No hate to trans ppl, but it’s a WOMENS beauty pageant. For women. I understand that trans women are, women but that doesn’t mean they can be in a WOMENS beauty pageant. Why can’t we have a separate trans women beauty pageant? That would make it fair. What’s worse is that if we call them out, we’ll be canceled for being “transphobic”. I’m a member of the community, (I’m not trans, I’m bi) and I think this is bs.

I’ve been living as a transsexual man for over half my life and things like this is why so many of us step away from the transgender community as soon as we transition and start passing. The poor women in this competition that lost worked endlessly and tirelessly to maintain the perfect body and appearance and the ‘winner’ has practically won based purely on political concept. That’d be like an average dad bod entering into a bodybuilding competition and winning based on the fact he’s ‘relatable to the average guy’. It’s tiring watching so many blatant crossdressers trying to feed off of the trials, tribulations, rights and accomplishments of sufferers of dysphoria. You can see the amount of work and effort the transsexual women towards the end of the short have put into their journey and it’s admirable. They have done everything in their power to blend in because no one with dysphoria wants to stand out for being trans. It makes the condition flare up worse. The only type of admiration I can see this winner getting is a vapid admiration from politically-charged queer teenagers who wouldn’t understand dysphoria if it smacked them round the head. I know I’m babbling, but it pertains to a much bigger issue and misunderstanding of what it means to be trans. I wish I could shake some sense into these people until they understand that the TRUE trans experience is more than clothes and pronouns. Its not about the expression, it’s about the psychology. It’s about the trauma that comes from being psychologically unaligned with your biological reality, and learning to overcome it. It’s a very painful thing to go through. Discomfort when people don’t agree with your political ideologies is not a symptom of dysphoria. Wearing androgynous clothes doesn’t invoke “gender euphoria”, it just means that’s how you like to dress. And, for the love of god, preaching politics won’t do anything meaningful. It’ll have people standing on eggshells around these types of people, but it won’t make them subconsciously accept. Only transition and effort will do that. We as transsexual people have fought tooth and nail to get where we are today as individuals and as a minority. Switching pronouns does not make someone entitled to special treatment. The only special treatment we should be entitled to is dysphoria-orientated spoken therapies for alleviation and medical transition into a transsexual person as a last resort for incurable cases. Apart from that, we carry ourselves just like anyone else. Not like this.
