They need to have a Cup weekend here on the regular schedule. And bring back Rockingham one week a year. Superspeedway racing has its place, but so does the heart and soul of NASCAR’s past venues.

Marcus is such a down to earth person that listens to the people, he should be running NASCAR in it's entirety

I got the Feeling the Bristol Spring race is going to North Wilkesboro or Nashville Fairgrounds when it's completed.

Gonna be there in May. It's on my bday. I haven't been this excited in years man.

We went to so many races there. I remember meeting Buck Baker, seeing Tiny Lund win and the Autumn leaves Modified race there. The most unforgettable hour or two was watching the Monarch Butterflies migrate over the speedway one afternoon, Thousands and Thousands. Never seen before or since. There's a Wilkesboro memory I will never forget.

Major thank you to Dale Jr. & Co./Marcus Smith for reigniting the passion for the history at North Wilksboro to do the track cleanup for the iRacing scan. Once the track surface was clear, it was clear that the track was not finished telling its story of racing. The best part of the story is how this demonstrates when people are passionate about something, their faith can show other people the possibilities. Nothing is truly done until you give up on it. The racetrack's uniqueness of design and old school pure racing feel, should be used as a template of leading NASCAR back to what the fans want. We want a track that allows for great competition, but also has a more family-oriented, community feel. This makes for a memorable experience, especially with the track improvements not "throwing the baby out with the bath water," as the saying goes. Lastly, thank you to Marcus Smith for listening to people like myself who asked for the old pavement to NOT be ripped up and left as a dirt track. North Wilkesboro's racing surface is just the right type of grit that NASCAR needs to have a connection to its Moonshine-running roots. I appreciate the investment of time, event planning, traffic improvement, etc., but especially the willingness to dream big. I promise the loyal NASCAR community will step up and do our part to make this NASCAR gem a success for the long run. Thank you, from a NASCAR fan who has watched races each weekend for over 25 years.

Such a great accomplishment...Speedway Motorsports and Marcus Smith...so glad this has happened...need a full house ...overflowing with fans...So glad for the folks in the Wilkesboro area!!!

Marcus, we all know you’re reading these comments! Please don’t forget the younger NASCAR fans heavily into the social media aspect. Put in temporary cell phone and wi-fi capabilities if necessary, if you don’t already have it planned. Getting the right, positive publicity and media buzz out there is very key to getting the younger crowd interested in the historical aspect of the track and the surrounding Wilkesboro area…and it’s just good for the business of selling tickets! Great discussion! I live in MO and have never been to the track, but I have watched several videos of the work and even before the renovation. I'd love to go there someday and enjoy it in person. BTW we need to see more of Kelly. She is so beautiful and those blue eyes are to die for.

Hey this is dre on my woman's account I'm talking to you Dale if you see this I'm 28 me and my dad helped back in 2010 when the track opened for them few races. I lost my father a few years back now he never got to see the track come back to life like this I know he would've loved this and would've got so evolved with this. One wish I ask you Dale because I know you the man because you made this happen I would love to see a lot different series race at this track so if you don't mind getting on that phone and make it happen lol let's go racing boys

Cletus should come to North wilkesboro. And do a race with the crown vics. That would not only make the track money of course whatever Cletus pays them. But also at the same time that would bring a whole new demographic of fans to that track who probably maybe never even heard of North wilkesboro because they're fans of cledus on KZfaq. And don't know nothing about racing nascar so that could bring new fans in. Yeah this guy here should definitely hit up Cletus and say yo do you want to host one of your races here.

Hi Ladies & Gents, I went to North Wilkesboro 3 times and I loved it I went a 4th time and took my Wife she also loved it and then it closed, sad day!! We felt like we were at home at our short tracks in Pa. My Wife brought up this point. Nice place!!👍👍👍👍👍👍

Now we need to bring tracks like Rockingham, Chicagoland, Milwaukee mile, Iowa and Kentucky back into regular season racing, alot of tracks now do not deserve two dates on the schedule

I really hope they bring back something close to the triple header they used to have in September. Back then it was Modified, LMSC and Six Cylinder Limited Sportsman races. Maybe that is where the NWMT weekend is headed 😀👍

I used to drive past for sale sign for that Speedway on 421 monthly and would think to myself boy if I ever hit Lotto I'd buy it. Y'all about to take a big-time turn towards the Grassroots when it all started. Check that you're already in the third turn headed to the finish line.

I’m a fan of keeping the All Star race there for the next several years. Unique place, visit the sports history, ect. NASCAR’s Field of Dreams. There’s your sales pitch to non-racing fans to tune in one night for the event.

You could also host New Year's Eve fireworks show and Halloween Haunted Hayrides❤️

I was afraid he wasn’t going to say it, but the $18M in ARPA money from the state was almost certainly what made this economical to do. If it weren’t for that, the pro forma probably doesn’t pencil for SMI. Now, with that said, I suspect that there’s more than $18M invested there, but until he says it I have to assume that the state of NC is funding this entire endeavor. If all he’ll say is “tens of millions” and the only figure that’s public is $18M, then I can’t assume there’s any private investment. Can he not tell me there’s “tens of millions in private investment”?

Went to Martinsville this last October and while I was there I went to North Wilkesboro Speedway Just to see it It was absolutely amazing. And there's an Older man who lives in a trailer in front of it I mean Basically at the front gate I'm sure hes excited to have it back open

Seeing USAC Sprints and Midgets run there would be great!

I know Merlefest is in the area, but a bluegrass festival would be awesome. It would tie in the Scotch-Irish and Appalachian culture of music, moonshine, stock cars and working class people.

Talk with Bob Schacht about potentially having the Grand National Super Series (GNSS) racing there. They're hosting a race at Rockingham this year

They are going to sell out both Truck race & the entire All-Star weekend, seems like a outstanding beginning

Put it back on the schedule. I don't care if the racing is single file, this track was on the original schedule and there was never a legit reason to drop it. Can't wait to see what the new life in the old track looks like.

How about some ticket office employees too Mr. Smith right now for example I bought the wrong parking for the 3 day event at NWB. I called Bristol since NWB doesn’t have an office to call. I got left with no call back and I still have the wrong parking. If you are gonna charge the amount of money for these tickets it would be nice to have some ticket reps for the track.

It would be neat if they had Humpy Wheeler at or involved with the all star race....He always had special things for races at Charlotte.

The only way North Wilksboro gets an annual Cup race is for another one of his tracks to give one up. With only 25,000 capacity, it’s not financially possible. That reducing revenue by 75+%

I think in some form I’d like to see u pay homage to Enoch Staley who built the track and kept it going until he died.

I know this sounds dumb but would there be a way to bring back some races there with throw back Winston Cup cars? I mean the old 90's style cars because I would love to see that!! I mean imagine 5 lug wheels, the Grand Prix, The Thunderbird, The Lumna, I mean how cool would that be....

You hired the traffic expert for EDC? The traffic getting into EDC is a nightmare every single year.

From what DH says about that family that's reluctant to share the TV money and what Marcus and Dale are pulling off with this project and how Marcus's family's business philosophy sounds, might it be time for some reevaluation of the direction of "stock car" racing's direction? No transparency inconsistent "rules"? One lug nut? No passing? Road course overload? Few butts in the seats? How about Marcus compared to Brian? Is it time?

Hearing Bruton Smith's son talk about preserving NASCAR history makes me want to puke. They bought it so could shut it down and move that race to Texas. Then ask fans to carpool so you can make more millions. This guy and his dad are part of what is wrong with NASCAR.

Wilkesboro, Rockingham, or Martinsville shouldbe a full time dirt track. It was a great idea but the banking at Bristol didn't work as a dirt track.

Sorry I'm just not interested in NASCAR NASCAR really sucks now it really does if you look at the grandstands when you watch the race the stands are pretty much empty people want to sit there and say NHRA is going downhill no NHRA is constantly selling out when NASCAR is constantly going downhill I quit watching NASCAR after Dale Junior retired Dale jr. Why is my favorite driver hands down Junior and senior were my favorite drivers but after Junior retired no more NASCAR for me NASCAR in 2023 is a joke
