My favourite line is "what can you do when you who you wanna be is imperfect but I'll still be okay" such a good message for everyone. Isa's such an interesting character, I can't imagine the pressure of always being perfect and having to be the spokesperson/ mascot for the family and having everything you do, even how you walk or use your gift scrutinised and held up to someone else's idea of perfection.

I wanted more of Isabela to see her be more pressured with perfection; in the film, she only seems to show being upset with one thing. That's why Encanto needs a show; a lot more time needed to be devoted to the supporting characters.

and she’s not upset about one thing. She is forced to be “perfect” her whole life because abuela wants her to live the life that she didn’t have. She couldn’t grow any other plants other than flowers, she’s forced to be married to a guy who she just met, she has to practise being “perfect” in front of everybody just to meet abuela’s expectations. Anyway, there are a lot of stuff she could be upset about.

Isabella was terrible to Mirabel because Mirabel in her eyes had it easy with no expectation and can do whatever she wanted, be whatever she wanted. There were various instances where Isabella looked sad and was trying to hide her feelings. But that's the point of her struggle. You aren't supposed to see it. Mirabel couldn't see it, not until she accused Isabella of being selfish. And Isabella forgoing her wants to please Abeula is the furthest from selfish and so she finally spoke the truth. I honestly don't think there was a better way to show that.

My favourite line is in French but i love the signification, the part when she says « The way is clearer 'cause you're here, and well I owe this all to you » in French it’s « merci à toi d’avoir éclairé la voie c’est toi mon cadeau » This is literally means « thank you for shining the way you are my gift » It’s like Mirabel was the candle, who shines the way of the family, and she is the real gift, it’s a beautiful pun I think

I feel so bad for the guy she was gonna marry. Not because of the breakup (we see how that goes better for all), but he's actually such a nice guy he doesn't deserve getting his nose all smashed up by flowers. Treat your himbos better, lol.

@kshamwhizzle she just reminds me so much of my verbally abusive parents. She treated Mirabel like shit I ain't letting that slide. She still redeemed herself in the end but it doesn't mean I have to like her

If you listen closely, you'll realize that Mirabel's verse starting at 2:27 has the exact same melody as Isabela's verse in We Don't Talk About Bruno. Lin-Manuel Miranda put so many easter eggs in his songs and I love it.
