Watching from a place in Canada where I can guarantee that I could detect at least 100km radius around me and not find anything older than 1800. Soooo I live vicariously through you! I’m so jealous! Always remember, even a disappointing day would probably be a great day for some of us! Have a Merry Christmas and thanks for your videos! 🌲

Simply the most informative, interesting and engaging metal detecting videos out there. Each video teaches me something new about our past here in the UK and to top it off whenever I find a coin dated between 1911 and 1936 I always without fail out loud say 'it's a gorgeous Georgie' :D

In my experience, farmers used to take produce to the towns and cities, and get paid to take city trash away in the empty cart, which was then spread over the fields to get rid of it. I could imagine a child’s coin collection, forgotten in a collapsed shed, getting thrown in the dust bin with all the other stinking rubbish 40 years later?

Hi John: Many thanks for offering your subscribers an opportunity to win either the brush/pick kit or the collector tin with a surprise inside each of the three tins. Not that it matters, but I've been with you for several years dating back to the time before you found the bronze age axe head and the silver ingot that was found when you done for the day and heading back to your car. As you say, the best finds always occur at the end of the day. Warmly - Michael

I think the little pulley is from an old sash weight window assembly. A couple days ago you found a small brass tie down cleat. That may have been from a wagon, but it also could have from a window dressing. Heavy curtains require some such way to be tied open. 4 pints you say. I'm living in the wrong century. LOL Thanks, John
