My favorite course in the area! It is a great course that doesn't kill your wallet

Old South is a fun course. Medium difficulty. Fairly priced. I believe I've seen every type of wildlife on the course. They have these large squirrels that are ONLY found in Bluffton SC. Strange color patterns and behavior. Deer , turkey , armadillos , osprey I'm not afraid of alligators at all , but you NEED to be a bit careful on this course when approaching the water areas. There are several LARGE alligators on the property. If you don't understand alligators - most times they'll just walk swim away - but when the females nest - they will come after you - and God help you if they surprise you. Their breeding /nesting / laying / hatching season is from mid June thru the beginning of Sept. They will defend their babies like any other animal. Historically it's been a great value course -BUT during June / 24 the greens were SO BAD - 2 of them were closed off / under repair and they cut alternate greens beside them. You paid for 18 and got to play 16 actual holes - remembering the original16 usable greens were ALL in disrepair. ALL !!! The starter is fixated on time. You may go a second early but generally there are no early starts and you'd better not be late. The practice range is ....... a practice range. There's a very large chip / putt green across the path from the practice range. Several holes play over or adjacent to water or a hazard. 2 holes play off the tee to a landing zone and then on to the hole. There are several protected wetland areas - so if your ball is gone - your ball is gone - the end. Carts are now GPS fence / restricted - so they are tracking / fencing you on the course. The cart will cut itself off and you have to back out in reverse.

Not even close. This is a budget course.
