You should get the old fashion trimming on the window channel. That is rubber and felt in the middle for the glass. Thd old LTd and Ford cars used to have it. It holds the window good.

Home depot sells anodized 1/2 - 3/4 aluminum square tube you can bend in a triple roller set up then cut the side out with a table saw the width of the glass and urathane it onto the edge of the glass.Mask the glass to cut down in the squeeze out and it would make it easier to cut the unwanted off with a razor blade. You could even use aluiminum tube cut out like a C shape and bond that to the edge of the glass.Food for thought. Brent ,watch out for burns and sparks on your nice seat!!.

Looking really good, Brent. I wonder how much the padding and vinyl will add. Maybe acid dip the top before hand to thin it up and lighten it? I think you've added enough structure to it that it should still be sturdy even if you had it dipped to remove 40% of the thickness.

Have you thought about building a mountable crank lift that you can remove the roof with then take down and lay in the bed? Build a bar that spans the roof, with a central pick-up and make the ends to retract and clamp to the sides of the roof. Then you can pic the roof with a cable crank, rotate it and set the roof in the bed. Saving your back. Thanks for all the years of great content. So happy to see you getting settled into the new shop.
