From the very start, the activation of Crosshair's chip has been quite different than how it activated in others, making them practically mindless zombies out to execute Order 66 and kill threats/traitors to the Empire (even Wrecker was no different). But with Crosshair, he's always being hinted at possessing a disturbing self-awareness of his actions, and these actions often come into conflict with his personal feelings...especially whenever the Bad Batch are involved. Normally, the chip is supposed to make clones follow orders to a T. But Crosshair willingly disregards orders, defines to what extent said orders will be carried out, and (perhaps most importantly) thinks for himself. He decided to execute civilians despite only being given orders to eliminate Gerrera fighters. He decided (this very episode) to disregard the order to mobilize in-favor of outsmarting his former brothers. The longer the chip remains active within him, the more independent he becomes and the more frequently he expresses free-thought.

The prospect of Howzer being imprisoned "close to home" on Ryloth leaves open the likelihood, above all else, that he will appear later in THIS series as part of a plot arc, perhaps becoming an early martyr to the fight against the Empire.

This may have been said already but it seems clearer and clear to me that the effect order 66 has on a clone is determined by the connections they’ve made in the experiences they’ve had.. the deeper the connections the more they are able to resist. Cut was completely uneffected, he has an entire family of emotional connections.

I think next episode the bad batch will go back for him with captain rex. and howzer will be the clone who takes rex to gregor, since howzer and gregor are older I think they will know each other and when they find gregor, commander wolf and his squad will be wherever gregor is and they will convince wolf to join them and I think it will be another clone vs clone battle.

Well Rex is probably the same age as Gregor since they both fought at the first battle of Genosis, so I don't really think their age would really matter (who knows maybe Rex is the one who actually knows where to find Gregor) As for Wolffe I don't think he'll be around Gregor unless some really convenient coincidence happens (which wouldn't surprise me)

Honestly I think the difference is the gen 1s all had a defect in their chips, could be all kaminoan clones, the more aggressive and obedient clones could all be sparti clones. Edit: there was only 200000 gen 1s, could be a fault in the manufacturing process that was fixed for the larger gen 2 batch, kinda like a dry run before you start cutting nogs into a wall, get one or two down right and copy the rest off those, so ya not measuring every single time you cut

Not to mention 100,000 were killed or MIA in the first battle of geonosis. Leaving only 100k in active duty, it’s pretty likely only 15-25k of the original clones like Rex were still alive by order 66.

I really want Howzer to escape his captivity, somehow find a way back to Kamino, and become one of the leading troopers in the Clone Rebellion. The clone rebellion gets shut down by the empire on Kamino, but I would love to see that battle and a last stand from the clones!

Sadly everyone forgetting how they can brute force the chip like they did with crosshair, so another route they could go is one that wouldn't make a martyr out of Howzer; Boost his chip so he becomes blindly loyal again. I hope that doesn't happen, but I just want to share that possibility.

I don't think the defector clones were even given the mercy of being kept alive. When Rex was under the chips influence he clearly stated that the order calls for the execution of the order and that any clone who refuses to comply, will also be executed for treason against the Republic/Empire

I’m honestly thinking the next episode will be the bad batch coming back for howzer. They made it a point to highlight Hunters reaction and knowing him he’ll probably tell Rex and then one of them will convince the other to go back for him. Or Omega does, as Cid said, she’s the brains of the operation. But there’s too much that they could do with his character for them not to come back for him. Plus we’d get to see Rex again and that man needs to have more screen time because I love him and howzer equally. Edit: Also, I want to point out that the next ep is called Infected. It probably means the way the clones minds are “infected” with individuality. And how Crosshairs is “infected” with conflicting thoughts on his brothers. No way are they not going back for him.

Great episode and it also shuts a lot of light of things to come houser as quickly becoming a great favorite and the asset to all that viewing and it also turn around not only for the bad that itself but I foresee another true clone war the Camino and the clones themselves will revolt against the empire if it's anything to be sure if these chips are not properly serviced or kept in place and by all means the clones will eventually rebel and there will be a true clone war against the empire great video keep doing what you're doing take care and May the force be with you

Its possible howzer could be part of a batch that the kaminoans secretly altered, if they could somehow predict or be let known that the empire would cut them loose. i, like many others, hope that this leads into the clone rebellion whether it be on kamino or ryloth or wherever

Eventually the kaminoens do fight back against the empire and Vader with a new batch of clones. At least in star wars battlefront 2004. Facing Vader and his personal clones, so that ends as one would expect

There was no Jedi around when Wrecker went on full Order 66 mode. Honestly Howzer's and the clones under him's defection is a plot hole until they can give a satisfactory explanation.

Honestly I think Crosshair felt bad for Howzer… the look he gave Howzer in their meeting about TBB being on Riloth was almost a pleading look… then it turned to an anger/frustration look. So I think Crosshair would have kept him alive. He helped TBB in the end by saving Omega. He still has a piece of him leftover although the chip makes his programming more about following orders than doing what’s right. The blast from the Ion Engine could have caused some damage to the chip, thus making him “slack off” if you will from his programming. I can’t wait to see what happens in season 2.

Important to know is the inhibitor chip only really "mind controls" for directly adhering to an activated contingency order. Everything else seems to just be a suggestion in the back of their head to allow them to make 'more competent' battlefield decisions with their own heads.

As much as i like Howzer, i am kinda disappointed how lazy they have become with designing clone armor. First Captain Stylez (who should be a commander actually iirc), then the shock trooper officers and Howzer: Put a bit of paint onto the Armor and the Pauldron from Rex and done. Could crosshairs chip be losing its power too? Because earlier he shot the human trooper dead when he defied orders. Why not kill this trooper?

I believe he might start the clone rebellion. Not all clones layed their weapons, so it is still an anomaly. And because of that, he might have been sent to Kamino, where he and the clones that followed him might start a clone rebellion

There maybe two factors here. If Howzer is one of the 100 clones that were trained by Jango Fett then he's apart of Alpha class Arc troopers. They were the most like Jango and had more individualism and less altered. They way CF99 were different is through genetic defects. Order 66 was specifically about the Jedi and only one of 150 contingency orders for the GAR. The chip was to ensure they obied each specific order when given but because Howzer was different and there were no jedi on Ryloth he could think for himself.

Maybe Howzer and Crosshair never being friends since clone cadet where Fox bullying Crosshair and fights in kamino cafeteria just before clone wars. That is why crosshair hate all regs.

Howzer if he dies, it won’t be offscreen. He’s too much of a prominent character at this point. His lack of presence in Rebels though is concerning. Maybe he goes off and lives with Cut at some point. 🤷‍♂️

We already know Gregor turned on the Empire now too @ the TK Trooper Training Compound. W/ more clones realizing this Empire is NOT the Republic, I suspect we'll start seeing more TK, Death, & other conscript troopers into the forefront. Hopefully Hunter gets rescued & we see more of the Bad Batch rescuing clones that defied their inhibitor chips.

I have a Star Wars comic in which one of Lea’s spy’s infiltrate the prison to kill sidoius but he saw them coming so he blows the entire prison up, killing everyone except him and the spy. Which later dies. So did howtzer die in the explosion?!?!?!?!?!
