Probably as a little inside nod. “It became this Elegy about a city.”, Drake’s Elegy is one of the main themes from it. You can see the mountains from the street and the city was ravaged… by a curse! The joke is that she’s writing the story of the first game because of course, she’s still upset that she had to drop her camera. So she’s also bored like Drake but that’s how she gets her excitement out. By writing, rather than doing it again for real.

The way she starts talking about the city, and the echo effect on her voice. Kinda wish it was let to play clearly longer so we could have heard all of it I could only imagine hearing about a ravaged city surrounded by gorgeous mountain scenery would have added to the longing he feels
