There has been some speculation wether the iconic undercut hairstyle from the series Vikings is true or not. Some people outright deny it that they wore their hair like that in that time. But according to reports from that time vikings had long blonde hair while keeping the sides short.

It wasn’t 100% anything, they’re were clean shaven Vikings and bearded ones, they had different haircuts, the one bjorn has in the show Vikings at the beginning before he uses ragnars haircut is actually accurate. A monk was chewed out by another monk in a letter for adopting the hairstyle

Vikings not wearing horned helmets is correct but we know those were used fot cerimonial purrposes if I am not incorrect, although for war the helmets you see in movies like the Northman are more correct. The rest of the video I agree with but I'd say the end is a bit forced because if I am not mistaken, there was not even a word in Old Norse that translated to tattoo, that's a modern misconception, kinda like the Vegvísir

They did not wear leather, besides maybe a belt. they did not have horns on their helmets either. They also wore a hat that looked similar to a mongolian hat during cold winters, and the dressed in very warm wools, with animal hair on the inside sometimes for insulation, leather boots, and bright colors. The show "Vikings Wokehalla", really destroyed what my ancestors looked like. They didnt look like biker dudes with skinny jeans. That show disgusts me. Theres a few old stones where you can see them with long hair, and what looks like long braids in their hair. Also i am Pictish/celt, and Tacitus mentioned the picts had long hair with "Snake" like things coming out of their hair, which were likely twists, or braids. So long braids were common going back to probably 3,000bc.

The only real difference is that I don't have any tattoos on me and I don't want to (unless you count these little symbols I rarely draw on myself with pens just for fun, but even then I wash them off a few hours later because I get bored with them). In case you're wondering, the most recent time I did that temporary tattoo thing was roughly five months ago.

And they were NOT like cavemen in anyway.. the Norse were civilized with laws that were ahead of their age.. they had laws for women and men kinda like today... KINDA. They bathed at least once or twice a week when not raiding. There have been many graves that had hairbrush, toothbrush, comb, etc.

Nordic men were Lean but fit and strong Beards were sign of manhood but weren't necessary They bathed once a week and we're meticulous about their presentation. To the point the english found it weird. They were average height between 5ft7 and 5ft10 for men Long hair was a sign of beauty and health and status and manhood. Usually.boys kept it shorter to distinguish the hierarchy. They wore tunic and pants with draw string and a tied off belt for pouches etc.
