Great start! Volunteer infantry wore light blue “trowsers” mainly. Regular infantry would have seen those darker blue trowsers.

Thanks for the information, it's always nice to get someone with more expertise on the area to provide clarifying info. Unfortunately as a female, it's hard to find any reenacting communities in eras that I'm interested in where I could reenact as something other than a nurse, so for now I really only collect my own militaria. ShellbackHistory awesome let me know if you ever need info! There are some groups around where I am that are accepting of women as soldiers especially if they do it the correct way and try to make themselves look like men. Like the women would have done at the time!
