I agree with you on the federal and provincial parts for sure. When it comes to municipal governments, though, we have been forced to absorb more and more responsibilities which costs more to operate. At the municipal level, we only have revenue source and that is the ratepayer. We can't waste money like the higher levels seem to do and don't seem to give a shit if they do. I know this for fact because I am a reeve for a municipality in rural Manitoba. If things Don't change soon there will municipal governments that will be lucky to provide the basic services.

There are 3 levels of government and only one tax payer {municipalities prefer to call them ratepayers} There really is a limit to how much the taxpayer can bear. Municipalities need to use logic when spending after the money is gone. My township cut on snowplowing and built a new $8,5 million library. @@chesbollman8653

You are spot on. I thought I was the only one who was saying this. Municipal property tax increases every year just so public sector employees can have a raise. Provincial taxes and of course the many federal taxes we pay, which are just another form of theft. Add in the never ending insurance premium increases on home and auto. Good luck trying to get away for a one week vacation. Only politicians get that luxury.
