In Ross Nichols book “The Moses Scroll” and in his videos, he suggests the Tora of Moses is much shorter than what we consider the Tora today. I wonder how Paul would match up with Nichols’ view? The Tora of Moses if I understand Nichols’ correctly, is between Deuteronomy chapter 11 and the death of Moses and is contained in the fist person verses.

I visited the compound a few years ago, met the nice people, they had large photos on the church walls of the feds posing in front of the burnt copses, they accused the feds of taking 'trophy photos'.

Dr Tabor, I tends to think Jesus does forbid eating any form of meat. From Homilies XII, Peter does specifically state that eating meat is equivalent to devil worshipping, not just restricted to sacrificial meat.. Please, can you explain what Peter meant?

Perhaps Paul's "contradictions" could be seen in light of the 2 pieces of paper? I know it's from a much later tradition, but it harkens back to more ancient sources. Rabbi Simcha Bunim said: “In every coat there should be two pockets. In one pocket should be a piece of paper that reads, ‘For my sake was the world created (Mishnah Sanhedrin 4:5).’ In the other should be a piece of paper that reads, ‘I am only dust and ashes (Genesis 18:27).'”

David's understanding of the sure mercies comes with his vision in the Proton Psalm. As faith grows (the true meaning of "hebrew" being πολυμερος,) one is approaching the mercy seat. Jesus now the begotten son, co-reigns with the father (right?) as king of kings and lord of lords. Faith for forgiveness grows with each portion of grace. And it is reflected in us. You understand that some feared entering the holy of holies, lest they sin in thoughts. But holiness is both a quickening of the mind, and a faith that the king in his mercy has forgiven our wrong thinking BEFORE it actually occurs. A good father, for example, has his mind fixed in a state of forgiveness for a young child. I would think it is important for a student to understand the word clusters relative to each grace. If you were to read some work outside the Bible, one important way to judge its authenticity is see if the key words are all within the same cluster.

We have these distinct examples of historical messiahs that Rome put down. Why do we even need a historical Jesus of Gallilee when we have Judas of Gallilee and a Shepherd King? Those sound like you can get biblical Jesus just by applying Paul's Logos-theology to these failed messiahs, and just add time and the telephone game. Later generations decided it really needed to be a historical Jesus, due to criticisms, and so they write the Gospels to "prove" their messiah.

I've read or heard somewhere that Paul could have been a Herodian, hence he was a Roman citizen.

As you said, the Romans put down rebellions with tremendous force. If Jesus had raised the ire of the authorities, but Roman and Jewish, because he was thought to be proclaiming himself king of the Jews, the Romans would have slaughtered ALL his followers. Which then raises questions like who was left to go find the tomb empty, why wouldn't Joseph of "Bestdiscipletown" hauled in and questioned, who would be left to pass on stories of the events of Jesus's life? Which then suggests there isn't much real history in the gospels. Certainly the gospel writers could not have gleamed much of this from Paul's writings, too.

If we can find syncretism to Paul and Dionysus in the Bacchae, why should we believe Paul is not a character in the Christian pageant?

I always wondered what Paul meant when he said he persecuted Christians with a clear conscience. Like, God was ok with it because, why?How many deaths was he responsible for? The only things we know about the Apostle Paul are in the New Testament. There is little to no other information that exists in the world. Now, let's take 2-hours to say that.

Does Dr Tabor believe in life after death ??

Three paul variants?... Regardless of historical facts or to what extent one can confidently credit an author of certain NT scriptures, the basis for a belief in "God" perhaps begins with acknowledging there is a divine creator. Through written documents an unique group of people (Hebrews, Israelites) were able to convey or begin to express the traits/attributes of such a being/entity, commonly referred to as the Father, most which by His Son. This implies a male gender Dr. Tabor. At 59:00 you seem to be mixing Matt 19 : 4 (Mark 12 : 25) and Matt 22 : 30, both of which marriage (between a man and a woman) becoming one flesh after the resurection is the teaching… He is the God of the living. This is a reference to Enoch, one's body and spirit coming together. Futhermore, saul/paul goes as far as placing women in an inferior class in 1 Cor 11 : 17, where in Gen 1 : 27 they both are created in the image of 'God.' God said that man needed a helper… Adam version 2.0 was Eve and they were given a command to procreate. Those OT writings have, over the course of human civilization, provided a way of life and governance for those who chose to recognize the higher authority. Many laws (and rights) today are derived from those precepts (remember line upon line, precept upon precept in lsa 28 : 9-10). Further maintained in the belief that Jesus is the Word that became flesh. Throughout scripture, a basis is formed that reveals the nature of that creation, including the creator Himself. Thus, where saul/pauls writings are said to have varying degrees of confidence clearly undermines Jesus in the gospels and sadly promotes saul/paul selected reasonings. Likewise, the Torah has been shown to have multiple authors, but that doesn't discredit it. In other words, biblical truth can be established on two or three witnesses within the limits of scripture (Holy Bible and Dead Sea material).

There is nothing about Paul that makes me believe he was a recognized pharuisee authority. He is ignorant of the Hebrew scriptures, and quotes mostly from the Septuagint and in highly misleading ways. Even aside from his radically heretical Hellenistic theology, neither the tone or the content of his writings sound anything like a Pharisee , whether it be his Greek erudition or his pompous boasts about being the greatest scholar of them all. Although there are records of other Jewish scholars that later became a heretics (eg Acher AKA Elisha Ben Avuya), there is no Legacy of Paul in rabbinic tradition. Tell me he comes across as a shameless self promoter, who can convince naive Gentiles of his impressive pedigree because how would they know any better, just like anyone from India can show up in California and claim to have been some kind of Grandmaster Guru back in India and no one would be the wiser

Saturday was only chosen for the Jewish 'sabbath' by Heliel II about 300 years after Christ. He standardised the Jewish calendar. Even before that the weekly 'sabbath' they kept was the Babylonian lunar 'sabbath' that the Pharisees introduced and enforced in the Synagogues after the Temple was destroyed in 70AD. The true weekly Sabbath was already hidden by the Pharisees in favour of the Babylonian lunar interpretation of the Biblical calendar. In 2008 after I repented and wrote a little book and heard," call it Wings of an Eagle". I went 9 months without allowing any sexual thought. I was sleeping on a rooftop of a hostile in the old city Jerusalem then when the streak ended with a sexually explicit dream, and I woke to the sound of silver coins bouncing across a tile floor.
