I love these videos where Joel introduces The Warning to legendary artists. I like that Dizzy Reed was genuinely impressed. No need to possibly embarrass him by bringing up the fact that The Warning opened for GnR several months ago. I'm sure Dizzy will get a laugh when he reads the comments. Keep it positive and thank you, Joel, for these great reactions!

I understand those of us within The Warning Army have great affection for Dany, Pau & Ale personally. I do too. With that said…nothing is owed to an opening act, other than the opportunity to play in front of a much larger crowd than they can draw on their own. GnR’s team absolutely delivered on that. The Warning did their part and made the most of it. Now a member of that headlining band says NICE THINGS about their music in this video, but rather than focus on that positive, we’re choosing to publicly complain that the headliner wasn’t friendly enough to them last year? Imagine Skynyrd fans back in ‘73 getting upset because Townshend and Daltrey didn’t do a photo op with them during the Quadrophenia Tour. Sounds kind of silly, right? I’m pretty sure we know Ronnie Van Zant would have been just fine. The opportunity was the most important thing. I don’t claim to speak for The Warning, but I’ll bet they would rather we be nice to a fellow artist who is saying nice things about them.

Good point. Emphasis the positive. Although, no sound check and the dressing room was a tent? That did rankle. But given GnR's hard partying reputation and the fact thT Ale was still under-18 then, maybe GnR thought it prudent to keep their distance from TW. And anyhow this may well be standard form for relations 'tween support and the headliners. Maybe Joel can throw some light on this. And it is kinda cool seeing a seasoned pro like Dizzy being impressed by TW. Anyway, IIRC & FWIW, at an intimate gig in Canada, Paul & Dany - Ale wasn't well - both commented on the experience with, "We got to open for Guns and Roses!" I think they appreciated the opportunity.

He didn't seem to recognize BAND-MAID after Joel told him they opened for G&R, either. I imagine he's seen hundreds of bands in his time, so they all bleed together. Maybe these second impressions will stick with him a little longer. 🤞

I thought about being snarky, like saying maybe: "Dizzy should know who they are, GnR closed for them in Monterrey a few months ago." 🤔 Or maybe: "Axl should have met Pau, the only rocker out there shorter than he is." 😆 But no, I'll take the high road (too late) and just be appreciative that Dizzy liked the girls. Well done Joel. TWA appreciates that you make more and more established artists aware of TW. Surely some will like it more than others, but that's how it is. As many have commented, TW opened for GnR and that Dizzy did not know them is still curious, to call it something without further comment.

Hey Joel! I know tours are long, so I am not surprised Dizzy had heard of them, but not that familiar with them, even though The Warning opened for GNR in Monterrey, MX last year in October. In his defense, GNR did tour all over Europe, Latin America, Asia and Oceania in 2022, and I am pretty sure The Warning did not meet GNR at the show in October. Also, GNR were supposed to play Welcome to Rockville in Daytona in 2022, where The Warning also played, but had to cancel due to weather concerns.

I saw a recent interview with Billy Corgin when asked about the other bands in the recent World is a Vampire fest. He said he was shown a list a possible bands from Mexico and noticed that TW was listed and said that yes he had heard of them and to add them to the show. (more or less paraphrasing here).

Guns N Roses is a 30 year old band famous for being terrible live. They had some great songs but are there even any original members left? I don't know why it's still a thing. This guy was like 5 years old when Guns N Roses was popular.

@@Jordan-Ramses I don't understand it either. I'm old, grey and getting close to the grave. I remember GNR entering the scene. On day 1 they were the greatest new thing. On day 2 they were a joke. How they packed stadiums when the fans knew they may not show up or walk off after a song or two has always blown my mind. Decades later they can still draw 50,000+. HOW???????????????

@Hmmm maybe they are actually good live now? It wouldn't surprise me. But it isn't the same band. I have no problem with a glorified cover band. I like cover bands. But it's strange. I don't know. Maybe I'm wrong and it's mostly the original members? But I thought Axl Rose and Slash are gone?

This is no knock on you Joel, I appreciate how you expose veteran Rockers to up and coming bands. Let me first say that my opinion is not shared by the ladies, they were thrilled for the opportunity to support a legendary band like GnR in their home town last October. But many of us in TWA were not happy that GnR didn’t take five minutes to meet the girls before or after the show. We understand it was a one off and things are chaotic but every band TW has toured with lately have been completely impressed with not only the girls talent on stage but also how endearing they are as people. Ironically, the sisters did meet GnR road crew and said they were all great! In the end I think it’s a bigger loss for GnR than it is for Dany, Pau and Ale.

A touring band often doesn't see the opening act. There's a story of a Canadian star sitting in his dressing room when he hears the opening act's sound coming through the walls and realizes he knows several of the tunes, so he went up to watch and meet them. I'd be interested to know what DIzzy said when Disciple started.

@@g.garcia7151 True…in the case of the Foo Fighters, the video seems to indicate they made an effort to wait for them as they came out for their show. Not so sure if it would’ve happened otherwise…still great that Dave Grohl came over to give them a high five and ask how it went. 🤘🤘

@@abjbusti8586 I recall reading that David Grohl is very involved in selecting the Foo Fighters support bands, and he's the kind of good guy who will go out of his way to support their support bands, as it were. Lzzy Hale has long known of The Warning and had expressed a desire to tour with them, and Muse was also aware of them thanks to Ale's bass cover of Hysteria. I don't know the background of Three Days Grace, but they certainly went well above and beyond in support.

It was just my observation in this case that it took some effort from DPA to ensure the encounter would happen and Dave handled it beautifully in my opinion. Not sure the same opportunity was there for a GnR meeting, but it was nice to hear their crew had very nice things to say about TW team.

The warning will be opening for them in august 2023 and in september they will be at hardrock live hollywood FL also in TN, the warning is a band that is making history!!! Even if many ppl is disagree,the warning is getting stronger and better everyday,the feelings that they give to their songs is something that many bands doesn’t have❤️Their songs makes u feel happy!! I'll play nice for the girls. Dizzy's facial reactions as the song starts... the rock grimace of approval... and then turning sideways to quickly chat with someone... I'm hoping he's saying... these girls sound familiar... or they rock or something like that. Regardless... You can see from his instant reaction that he is impressed. He also had nothing but praises for our power trio. Wether he recognizes them or not should be a non issue. End of rant. Thanks for the awesome video. They came. They rocked. They conquered.

Maybe you want to go way back to 2012 when ...... Dany was 12 Pau was 10 Ale was 7 .... they were very young. Maybe, when promoting the band to major rock stars and their roadies, it would be good to focus on their greatest shows, not their cutest little child shows before they were actually a band. Just what I personally would suggest for someone at Joel's level and with the connections he's introducing to the group. Pau came off awesome in the KISS song, but it was and aventure in missed entries and normal beginner errors, even though the actual playing of instruments was incredible for the ages they were at.... as a BAND, it isn't an example of their greatness. Furthest back I woudl go is dakota bar, maybe, or the TedX shows.

@@don-music Yes. The public releases from Teatro Metropolitan really show them at their level best (and I presume they're going to add more over time). Foro Didi and Lunario were also excellent professional shows, but are no match for the quality and intensity in all respects as Teatro Metropolitan. The TEDx ones are great, but they don't show them at anywhere near their current level. Joel is working very hard to promote The Warning to people in the industry and must be commended for that. He made that one misstep with Sweet Child O' Mine, but he fixed that up in a hurry and since then has been showing them in their best light. That's what his guests expect, so anything less puts them in a bad light.

This is weird and funny at the same time, did you know they opened for them last Octuber in Monterrey, mx?.. There's a video where Slash and wife are watching them perform from a tv backstage. TW said they never meet them. Maybe that's why that name was familiar to Dizzy, haha.

I'll be nice and bight my tongue, I hope. There is another band with a woman named Lzzy that noticed The Warning and contacted them and invited them to join their tour. They watched them every night and Lzzy was super impressed. Impressed enough to give Dany a guitar. Her brother loved/loves them enough to join them on the drum kit to play one of their songs at multiple shows. The future of rock is in good hands and some recognize it while others don't give a sh!t. Three young women taking over the ROCK world who just happen to be your opening act not too long ago and you don't know them ? The song, "Narcisista," is all I can think of after watching this. Ironically, that is the song Arejay played with The Warning.

and not just give Dany a guitar, but Lzzy Hale had it custom ordered for Dany to match the specs of Dany's PRS so she could just play it comfortably... that's an investment in admiration from LzzyHale, who also remarked that watching Dany play guitar made her go back and start practicing again (or words to that effect).

GNR must have had more than a hundred bands open for them on their last tour, The Warning was just one of them, and for only one show. It would be no surprise if he wasn't even aware of them at the time of the show, let alone all these months later. Besides, he was put on the spot here, and didn't have the chance to put it all together. I was way more put-off that the Foo Fighters couldn't muster more than a high five for the band as they passed them in the corridor. Dave Grohl not sitting down with the girls to give them some words of advice and encouragement didn't sit right with me. I expected far better from Dave.

Fishes is appropriate when referring to more than one species of fish. Fish is used singular and plural when referring to the same species. Also, the zodiac sign for Pisces ♓️ is referred to as fishes. . So grammatically TW were right because when you go swimming in the ocean, lake, or stream, there are more than one species of fish you are swimming with. At this point, I would say this is like beating a dead fish, or fishes if you're beating more than one species 🙂

Shame G n R didn’t bother to acknowledge them when they recently opened for them, citing some BS about Covid protection/tour etc. But at least the road crew and sound guys were very complimentary about their openers.

I am not suprised. GnR are known to treat support bands and even their own crew badly and arrogantly. A few weeks later (3 or 4 weeks?) Band Maid supported GnR in Saitama (Japan) . They were treated just as badly as The Warning. For Americans or Europeans, that's just rude. But Japanese have many courtesy rituals and such behavior is a serious insult to the Japanese. The time for GnR has already expired. They just haven't noticed it yet.

I guess that you’ll get a bit surprised about the amount of negative comments you’ll see here about GNR. The Warning has in Mexico opened for (not just been on a festival but actually opened for) The Killer, Def Leppard, Stryper, Foo Fighters, Muse… and GNR and GNR is the only band of them who did not pay any attention to the band opening for them, did mot say hello, did not give them time for a proper soundcheck. I like the music of GNR but it really looks like GNR lives in their own ego world. They can of course state that they have done this since 1990 and bla bla bla but in reality you are what you are and if a band do not want to act nice… then they are not nice, as simple as that. I’m sorry for Dizzy if he read all the comments here as he seem to be a nice dude. Slash has also on his solo tour or with Myles Kennedy looked more accessible so I guess it goes down to the one band member who seem to be the rotten apple….

True. But, in Dizzy's defense, GNR never did meet The Warning and the Monterrey show was the 34th of 45 shows GNR played last year on 5 continents, so I would think, after a while, the shows/cities sort of become a blur of hotel rooms and green rooms. hahaha

@@krash66 yup, I get your point but you can say the same about Muse, The Killers, Def Leppard. But it’s an attitude issue also. Maybe the GNR management’s attitude to not allow for a soundcheck. Can be many things playing in…. .

Yes, but maybe they should make a point of mentioning all their opening acts to thank them for cranking up the crowd. Unfortunately, I'm sure the management team picks the group that is locally available and/or is most likely to get that audience warmed up. Like was said by many at the time. G'N'R closed for TW.😄

They had The Warning open for them.... Didn't interact with them, at all. Didn't give them access for a soundcheck. Didn't give them their agreed-upon timeslot, but a shorter one instead. Don't even tangentially remember them when brought up. Lovely group, in all. How is it all these crusty-ass bands constantly think they're god's gift to the arts?

I can see where you're coming from. But, logistics is not usually the fault of the band (and if it is, we all know Axl is the issue. hahaha). And I am willing to cut Dizzy a bit of slack in that the Monterrey show was 34th of 45 shows they played on 5 continents in 6 months in 2022, and I am sure the shows turn into a blur of hotel and green rooms after a while. And they never did meet the band. But, yes, I hear ya ;)

Don't be too put off by the comments. The Warning has one of the most vocal, fanboy, and over the top fan bases. They call themselves TWA, "The Warning Army."
