@gothictiamat The molecular formula is an interesting one but we don't have direct observation of atoms, but rather mathematical models. It is a model that has served us extremely well, as have pretty much all of those in modern chemistry, but it is essentially a human construct and only a model of what we call water. We do have direct access to evolution happening through observation albeit not on a large scale since that occurs over periods beyond the human lifetime.

Evolution is the best story we have got in terms of its ability to explain a wide variety of observations about the living world and make testable predictions. In those terms it is one of the best stories that we have got about the physical world. I think that religious leaders, and to some extent any believer in public, making ignorant arguments about such things make faiths appear foolish by association.

@gothictiamat No it doesn't prove it because everything in science is provisional but the fact that each new piece of knowledge in the last 150 years has served to confirm the idea in surprising ways and failed to falsify it is bloody good reason to think that is true. Not believing speciation is a major problem for your position because there is plenty of direct observational evidence - which seems to be your major criteria for your list.

Science has, in some areas, become so complex as to almost do away with the notion of a singular genius. Many of people who believe in evolution don't do this cause they're convinced it's true but cause they want it to be true...they believe that it's the shortest path to atheism or at least being irreligious!

The story of Adam and Eve told in Quran and Story of Adam and Eve told to us as islamic are 2 different stories. Of course Quran is a book of guidance and its main purpose is guiding humanity and rattle the souls which have astrayed towards the righteous path. So sometime, story is told as Islamic but it is not Quranic. and same is the case with Adam and Eve story which is infact biblical story. First do remember that creation of human and honoring or making the human as caliph of this world are 2 different events. and there might be a huge time between them. As Allah in Quran have repeatedly told that the time we use is not the actual time. So i will just put few ayahs for you to ponder. When Allah told the angels that he is making the human as caliph, the angels replied that human will shed Blood. Remember that shedding blood is not same as fighting or quarrel. Blood is specific to humans and not for jins. (Surah Baqra, 30 ) وَإِذْ قَالَ رَبُّكَ لِلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِ إِنِّى جَاعِلٌ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ خَلِيفَةً ۖ قَالُوٓا۟ أَتَجْعَلُ فِيهَا مَن يُفْسِدُ فِيهَا وَيَسْفِكُ ٱلدِّمَآءَ وَنَحْنُ نُسَبِّحُ بِحَمْدِكَ وَنُقَدِّسُ لَكَ ۖ قَالَ إِنِّىٓ أَعْلَمُ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ So this is one possible clue that angels have seen human in the world. Humans were living in this world as a normal specie and they had blood fights among themselves. Similarly after the mistake of adam, Allah said that all of you leave this garden. The word used in arabic (جمیعا ) is for 3 or more. If we go by biblical story it should be only adam and eve, so why mention 3? probably the child of H. Adams were with him? this could be one possibility or we could say that Quran has a mistake. (Surah Baqra, 38) قُلْنَا ٱهْبِطُوا۟ مِنْهَا جَمِيعًا ۖ فَإِمَّا يَأْتِيَنَّكُم مِّنِّى هُدًى فَمَن تَبِعَ هُدَاىَ فَلَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ Then in Surah Al-Ankabut ayah, 20. Allah says that roam in this world and see how He originated the creation. Why he is asking us to see the origination of creation in this world when we were created in heavens? Thats like asking students to read something which will not be in the exam. Actually Allah asked us to see how he originated the creation because when we will see follow His direction we will find that we are the final creation. The final ayah i will give is the ayah 33,34 of Surah Al-Imran ۞ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ ٱصْطَفَىٰٓ ءَادَمَ وَنُوحًا وَءَالَ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَءَالَ عِمْرَٰنَ عَلَى ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ذُرِّيَّةًۢ بَعْضُهَا مِنۢ بَعْضٍ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ In these 2 ayahs, Allah mentions 2 Prophets(AS) [Adam and Noh] and 2 Families {Family of Ibrahim, Family of Imran] and said that some of them are the descendants of others. Why he did not say that all are descendants of Adam(AS)? This means that one family is from the lineage of one Prophet and other family is from the lineage of other Prophet(SAW) and if you read Surah Al-Isra, Ayah 3, you will find that H. Ibrahim(AS) is not from H. Noh(AS). So family of Ibrahim(AS) is from the descendants of Adam(AS) and this means that Family of Imran(AS) is from the descendant of H. Noh(AS). Just ponder over these ayah and see if they are not clearly hinting at evolution and denying the biblical story which we accept? Are we following Quran? @IslamNetVideo

If evolution has taken place then it is God who is the evolver. God has created the human beings miraculously just as Jesus was created miraculously without a father. Distinct from whatever process of evolution was going on at the time Adam was sent down on earth. We have the choice to submit to God is what makes us human and different from other animals. So God Adam created Adam miraculously and Eve in the way He described. But the process of evolution might have been going on.

Since its inception, evolution has made numerous bold falsifiable predictions and survived new observations. It faced challenges from paradigms of its day, like a young earth and blending theory of heredity. Being able to say "Godidit" in the face of any and every new observation is no virtue.
