Corrugations Find Our Weaknesses! We take the Next Gen Ranger and MDC to Gnaraloo and stay at our FAVE campsite - 3 Mile.
The trip really tested the gear with a few things going wrong.

Great video, A bottle of loctite might be a good investment.

Thanks mate 😁 We used loctite on the centre section of the release rods but the ends just hook into a hole. Sounds like the new washers from Huracan Fab will do the trick 🤞 Will look to add spring washers to the CB whip and the light bar

Everything added bolted to spec. Just shows how hard corrugations are. I’ve had bash plates come off in a previous vehicle. Spring washers help but can’t beat regular checks when you’re doing prolonged drives on roads like this

Not the easiest start to the trip but good that you were able to get expert support and could start the trip with minimum distribution to your plans. Excellent narration and photography. Definitely worth the length of drive for the experience that greats you on that magnificent coastline. Excellent review of campsite facilities and locations too.

Great trip guys. How do you find the 15ft MDC ? Not too heavy. Might downsize the van to get into better spots. You have a good setup.

It’s not the lightest van out there, but its very sturdy if you’re planning to access remote areas. Been on a few tracks too with it and handles the bumps and wombat holes really well. Surprising how much space you have when it’s all set up.

How did the Mdc stand up. Considering the same van for corrugated roads like the Gibb.

@@Perth4WDandCamping thanks, good to know. If only the ranger was, my next gen is 16k km in and has had new glow plugs, new front suspension and now has an oil leak. Still love it though!

Yikes. Joys of owning a Gen 1 model hey! We are essentially the R&D for Ford.! Looks like the oil leak (assuming it’s from the turbo return) seems to be the more common one I’ve heard - a small issue (although albeit very inconvenient). Suspect Ford will have most of the bugs ironed out soon. Maybe a sign for you to get a suspension upgrade / lift 😉
