Pan is Japanese for bread, like how Gohan is Japanese for cooked rice. Gohan and Pan are forms of cooked grains though, while Saiyans normally have vegetable names, like Kakarot(carrot) and Vegeta(vegetable) As far as I know Goten, Trunks, and Bulla are the only Saiyans with non-food names, Goku as well, but he does have a Saiyan name too. Trunks and Bulla(bra) have clothing names like the rest of Bulma(bloomers)'s family. And Goten is apparently just changing ku/sky to ten/heaven, or at least that was one explanation that made sense to me.

Although Rulah is boy crazy, i think the reason Rulah will have a mix of Bulma and Chi-Chi vibes, it makes sense because Videl was pretty aggressive toward Gohan. Saiyans like strong personalities. my names are Goji, if they decide to keep "go" in their names, also i can see goten being oblivious to the fact that saiyan names are vegetables but his son is named after fruit. and goji berries can be black. I accept and appreciate and respect and support and approve of this idea. We need more African-American representation in Manga/Anime! Especially in Dragon Ball. This is something that I have been wanting to see in Dragon Ball since the beginning of the Super series. We need more Diversity in Manga and Anime and there's actually a Manga called "Clock Striker " that stars the very first African-American girl protagonist in Shonen Jump Manga history. The Manga series is called "Saturday A.M." and they are all about Diversity in their stories.

Pan is also bread in japanese, which might have been the intended reference of her name, not sure if this is confirmed anywhere by toriyama but I always considered her to be named after bread given that saiyans often have names associated with a type of food. Maybe a potential name for their kid could be something like Niku (japanese for meat), or Taro (one of the japanese words for potato) just a couple of potential examples if Toyotaro wanted to stick with the food based naming convention. That being said I think Tray is actually the perfect name for the possibility of Goten and Rulah's kid. I would be legit hyped if they had a kid and the kid ended up being named Tray because it just sounds so perfect.

First, the kid would not be half saiyan… only 1/4. But second, and this has nothing to do with her being black and more about her being human, do we really need more human blending in the saiyan blood lines? Human and human linked characters tend to get dumped on in this series simply because they are human…. Gohan was the first character to show massive potential simply because of his human saiyan hybrid status and tbh ever since he has been washed multiple times and quite recently given one of the most anticlimactic power ups of all time because they realized they made a mistake with him. But we still have yet to see a single human get any type of recognition for the COUNTLESS hours of dedication and absolutely pushing themselves beyond their mortal bounds. So if this portion does not change it wont matter if they are black white, brown, olive or opaque. It will eventually become a character that people simply cannot stay attached to or forgotten about all together. Me personally, i wish that they would revamp the saiyan population just a bit. Bulla and Goten would be a perfect opportunity for this in my opinion. Not to mention now that we have verified female super saiyans in super perhaps there will be something to that as well. Now IF they decide to give human origin the type of recognition and validity it deserves? Then this would be fantastic. But until they make that change i feel its a waste of time.
