I'm going to be a freshman in college this year with the intent of applying to an OT graduate program once I graduate.. this video made me realize that I really really love OT as a profession. This job truly seems incredibly fulfilling.

Oh my goodness, this brings memories and tears to me! In 2006 I broke my back in a car accident. I was 385 pounds and in a turtle shell. My OT and I struggled to find a tool that would help me wipe, shave, apply ointment or wash. I invented the FreedomWand. I worked with many OTs in designing the function and features of this tool. April is OT Month and I am so thankful for my OTs and to partner with you all with the FreedomWand.

After seeing so much negative stuff on social media all the time, I'm glad I saw this. This video is one of the most captivating & touching videos I've ever seen on this wonderful profession. I've been literally crying the entire time..each story touched me even more. My heart just goes out so much to each & every patient..and to the OT's who helped them.

Here for hrs too but very glad I watched. It truly is a fulfilling profession. You feel it in your heart and although I enjoy my office jobs I've done for 22 years, it is definitely not the same. Looking forward to applying in June and praying to get accepted. ♡

Call around your local area and see if you can shadow someone, if you have any field work from being in school try calling places you've already given free work to and see if they'll hire you. Otherwise you could try to go through your school for a reference or brain storming on where to start. Just because you graduated doesn't mean you aren't apart of that school anymore ^^
