✅ FREE Mini Birth Class - www.builttobirth.com/free-min...
Does the question, “WHAT DO CONTRACTIONS FEEL LIKE” keep you up at night? If so, this video answers that question for you along with other questions that mamas just like you are asking like, “What are braxton hicks”, “How to handle contractions”, and “what does labor feel like”. Sometimes mamas walk into birth feeling afraid of the intensity of contractions. But, when you know what the contractions are doing and how to deal with contractions that are often challenging, fear walks out the door and those contractions are welcomed! In this video you’ll learn what happens during a contraction, contractions during early labor, the stages of labor, and visualizations as you’re managing labor pains. The more you know about small things like what do braxton hicks contractions feel like, to big things like what does labor feel like when it starts, the more confident you’ll walk into your birth experience!

How long can round ligament pain last (from the initial onset at that moment, until you feel pain free again)? I went to ER because I have lower abdominal pain (in the middle rather than one side or the other) that feels like the start of a menstrual period (dull but constant ache/pain). Baby is ok, checked urine and no UTI, and vaginal exam showed I'm not dilated. Discharged with no diagnosis, so not sure if it's round ligament pain. Tylenol did not help. I'm on day two :(

I'm three days postpartum and I feel like I had the easiest labor ever. Idk. I was 7 cm dilated and feel hardly to no contractions. no pain really until I was 8 to 9 cm dilated. I only had three to four hard contractions. It was the time when I had to push. I am so grateful as a first time mom to had such an easy and quick delivery. Edit/ November 4th 2022, prior to giving birth I used to walk a lot from month seven, between half an hour to an hour daily. In the 9th month I did everything they say that would help with natural birth and making it easy, for eg, I ate dates I drank castor oil, I would also eat pineapple and do a lot of squats. There is this thing that is called كهف مريم which I used to drink a lot to make birth quicker and easier. Thankfully it help me a lot. I've decided to share this info as well because I believe some of you maybe wondering how did this magic happen. Lol :)

First time Mom here. I delivered 12/14/21. I didn’t know I was in active labor until I got to about 7 centimeters. My contractions got faster, stronger and longer; so I knew it was time. I couldn’t talk or lie down comfortably anymore. I labored at home for as long as I could. I arrived at my birthing center at 9 centimeters. I finished my transition in the tub for about an hour. I breathed my daughter down and out, didn’t even have to push. My total labor time was under 5 hours. Unmedicated and no complications or issues. I had my first contraction at 1:52. She was born at 6:14 ❤️

One of the most empowering thoughts I remind myself of during labor is that a contraction could never be stronger than I can handle because it’s part of me. It’s not like pain being done to you. This is pressure that comes from deep within your muscles. It is productive pressure.

“FOLLOW YOUR URGE TO PUSH” !!! My OBGYN kept telling me not to push 😤😤😤😤 So much that I started pushing and she almost didn’t even have time to finish putting on her gown 😂 Best advice as I had a natural birth 2 weeks ago, BREATH!!! It sounds crazy but breathing makes a contraction go by so much faster and smoother!!! So take those deep breaths momma and hang on in there because with each contraction your little bundle of joy is getting closer to being in your arms 🥰

@ilearizlucena7118
@ilearizlucena7118 4 жыл бұрын
zdxz xz My main tip would be to believe in yourself. So many weeks leading up to my birth I would cry and be anxious because I didn’t believe I could do it. You need to stay calm and truly believe that our bodies were meant to do this. Now with that said, also listen to your heart. If you are hurting too much, if you feel like the pain is unbearable and your souls is hurting please consider an epidural. It’s not worth to suffer. Your birth is supposed to be this special moment where you give your all of your strength to meet your baby and you don’t want to be miserable. And you definitely don’t want to make it a traumatizing experience. You got this mama! I believe in you!
@Realshugarbaby

Omg the same thing happened to me. They told me it would take at LEAST another 4 hours. But I was in so much pain I just listened to my body and started pushing anyway (they left me ALL ALONE, my hudband was on his way). When my husband got there I told him "something's happening. Go get a doctor". The doctor came in super mad at me that I was "bothering him" since the nurse that checked me said it would take a few more hours. Well, he changed his shitty behavior once he checked my vagina and saw a head coming through! He started freaking out and telling me to wait. Sorry sweetie you made me wait enough. He wanted me to deliver with my OB! Idiot. I don't care I'm not waiting. Less than 10min later she was in my arms. Never giving birth in a hospital again. I'm almost to my due date with number two and I have a midwife this time ❤

My first child 11 yrs ago I went into labor at 8 am on my due date the only reason I thought I was in labor was because the cramping was consistent throughout the hours passing. But they lasted all day for me and I didn't go to the hospital until 3am. Didn't get an epidural until I was 5 cm but that was a mistake. No one told me it would prolong anything. I wasn't in pain to even have one. I personally think I could have handled it completely without meds. 17 weeks now and I plan on not touching meds this time. I just dont think Ill need it. And after the clusterf*** of with my old hospital and Dr during labor? I welcome the pain over the screw ups.

Pushing was the worst for me, although that wasn't a pain thing. I honestly don't even remember that hurting, more pressure than anything. What I remember was being for whatever reason unreasonably afraid of pushing. This was my fourth baby (currently pregnant with baby 5, hopefully a home birth) and the hospital staff just kept saying push, push, push, and it was driving me nuts. I just wanted a minute to breathe but the medically unnecessary urgency in everyone's voice invoked fear in me and I had a LOT of trouble bearing down. This, this time, a home birth!

Lol 3-5 min was my early labor. When I hit active labor, my contractions were 10 sec apart. However, learn to breathe, have a good partner, and some things to make you comfortable. It’ll help you get through it! On the way to labor. Stretch, walk, exercise to your ability, and drink a ton of water! Your body can do it.

How long from early labor did you go into active labor??
@heatherlongmore5831
@heatherlongmore5831 2 жыл бұрын
@@evelynespinoza2462 from 3a-9p. I was stuck in early labor for hours with hard contractions like squeezing with my first. And then I was stuck in transition from 9p-2a at 5cm w/contractions feeling like pulling down from my ribs to my pelvic bones 10sec apart. After I got an epidural, it wore off by 7a and I was only at a 7. I didn’t have her until about 11a. I pushed for 30min My 2nd was much better because I practiced hypnobirthing, had practiced yoga and the miles circuit and Robozo sifting to get her in place, and was much more aware of my body. I was in early labor for a few hours in tolerable notices (I wouldn’t say pain) and had about 3 hours of active labor which still felt like pulling, but with the hypnobirthing, felt much more purposeful and less painful. I pushed for a couple min 🥰

Thanks for the content! I'm glad they're resources online like this. It's amazing cus I "thought" I felt prepared before I had my son, however I believe sometimes nothing can really prepare you for child birth. From my personal experience and talking with other mamas, every baby and every birthing experience will be very different. Prior to my experience, I assumed my birth would be something similar to mamas I've spoke with. Nope. I intended to have a natural birth but that didn't work out when I prodromal labor. For those who don't know what that is, it's essentially false contractions that come and go, & sometimes labor doesn't progress. Well my false contractions went on for a week straight (day in and day out) and nothing progressed. Finally, Kaiser stripped my membrane, but that was only due part of me calling them every second and making suggestions. It was unfortunate cus I feel like Kaiser failed me and dismissed my concerns (considering I was already 40 weeks and should be able to make decisions with my own body). Ultimately, I ended up with infections and a fever, & both the baby and myself were beyond stressed. Hence one of the reasons he wasn't breathing immediately when I delivered. In addition to everything, my sleep and diet that week was so poor that I lost about 10lbs. Overall, I wish I had more guidance from Kaiser cus as a first time mama, this was a lot to soak in. Btw my experience is not to scare anyone, but just inform cus it's so helpful when you can relate to other people. Prodromal labor was the worst pain I've ever experienced, but fortunately my labor and delivery was easy. Prodromal labor shifted my original plan of doing "natural" and I ended up getting an epidural. It's crazy cus I never even knew what prodromal labor was till it happened to me. & apparently it's common from what Kaiser stated? Yet I haven't personally met anyone with having a similar story like myself nor anything about prodromal labor. Moral of story: be prepared to be unprepared sometimes. Just remember this pain is only temporary. It's amazing how strong us women are & what our bodies can endure. The worst pain of my life, resulted in the best experience of my life, cus that gave me my son. I feel beyond blessed that I had an opportunity to even get pregnant and have a healthy baby boy. & the crazy part? I would genuinely do it all over again cus being a mama is the best thing that has ever happened to me. Stay safe mamas & sending all the positive vibes during this time! 💛

With my first, as soon as I hit 5 cm, my contractions overlapped so much I had 0 break in pain. At 8 cm, I had a visceral need to push... I had to breath and focus to NOT push but sometimes it was a feeling so strong my body didn't obey me. Ended up delivery naturally and unmedicated after 13 hours of active labour. Phew. Hoping the second will be a bit less rock n roll

I am now on week 34 and have the exact same symptoms. I am also a first-time mom, and it took me a while to realise they are contractions. I only realised I was having contractions while explaining what I feel to my boyfriend, the only way I could explain it was: "the muscles of the uterus are... contracting", it is not real pain but it's definitely uncomfortable. I also had what you describe: feeling of sickness and acute pain in the stomach region, which lasted for a while, so much so I wasn't fit to go to work at all those days.

I had 36 hours of 1 minute contractions every minute - very painful - way too long as well - ended up with emergency c-section. I was beyond exhausted and had little joy when baby was taken from my body. It’s clear like it was yesterday - but 35 years ago. In hospital for 12 days. Never again and I didn’t go back for more. Just my experience. I think being quite naive and not having the right Doctor added to the traumatic birth. Thank heavens new mins to be have more knowledge and assistance from the midwives.

My son is going to be 1 month tomorrow so it's pretty fresh in my mind. I had strong back contractions for the majority of my labor. It felt like I was bending the wrong way. I 100% blacked out often. I tried to breathe through them and I think it was easier to get through them when my boyfriend was joking with me. It also felt like my hips were ON FIRE. It helped SO SO MUCH when he pushed my hips together towards my spine. They felt the same just changed intensity.

If you have this again (if you have another baby) laboring alternating between the tub (sit sideways with knees spread and sort of hang over the edge of the tub) and laboring on hands and knees really helps. I had back contractions during my first experience. I wonder how front contractions feel compared to back contractions. Worse? Not as bad? I paced out my pain, that was my automatic reaction that helped with the pain until I couldn’t withstand it and needed something or someone (my partner) to hold onto. It’s amazing that the body essentially does everything on its own (pushing) and we just help it along. Your videos helped me mentally prepare and I went into L&D without fear. Thank you!

There isn’t back or front contractions. I think you are meaning back labor? Which just means pressure posteriorly due to babies position.

I had front contractions only. They were soooo painful but then again I think my body was just tired of pain since my labor lasted 3 days.

@@coutureitup You do have different type of contractions. Some have back contractions in the lowerback, others experience contractions in the front lower part of their belly. And there are woman who experience leg contractions, sometimes explained as pain arpind the butt and anus.

I am on baby #3, my first two births were extremely painful. I had “back labor” with both. So it was a very much so excruciating pain in my back. I am PRAYING this time I don’t have back labor as I have heard it is more painful than regular labor

Haha no, same! It feels like mild period cramps so far, but they mainly only happen at night... I'm like "Is this it??"

First time mom here. Already gone into labor and delivery twice with painful af contractions 1 minute long and 5 minutes apart like they say it's supposed to be, but never actual labor 🙃👍

My water broke at 37 weeks when I was 0 cm dilated. They had to induce me since I wasn’t in labor. Within 3 hours it went from mild cramps every 10 minutes to my insides trying to push themselves out every 3 minutes. After 10 hours of terrible contractions I finally asked for the epidural. I was only 4cm dilated. My boy had his umbilical cord wrapped around his body so his heart was having trouble-ended up with an emergency c section. It was my first and I didn’t know that inducing will cause faster more painful contractions. Makes sense.
