What Could Street Fighter 6 Look Like? - (Street Fighter Discussion)

The Street Fighter series has gone through a number of visual transitions.
Over the years, the high quality sprite-work that the series was known for had improved with every entry. Of course, the series reached its peak with Street Fighter 3 and the three versions of it.
From then on, the series ventured into the third dimension with Street Fighter 4. At the time, it was visually impressive.
Street Fighter 4 had a very distinct graphical style. The intro is a great representation for how the game looks, featuring exaggerated feature placement, outlines for each character and thick brush strokes during certain attacks.
Beyond that was Street Fighter 5, which is a better looking game in comparison. The characters have inched closer to looking realistic, especially considering the shift in art direction that abandoned the more stylized look of Street Fighter 4.
What could Street Fighter 6 look like? Would it look highly stylized like Street Fighter 4, or more realistic like along the lines of Street Fighter 5?

I'd love to see Street Fighter 6 - or whatever the next fighter like Darkstalkers or Marvel vs Capcom - to use the RE Engine. Also bring back Makoto!

Oh god, I haven't even considered a game like Marvel or Darkstalkers using the RE Engine! That would be a dream! Makoto is the woman we need but don't deserve.

@@roscodantethefightinggamen7939 I was going to say Rival Schools too, as I do remember seeing Itsuno expressing an interest in bringing it back before DMC5 was revealed. Also with the next Marvel game, if we ever get one, hopefully Marvel themselves aren't so damn hands on next time with dictating what characters are to be in and the art direction/look of the game. Infinite is a good game at its core, it just sucks it looks pretty bland, and the lack of iconic Vs character like the X-Men hurt it. Seriously Marvel, what were you thinking!? They were ones who started this whole crazy thing, back when Akuma first appear in Children of the Atom! But if we can't get another Marvel I wouldn't say no to another crossover with Tatsunoko, as it was more or less the spiritual successor to Marvel in between 2 and 3. Though no idea how likely that is to happen.

Yeah I would like for Street Fighter to take a more cinematic/graphical approach like Mortal Kombat and Tekken and in story mode have a better story and chapters similar to Mortal Kombat in some ways maybe if whenever we get a reboot that would happen but for Street Fighter VI I would love if they took a realistic route though I doubt it but I feel it might be in consideration by them.

THANK YOU! I've been saying that exact same thing about V and cross Tekken to my friends for ages. Hell the article eventhubs did showing prototype sfv? THAT GAME LOOKED AMAZING! Ryu being hslf regular half evil ryu is awesome. CHARACTER PROGRESSION!!!!

This video was focused on Street Fighter, and, well, admittedly, I never really had the chance to get into the Mortal Kombat series. I felt like it wouldn't be right for me to talk at lengths about the game when I haven't seen a ton of it, let alone play it. I don't know if I would give the game the justice it deserves by talking on it. Sorry Edina.

I'm not a big fan of the graphics in Street Fighter V, but if VI looked at all like V's alpha, that'd be great!

This may be an unpopular opinion but I wanna see Street Fighter 6 continue with the 3D graphics they’ve been using but more evolved and better. I know everyone is begging for 2D return but 2D is old and I’m the type of person that tries not to look to the past but “improving the present so that the future will look better”. Like instead of begging for SF6 to look like SF3, we should be hoping that “SF6 with the 3D artstyle will be impressive!” I’m a massive fan of SF4 because that artstyle with the paint shocked and amazed me so much back in the day so I hope to see the 3D art continue with a massive evolution of it

I miss the sprites. They were looking their best on the Capcom side during Third Strike and CVS2.

Capcom made a mistake letting Akuma/Gouki visit Tekken 7 because SF6 can't look better than Tk7. And TK7 is older than SF5. TK7 looks amazing on PC

I feel that way too! If Sony's backing the game up like with SF5, it's definitely coming out in the first year.

sfv old version i thought its gonna be all juggle mechanic was interested but its ok we got how it is now hope they got their eye on like the old sfv beta

please hear me out and heed my Advice. 1. Completely revamp the system make it have ALL the features of A-ISM in street fighter alpha 3, then of course add the new features like super alpha cancel and all those features you could add on world tour mode also add a super gauge charge feature.like art of fighting and silver ex gauge in mugen games. keep V trigger and also add all features of other 2d games like double jump as I guilty gear but maybe make it a wall thing so it still look natural and add all features of kof so I has an advanced system but do not add any easy modes like dail a combo in super combo also and some tekken features and add better combo likes Jin Kazama's 6 hit kazama combo. and leave out that revenge system. also 3d movement done right. breakable stages multi leve and area like dead or alive 4 2 stop making it look like an American cartoon rather give it a 3d anime look for example like soul caliber 4 or Marvel VS Camcom Infinite mixed with the alpha 3 portraits. but please not big weird looking proportions make I look like a serious anime from the late 90s. you see the portraits at the VS screen in alpha 3 try to build of that and take it in to 3D/Amine look realistic look like Final Fantasy 7 Advent children soul caliber 2 CG scenes or TO BE CONTINUED (IA) Many lines and Intros like Mortal Kombat 11 and Inuyasha Fedul Fairy Tail (Sengokuo Otogi Kassen)

Good write up fren, but it is too complex for casual Street Fighter players to understand. Keep it simpler. I like Alpha 3, but after spending some time, I feel Street Fighter 5 is doing right, but it is took laggy in network loading.

@@tongyinwang215 the system is okay but I prefer one meter and guard crush and many supers per meter. at least like MVCI but minus the flying and other stuff the differentiates the two francs SZ3 was genious for example 4 supers per char and anti air super plus close range. just look at chun li and guy

I always assumed it was because the alpha was using PC hardware and eventually they downscaled things to put it on the PS4.

This definitely needs to happen. Honestly though, I feel like Sony is going to sponsor the game again like they did with SF5. If the rumor of SF5 coming to the Switch is true, Sony may be turning over a new leaf.

they should add a switch to change characters 2d to 3d vice versa.

They'd be making two games simultaneously at that point. I'm sure it's possible, but there are two many things that would make it difficult, such as hit boxes, gameplay mechanics, sprite work, etc.

If they went that route, I'd love for the MVC series to have that aesthetic! It'd be like taking the style of MVC3 to another level!

@@roscodantethefightinggamen7939 not a fan of the Air combos. Keep the fights on the ground like MMA. Air combos feel like we are playing as Superman.
