If confirmed, it would be the first publicised conversation between the two leaders since Trump exited office. As president, Trump had built close ties with Saudi Arabia, even visiting the kingdom for his first foreign trip. Let's bring a couple of corrections here! 1st it's not true that Trump was never a fan of his NATO allies. But Trump was never a fan of these allies not paying their fare shares of the proceeds.
