These are the babies I raised from eggs. Remember them?
Well, they're all grown and 5 months old now and I realize that I think I have too many roosters. I can't tell because I sometimes see who crows a lot, but sometimes I don't. I could have 7 or 8 roosters. UGH!
See if you can tell who is a rooster and who isn't.
*** Update: I had 8 roosters. We culled 4 roosters recently, but Brian culled 2 other ones before these ones, who were total a-holes. I kept a big, beautiful rooster who will remain the head of the flock. I have one small Rhode Island Red rooster (I had 3 roosters out of the 4 hatched by Rhode Island Red mama) who I decided to keep. He's the sweetest little thing. He doesn't crow and I think he might be a little "off", if you know what I mean, but he's seems to love me, so he gets to stay too.
It is amazing how much calmer that coop and run are. It's light night and day. The hens are probably super relieved.
