There are way too many people in this comment section that didn't get the Masked Dedede joke.

The look of pure horror on Luigi’s face as he sees an unmasked shy guy… he’s the only other Nintendo character that knows what a shy guy’s face looks like. They might actually just have no face though, in the Golden Coliseum in Paper Mario Color Spalsh, a shy guy says to Mario, “You reek of confidence. And you have a face. You’d make a terrible shy guy.” He might just be referring to his face being hidden, but I’m kind of unsure now.

Hal Laboratory really needs to develop Meta Knight's backstory and his connection to Kirby. We've known these two are the same species for decades and that Meta Knight doesn't truly consider Kirby an enemy despite their battles so what does he really want with Kirby?

Cubone is pretty underwhelming without his skull but that could just be a case of the manufacturer having no choice to put something there for the actual plush to hold firmly. As for Shy Guys, I would not be surprised it there REALLY was nothing under their mask, creepy as they are. Also, the Shy Guy ghosts in Luigi's Mansion are not real, they are created by Vincent Van Gore so that's how HE sees them.

For the shy guy, i think it's a boo. In one of the yoshi island game, in some levels, we se boos with a shy guy mask on. It doesn't necessarily mean that shy guy= boo , but it's still cool to know

2:27 reminds me of the ending of Halo CE where master chief takes off his helmet, but in the normal game it is blocked by a part of the ship he’s on. If you use hacks to tilt the camera angle where you can see it, he duplicates his helmet when he takes it off.

In smash, if you cycle through the costumes for Kirby, wait until you reach the final one, or the one before the cycle repeats itself, and it'll show a black Kirby with purple shoes and glowing yellow eyes. This has been confirmed to be unmasked Meta Knight.

Fun fact about Cubone. In the Detective Pikachu movie, it’s pretty clear to see a good portion of Cubone’s face when he appears at the beginning. While we don’t ever see him unmasked, the animators clearly had his entire face modeled underneath the skull. We just don’t have behind the scenes images of such. It leaves you wondering whether or not they were provided any references of Cubone’s actual face by GameFreak. Those animators would be the only ones to know!

There is concept art for a Cubone without skull from Gen 1. Also, a glimpse of his head could be seen in an episode of the anime tv show.

5:26 Actually, we did seen 9-Volt taken off his helmet during at Trick & Treat Scene in WarioWare Gold as well and his Opening in WarioWare: Get It Together as well. Also, there's two Pokémon Gym Leaders wear masks are Brycen from Unova and Allister from Galar do wear masks as well.

Shy Guy isn't meant to be without his mask. It's either a 2nd mask model hidden somewhere, or a flat surface. From a design perspective, why would the designers need to add some features that won't be realistically seen? However, they might be related to Sniffits, so the maskless ghost versions seem reasonable. Nabbit's similar in not having unneeded details behind his mask, but he's never without his Bowser Jr mask at all. Cubone's weird, possibly even crazy, since apparently all of their mothers died and they must wear the skulls of their mothers as tradition for grieving. Can we have like, a regional form or something where that doesn't happen? Guess it's a part of their character, but come on (then again, similarities to Charmander are good enough). Mimikyu's some ghastly entity that stole Pikachu's identity, or else you get cursed or whatever.
