It means I can be my self without knowing what and who I am

I don’t have a perfect definition and people can help me out, Queer people love people for who they are no matter what their significant other decides to label themselves under the umbrella of sex, gender, presentation, sexual orientation etc. straight, trans, gender fluid, pansexual, etc. Sometimes people are born with a sexual organ that does or doesn’t fit their outlook of themselves example an individual who identifies themselves as a woman as XXY and was born with a penis etc. The possibilities are endless. There is a really interesting documentary I watched in Netflix of babies born with a different sexual organ and parents ultimately end up deciding for their child by proceeding to have then operated without the child’s consent and down the line the child ends up growing up feeling like their the opposite sex or gender

But welI, I had to answer because maybe someone who is searching will read this and find we are not all emotionally constipated, and maybe, this person needs to remember how valuable every human is, with or without label... This is a word that allows people to say they don't fit the heteronormative, even if they don't find themselves in one of the sexual identities we recognize today, due to their fluidity or other reasons. This is useful because it helps them to make a statement and reminds us how colorful humanity is.

Yea it basically is a label for "no labels" it's pretty necessary for me because when people come up to me and asked what my sexuality is, I don't have to come up with a thousand word essay on describing how my sexuality sometimes fluctuates and just tell them that I'm "queer" and if they need further explanations, just ask them to look up Google or just give them a link to an article about the label 'queer' or a link to this video. It's efficient, it saves time and I don't need the whole conversation to be awkwardly only about me

I'm asia Im currently reading a book about what queer means and in the beginning they say that summon it up to that queer can mean a bunch of different things. Its not suppose to have a single defined label but is there to twist our sense of what is normal and what is not and that it basically means different and going against the norm(Kinda). Defining the word would kinda ruin its meaning?

I'm not super educated on the matter but to my understanding queer simply means not submitting to society's gender binary. It's important to understand that sex and gender are completely different thing

I mean... Languages is just putting labels on concepts so you can communicate with others. They get more specific as we get more understanding of them. If these people don't relate to the specific sexuality/gender identities/orientations that exist, it might be because they belong to one that hasn't been identified yet or it might be that it's a specific subtype they haven't heard of yet. Like atoms, they've technically always existed but were only named when discovered and started being communicated to other people.

pronouns don’t equal gender. so you could just say your pronouns are they/them. or different pronouns but still be queer. i don’t think you have to be non binary to use they/them pronouns. correct me if i’m wrong though. i use they/them pronouns but i’ve been doing lots of research to try and find a label for myself.

At what stage does someone have to state all this personal information to someone they’ve just met? In fact when is it ever important to reel off all these labels apart from on Twitter? In my day (yes, I’m what you’d probably call “old”) a smile and your first name would do. If someone asks if I have a wife I say no, I have a male partner.

I'm late af, but queer is a term used for all sexualities and gender identities that are not cishet: basically all ppl who are not cishet could identify as queer, bc it's an umbrella term, but some people (like me) use it more or less as a label, because they're unlabeled and don't want ot can't use other more specific labels like bi, pan, etc., maybe cuz they're unsure, maybe because they feel like they don't fit in any of them, and many other reasons. I hope that helped to clear the confusion

Queer is basically an LGBTQIA+ term that people can identify as when they don't have or want a specific label. They like who they like, love who they love, and are whatever or whoever they are. They don't want the stress of having a label claiming they're this, or that they're that, they are just human. I personally identify as queer because I don't really know how else to label my sexuality.

And that is why he or she uses the term queer. What does queer mean for him or her? The definition or meaning of queer can only actually be filled in by that person. there is also gender queer, you do not want to be in a gender box, so ur not a girl, boy, and genders like that
