something you never had, be nice to yourself and ENJOY YOURSELF WHEN YOU ACT - SAYS IT ALL.. Brilliant vital tips.

"the audition is the job" I forget who said that, but even as a non-actor, I think that's some of the best acting advice...

"Which part of this interview was most helpful to you?" I'm not an actress, but her advice is useful for any media in entertainment industry. I have two moments. "Be a conscious human being", that's a good one. Another is to be protective with yourself. Usually, I'm kind with my audience, and they can become disrespectful or feel entitled to ask for more and more. I need to learn how to protect myself without throw away their opinions or suggestions (aka "good feedback").

8:38 This is sad for me because I am a very young person emerging into the world, who still has a rather childish mentality, hyperenthusiasm, friendly, and open-minded personality, I made a friend with my friend’s mum but it was so bad it ended quickly 😝 so this basically happened to me. Plus I was recently in a music video as a waitress (my first ever paid job!) and I might not see some of those peeps again. Although it is fairly likely that I will.

I am not in the entertainment industry, but I don’t understand how sensitive people like this can make it in the world. They feel entitled to people’s time and emotional energy and are hurt and offended when they don’t get it. Some people don’t have that kind of time or energy to give, especially to someone who will be gone in a few days anyways. Some people want to do their job and go home. This woman needs a dog and friends.
