The first time I 'took up' for a gay person, they automatically assumed I was gay and had refused to accept it. I feel like I'm being lumped in the group, so why not be tagged on at the end. I'm straight as the ace of spades as people used to say, but we are all human beings and I love to think someday it won't matter; that people are just people.

@driamhane
@driamhane 3 жыл бұрын
@@gjopp7251 um, but inclusivity is defined as giving people equal opportunies in representation and rights and so many more important parts of our lives. Cishet allo mono people who belong to the majority of the straight demographic cannot be classified as non-cishet allo mono people based on how supportive they are of human rights. Thus including them in the category doesn't make much sense... however this doesn't mean that they aren't allowed to live with and support the community to the fullest. A straight person can accompany their bi spouse to a parade A cis person can accompany their trans spouse to the community. A CHAMP relative can support their relatives Even if you dont have connections, you are welcome to support LGBT people. Just maybe not be classified as one. If you aren't related in any way to an LGBT person, it's better to not go into LGBT only spaces. Because you literally have the rest of the world to be safe in. Not disclusion. Just giving LGBTQ ppl the priority they have been denied.

Rawbert Garcia dude that is so fucking stupid there is no perfect time to realize your sexuality. Figuring out your sexuality isn’t reserved for people who are 18+. I’m thirteen (fourteen now) and I know that I’m bisexual and I know who and what I like and I feel sorry that your so ignorant that you can’t understand what sexuality truly means that you’d bash on a twelve year old for knowing exactly who she is and just wanted to share on some place she thought would be safe because she’s happy that she knows herself so well. @@r0van425 The "whole ass point," babe, is that everyone strives to be equal, included, accepted for who they are, right? Yet there is still division, even in the "community." I don't even get why there needs to be a community. I know we must agree here, that there should be no division or bias based on gender orientation or identity. However since I am heterosexual, I'm "excluded" from the community. It's contradictory - discriminatory based on MY sexual and gender orientation. So I suppose hetero's are just served a dose of their own medicine by being excluded from these communities, after centuries of not recognizing these somewhat new social definitions.

I was wondering... I was thinking for the bisexual, it shouldn’t be shown as a point between heterosexual and homosexual because many bisexuals have a preference or a leaning attraction, or the majority of their attractions are to the opposite/same sex. Bisexuality can also be fluid and change over time. For myself, for example, I find that generally I have a leaning towards same sex attractions, physically and emotionally, but it's also fluid and I find myself more interested in the opposite sex some days than others. I think you should have showed it on a spectrum like you did intersex. Other than that, fantastic video! How this would have made my life easier to see in school...
@bamboo-3125
@bamboo-3125 6 жыл бұрын
Your sexual orientation could be fluid. I get this a lot too, actually. I'm mostly attracted to people of the same sex but there are days that I feel like I like the opposite sex way more than the same. I think it still counts as bisexual because you still like males and females it just fluctuates.
@keck321

@checkmate2489
@checkmate2489 6 жыл бұрын
keck321 but many people have a leaning towards one gender. Some people may have more attractions to the same gender more than the opposite, but they identify as bisexual just like someone who has more attractions to the opposite gender more than the same. That means it shouldn’t be shown as a point between heterosexual and homosexual. It can also be fluid, another reason it should be a spectrum.

Bàmboo - yeah, I identify as bisexual pretty much because it's the easiest for people to understand, but I also could go by/connect with/ identify with others, like queer, fluid, pansexual, etc. Basically, I think anyone who is attracted to same and opposite gender/s can identify as bisexual if they want to. I don’t like to think of it as a limiting term that is 50/50, only includes binary genders, only attraction to 2 genders, etc. :)

Wolf Heart you just made my point... bi is exactly that... you like both sexes... maybe not equally, which is rare as fuck. We don’t need 50 definitions to say that you like both. Why do we need all these definitions to say “I like guys and girls?”

I couldn't give two shits about what your ancient book says, because the very same book you use to justify the slaughter of gay people, justifies sexism. And don't forget, nit everyone is Christian. So you using your beliefs to pressure them in to repressing their feelings so much they kill themselves, that seems like the Christian agenda now. And don't even @ me with your "Oh, you're discriminating against me for my religion!" I'm Christian too. The bible is so full of contradictions, it might as well be a half-assed fanfiction.

No, this doesn’t need to be taught in school. There’s never been a specific class for discussing sexual or romantic attraction, and the problem with that would be bias with teachers probably teaching more in favor of their own and making it something that should be on the forefront of children’s minds. No kind of attraction is taught; it’s something you discover within your own life. Yes, it’s more common for heterosexual and cisgendered people to exist, but it’s not taught. If it were, then people who don’t fall under that category wouldn’t exist. Wonder how long it’ll take to get this reply taken down...

The concepts that they teach are still the concept you hold as a heterosexual male! LGBT is just a community or organization. But these concepts are for everybody.

sexual orientation is not based on gender. It's based on sexual attraction to either the same sex, opposite sex or both sexes. If you are attracted to someone because they look like a member of the sex you are typically attracted to, that's ok, sexual attraction has a lot to do with appearances.

When i came out at 14 the acronym was LGBT and as the years progress more and more letters have been added. I agree that some letters fit and some don't. I just wonder how long it will become before it morphs into its own language. I have started an outreach program that strives to educate and create awareness about the LGBT community. This video is packed with a lot information that can be used to educate almost anyone and the bottom line is Acceptance. When we are able to reach into ourselves and shine our lives become better as a whole.

My mother thinks that I'm lesbian for attention, and my father completely ignores my sexuality. For an example of my mother: Once, I asked my parents if I was allowed to have a girlfriend since I was at the same age my sister was when she got a boyfriend. My mother yelled no and gave me a angry expression. For an example of my father: When my sister asked if she could go out on a date with a guy, my dad turned to me and said, "It's too bad he doesn't have a cute younger brother."

@leaare
@leaare 3 жыл бұрын
Im not the person that made the video but I thought I'd try to answer anyways. The truth is, there are a looooot of queer identities that don't get recognised in the acronym, and there's also just not one acronym. There is for example LGBT+ (where the + stands for all the identities not reflected), there's LGBTQ (where the Q stands for "Queer" and all the identities not reflected), there's the one used in the video.... and many many more. As you see in the video itself, there are other sexualities and genders except "two spirit" that don't get reflected in the acronym. There are so many nuanced identities and labels that it is near impossible to include all of them, which is a thing many people criticize about it, but there's no consensus about what to use among the community. As you've seen, I use "queer" as an umbrella term, but many don't like that bc it started out as a slur. Same with "gay" community, which additionally can be seen as exclusive since it is mostly used to describe same sex attraction. A youtuber called James Somerton recently made a video on this topic called "queer: reclaiming the word" (which I think is a good video, even though I don't agree with all the points he made, once again showing that there's no perfect consensus :D) I hope this helped (and you're okey with getting a very long answer to a pretty short question, I'm not the best at being concise :D )

There are many people who use different versions of the acronym like lgbt+, lgbtq+, lgbtqia+ and lgbtqiaa2s+ (2s stands for two-spirit). but most people use lgbtq+ because it’s not to long.

If you’re confused, for me I feel like I’m a male but sometimes I kind of act like more feminine but I definitely lean towards being a male. Does that make sense...or not? 1. Allies aren’t part of the community. A is for abrosexual, abroromantic, asexual, aromantic, and agender. 2. Bigender just means someone who experiences 2 genders. Not necessarily male and female. 3. Your pronouns don’t necessarily have to match your gender identity. Some boys use gender neutral or feminine pronouns, some girls use neutral or masculine pronouns, some non-binary people use feminine and/or masculine pronouns, some non-binary people use both they and he or she. There are way more terms, but I’ll give some grace there because it’s impossible to fit them all on a single paper. You’re welcome for correcting your mistakes. (Sorry if I misheard/misunderstood some of your words.)
