As a heavy-duty mechanic, i can say these sockets are legit. I work on big caterpillar equipment and trucks and i beat the snot out the sockets and they have held up. Awesome quality and price and variety. The swivles are still in good condition. Highly recommend to techs who don't want to chop their left nut sack to snap on

Sometime people forget that there's some good tools brand other than snap and mac tools. Sunex is one of those. good tools and not to expensive. Tekton also make some good tools

@Phill Huddleston - and the Snap-On guy will give you shit about replacing any of the sockets if they fail. It will clearly be your negligence and therefore not covered under warranty.

aeromedical67 Most if these Snap-on junkies don’t even realize that second hand or passed down Snap-on tools carry no legal valid warranty. The warranty only applies to original purchaser.

@Watching Silently - and I can kind of understand that. Nike shoes has (or at least used to) a very liberal return policy for truly defective shoes. People quickly figured this out and would abuse this by buying a used pair at someplace like Goodwill, rough them up to make them appear defective, and them turn them in to Nike for a brand new pair. I totally get Snap-On’s position regarding the warranty being only to the original customer.

I know what you mean about drunk buying, as I have just bought several tools including several sunex tools. I can honestly say that sunex tools are very high quality and I've used them for years as a professional mechanic and I've never had a single one fail, impact or otherwise. I have used them for years and they have always been quality tools. I plan on buying many more, except I'll buy them from Amazon instead of paying twice as much from a tool truck.

As a mobile guy I love that companies are making "decent" travel cases. It's so much nicer to grab two boxes out of the truck then start rummaging through the box to find the socket rail you want. Plus you know exactly what you didn't put back when you go to close it ... Saves me tons in beer$ spent on replacing things I lost lol

I just bought this set I've had it for a whole month and they're worth every penny ..I have another set that I still use I've had them for 3 years daily use I and I have yet to break one!.. and that is daily use with a 3/8 Ingersoll Rand titanium impact gun... 30 year plus mechanic and believe me I have had everything from Snap-on to Mac to Matco... and I purchased these to replace my Snap-on set which I've probably lost about half of those..I like these better than the snap-on's and you get a lot more for about a 1/5 of the damn price.. Snap-on is so ridiculously overpriced and pay attention to their tools now... about half of their stuff is also made in Taiwan.. tools don't even say usa-made anymore.. but yet the price keeps going up and up and up

I have sockets from S-K, S/O, Mac and Sunex. The Sunex work as well as any "Tech" brands at a fraction of the price. Tekton also has good impact sockets, have a set of 1/2 drive ones kept in truck for emergency tire removal and those are even less expensive than the Sunex; but the Sunex sets in my opinion, at least, are the most complete for the money and have held up even with regular usage. For a tech just starting out or a serious home DIY, this is a great choice with no regrets later...

The repeated mention of the side tabs and rear seam crack me up. The case is designed to keep it together for shipping and then be cut away to become a tool organizer in a drawer. Most professional mechanics will have them on rails almost immediately for easy access in the top of their service cart so the box is a really mute point. Ultimately both sets are a heck of a deal for any tech that is starting off and needs enough tools to fulfil their job duties without destroying hardware and their bank account or senior techs that respect the limits of their tools and don't worry about warranty coverage being quick. Wish they were CrMo but can still get a healthy life span from the CrV. I also feel like the Sunex set feel less porous than the Pittsburg castings. Good presentation of the product and limited opinion biased review. I like a good honest "It is what it is" video. Keep em coming!

C'mon Big Dog50001! That's a good set, don't care where it's made. Taiwan tools of today are not the same of yesteryear. Even the first GearWrench tool I ever laid eyes on had "Made in Taiwan" on it. Now look at that company! Might not be made in the U.S. but they've had plenty practice makin' th' stuff. Seems you can't totally avoid the Asian stuff, but what can ya do? Sunex stuff is good even though their stuff is made in different parts of Asia. Who cares? Well, I'll put it this way, I don't. Had NO "probs" with th' stuff and they don't skip sizes either. my expeirence with sunex impact sockets... i have not found ones that hold up better, even at twice the price, made in the US. Sunex can go thinner, cause it's cr-m and doesn't need anywhere near the material a cr-v socket does to have even more strength.

The problem with those and most other ones with a lifetime warranty you can not take them to a store . I am 55 so me and my dad who was a mechanic for over 50 years. So even though sears closed within 50 miles from me If I really need something I just got a harbor fright open within 40 miles plus home depot . I do not how good there weren't works . I know the older craftsman tools from the older days are a lot better than the new ones. I also know that I have taken back rusted rachics to sears and no ? asked .

I have an old Craftsman impact and it was made in Taiwan and was just stamped with the size. So even comparing this to what should be an American brand, Sunex still wins out. But I do have to say that I’ve beat the heck out of those old Taiwanese Craftsman sockets.

I stumbled upon this video and started watching... You say "Made in Taiwan - not as good as US". You do understand that the manufacturing process, as well as the steel composition are no secrets, don't you? It all comes to what the company wants to bring to the market; in regards to quality and price. Be advised that you can find crap tools (crap anything, for the same matter) made here in the US, as well as stunningly well built tools of outstanding quality made wherever, including Taiwan. The assessment of origin in regards to quality would only work if a certain place on earth would not have access to whatever technology and/or materials to manufacture those. Not the case with Taiwan... And than there are German tools which piss on all other tools regardless of origin!
