I don't know if you mentioned yet that there are many children in foster care that reunification with the birth family is not possible and they are waiting for an adoptive family.

Do you guys foster through a Christian specific agency? Do they specifically service Christian families who need help? I'm just curious about you sharing your faith with the kids since you've mentioned having them involved in church services while they're being held online. Do the birth parents have to consent to you letting them learn about faith and the Bible? If the birth parents are also Christian, do they have a say in what kind of church their kids are attending while in care? No judgment at all, just genuine curiosity :)

Good questions. We went directly through department of child services, so not with an agency. But even if we were through a Christian agency, the goal of foster care is reunification with birth parents, so you do want to keep traditions and cultural things for the kids a part of their lives. At the same time, while they are with us, we invite them into the things we enjoy and do and that includes church. During our home study license, they asked us many questions about faith and our lives. So they know about our faith and it was cool to hear our licensing specialist let us know that the state department here has partnered with a local church. This particular church has a warehouse of beds, furniture, clothes, etc and if there is a bed needed for a foster parent to be licensed, then the church provides it ❤️ That's the way it should be. Church should be people who want to be the hands and feet of Jesus and to share His love with those around them (and a place where people who are curious about God can go). One way we get to show the love of God to those around us is through the 3 kids he's currently brought into our life 💕 💙
