The Chinese spy ballon that flew over the continental mainland for more than a week truly signifies what’s going to happen next. It doesn’t take a genius to understand what that means. Reconnaissance is a mission to obtain information by visual observation or other detection methods, about the activities and resources of an enemy.

Well, they could do that with GoogleMaps, the balloon is to see activities and what they could see c unfortunately, the advanced stuff they want to see is under wraps, it’s crazy to think that it bypassed aerial patrol, sending a balloon to avoid radar was smart of them. They won’t win in a war with the US, they’ll need help, and they’re trying to get Russia and Iran on board. Still, what they have may be good but it is not on par with the USA. The one thing we could worry about is that they’ll have way more people that can be mobilized. The USA has far more Allie’s than the new ‘Axis’, or whatever they’ll call themselves.

I implore young men to avoid service in todays military. It’s a giant circle jerk and meat grinder, where none of the aspects of the warrior ethos are found. If you want to be a warrior, inculcate yourself with an indomitable will through accomplishing difficult challenges away from becoming a tool for a a country that has forsaken you. Love your fellow man but pursue martial, healthy hobbies. Legendary U.S. Marine and two time Medal of Honor recipient Smedley Butler said it best in his iconic “War is a Racket”, “ Let the officers and the directors and the high-powered executives of our armament factories and our steel companies and our munitions makers and our ship-builders and our airplane builders and the manufacturers of all other things that provide profit in war time as well as the bankers and the speculators, be conscripted” Semper Fi.

I have my reasons. I’ve always wanted to be US Army, and even a Green Beret. I haven’t accomplished much, and I know if I can have my picture, diploma, and maybe a degree just hanging on the wall for my parents and family members to see on the way out and on the way home. I can set an example that I am not a failure and my brothers could follow in my footsteps. There isn’t anyone in my family that have served and all this time, the USAF have made it possible for us to live the lives we had. It is my turn to do something for other families, no matter how big or small, in battle or not. I am going. There will be nothing to deter me, only a turn down from the branches. It is way to have purpose for myself. I have a stronger patriotism than before. If it wasn’t for active and retired servicemen, I wouldn’t probably ever thought of doing this. I have always wanted to go, I should’ve had role models in my life. I didn’t, I became my own and also used the stories of heroes to fuel myself. It is a sense of duty, commitment, determination and dedication. To strengthen myself in all areas of my body. To die contentedly. Knowing I have achieved more than everything I have ever done. There is almost an absence of Americans who shy away and not give enough love, respect c appreciation, salute, and honor to those who gave their life for their country, people, and for their respective branches. I want to do the same. I, too, will sacrifice blood, swear, tears, limbs, and lifespan for the future generations. If there is no ethos, you’ll just have to be the one that carries it and set a prime example for others to follow. Just because there isn’t any, doesn’t mean you can’t make any or have any yourself. I fear the US may be in a war within the next 40 years. China is on a rapid rise and may try to spread its sphere of influence. I’ll be aged out by then, if it really is a WW, then I’m sure veterans can prove quite useful.

You sound like me back when I made my decision to go. I wish you great luck and wisdom - things the institution will not teach you - to go along with your romantic view on life. Moreover, I wish you specifically the faith and confidence in yourself (away from the acquisition of fleeting institutional accomplishments you mentioned) in order to overcome yourself and live a life of quiet peace. Even Alexander the Great, who modeled himself after the Illiad's Achiles, and whom Julius Caesar envied for his accomplishment and lamented the lack of his own in comparison, admitted that if he was to be anybody else but himself, that he would chose to be Diogenes - the homeless philosopher of the Agora. They serve their own agenda and not an agenda for the people, country, and the prosperity for the future generations. They must secure this, if we are to have a country they can handle the greatness of our country, the USA. No weakling can ever be in the shoes of President. Only a leader. A true one. That doesn’t think of self, but for others and the country. That doesn’t work with lobbyists and groups that want to play Olympus. They must be more than a ‘god’. A hero. That’s hard to find nowadays, cause everyone is mainly for themselves.
