I personally bought Asics Gel Nimbus 26 last week, these I bought it for heel pain relief, before that I have used Nimbus 25. Both these shoes are very comfortable and squishy. Nimbus 25 is more softer than nimbus 26 at heel and mid sole. In Nimbus 26, Asics have slightly increased stability. Previous models were aesthetically more attractive and unique, The new styles philosophy in all models look very simple and bulky. Even competitor shoe companies have designed very good looking shoes. I think Asics R&D should put some attractiveness in all models.

More like Nimbus 26 vs. More V4 , 1080 is similar to novablast 4 or cumulus 25 in stack height.

Yes. My interest skews a bit towards 'More v5', and how it will land against all the Asics Ryan just mentioned. Personal bias is toward the wide and stable.

Nimbus 26 is still more comfortable than nb 1080. But 1080 lighter and faster

Looks like if you have nimbus 25, you can wait till it is worn out and replace it with 26. i.e. No need to replace it immediately to enjoy the new features.

Thanks for a surprisingly honest review. Anyway, a wonderful reborn of Asics Gel-Nimbus series. Logically, Kayano 30 model is very closely to New Balance 1080 sneaker line. And do they really need to continue the drawback off painted midsole?

Breathability is very important to me since my feet get hotter when I run. Breathability is even more important than comfort. The novablast 1 is a mix of breathability and comfort. Yes I bought a new novablast 1 last year on Amazon

Yes "NIMBUS" line IS PHENOMENAL!! And yes slight improvements appear to be good.. HOPE THEY NEVER TRY TO "FIX NIMBUS" LINE, ie DONT FIX SOMETHING WHICH ISN'T BROKEN!

Asics lost MANY customers, like me, when they did their nonsense up until the 24. One year would be good, like 15, then they completely change it to tight and firm, and lose customers, then 17 is tight but softer, etc etc. These shoes companies really don't get it. NEVER massive changes.

V25 was already a heavy and bulky shoe. I think going over 10.5 oz. for M9 is the wrong direction.

I agree. I have 25 and find it heavy compared to Triumph 21. This going heavier wont work for me for sure.

Tried the Nimbus 26 in a store. It felt like it rolls inwards toward the big toe when you roll off the ball of your foot. At the beginning and in the middle it was fine, just in the end it pulls inwards. I also tried on an Superblast 3 and there it was even worse. Never had this with a neutral shoe and was curious why nobody mentioned that.

In terms of energy return, does the 26 have more bounce than the 25? Do they run the same size wise?

.5mm more, yes. Probably little bit more due to better grip, more secure midfoot lockdown with a more stable performance.

Did the previous 25 have glued in or removable insoles. The ppl that buy these might like to swap out for higher arch support or even more cushioned insoles. The ppl that use minimal shoes likely don't want bigger, more obstructive insoles anyway

I can’t do no stack height like that. I like low 30’s under the heel and can run in that for my long runs with zero foot pain…and I’m fat. The rest is just extra fluff. But maybe that mindset is now the minority.

My job requires me to stand all day in one place. It’s rare that I have a chance to walk. I’m thinking of getting ASICS but can’t decide between Nimbus, Kyano and Cumulus. From some research, Hoka seems nice. But I also want to use the shoe for running and walking. But most importantly, I don’t want foot pain while standing all day. And I have flat feet. Can you recommend which one should I get please?

More softer Nimbus 25, Softer with stability go for Nimbus 26(Which is new and expensive, Nimbus 25 in sale could be around 100-120 $)

NOPE. only reason for stack height change is how they measured it. Last year, no innersole. This year, measured with innersole.

The 24 is the best Nimbus to that point. 15 and 17 were good. but the 24's outsole is SOFT and wears out fast. I can't compare to 25. 24 ain't bad, but no energy return.

Kayano 29 was better than Kayano 30. The latter was like running in an oversized rectangular sole. We don’t need HUGE soles Asics.
