people are allways gona hate something because reasons. and then want others to hate it aswell so they can feel justified for their hate, Also its allways cooler to some people to hate something then admit they like something that is mainstream and maybe abit corny at a certen age.
@thathighguy6980
@thathighguy6980 2 жыл бұрын
The hate comes from how this villain was used. Ultron is like Thanos, Magneto, Apocalypse, Kang and Dr. Doom... He's never defeated, just temporarily stopped. And it wasn't really an "age" more like a bad weekend. Basically, they where disrespectful to the feature character. The same reason Taskmaster fans were furious with Black Widow. The opposite was true for Black Panther. The CGI is iffy but they paid so much respect to the characters that it was easily overlooked. And that's all comic fans want. Just respect what you're using.
@lyssalovesit

@@thathighguy6980 I get it and where you’re coming from but not everything is going to be comic book accurate and not every movie needs to be. This movie was a lot better now as part of the entire mcu than it was first received. 12:10 "What's the significance of Wakanda?" Black Panther is King of Wakanda 14:10 Hawkeye is the only one of the Avengers NOT to get mind-controlled by Wanda. This is in reference to the first Avengers movie where he was controlled by Loki. 15:45 I suspect that the Hulk has the judgement of a really drunk person. They can still follow some orders sometimes but aren't thinking through consequences. In this case Wanda's stuff messed him up even more. 16:45 there is a running joke through the MCU about who is strongest avenger, with Hulk and Thor having the biggest friendly rivalry over it 17:45 I love that they gave a lot more depth to Hawkeye in this movie and gave him a family, he's the only Avenger that has a "normal" life. 26:55 There's a screenwriting concept of "show, don't tell" and Vision lifting the hammer is a perfect example of that. They do the whole scene at the party of nobody lifting the hammer to set THIS scene up. Vision lifting the hammer speaks more about his trustworthiness and character than any amount of dialogue could. 31:00 It's easy to miss, but the SHIELD agent working the console there is the same one in Winter Soldier that refused to launch project insight even at gunpoint. 37:10 Exactly right. This movie introduces Wanda, Pietro, Vision, Klaue, Laura Barton, Wakanda, explores Natasha's past, Clint's family, the ending announces Sam, Rhodey, Wanda and Vision as Avengers, the events of Sokvia (the city that went in the sky and was destroyed) become more important later, it's the first glimpse of Thanos holding the infinity gauntlet in the post-credits scene, and about another half dozen things that become essential for the rest of the stories. Of all the movies this one probably contributes the most to the MCU arch than any other avengers movie.

Also, the Helicarrier at the end was ALSO set by Coulson in Agents. It was part of his secret project, Project Theta. And the Sokovia incident and Ultron are even mentioned in the show.

My understanding of Hulk, is that it all depends on why, who, and sometimes when he is triggered to change. At this point if he chooses to become Hulk, he has some level of control to aim the rage at the enemy, but there is still always a chance he will loose control. However, in the first Avengers movie, he was triggered by the outside manipulating of Loki, the anger at Natasha and Fury for lying to him, and the final literal blow of the explosion caused by Clint on the helicarrier. All of these things forced a transformation out of Bruce’s control and he goes after Natasha because she is there and Bruce was angry with her. No, at this point Wanda doesn’t have control over their minds she is more reading them and unlocking fears or repressed memories etc… with Bruce his fear is simple, going on an uncontrollable rampage and killing innocent people in the process. So my guess is that is what she showed him and it triggered the Hulk, making his fear come to life.

You nailed it, mostly. Before this movie was released, Mark Ruffalo said it would something to the effect that it would explore the inner conflict between Banner and Hulk. I’ve always assumed that his Wanda-induced vision was a confrontation between the two in their mind which led to the Hulk’s rage taking full control, leading to his rampage. I have to believe that this was filmed but ultimately cut from the film - I think it was once stated that a full hour was chopped from its runtime. There was even a shot in the trailer where Banner’s eyes were glowing green that doesn’t appear in the finished product.
@JaggerG
@JaggerG 11 ай бұрын
I haven’t researched Hulk much, and I’m no clinical psychologist, but it seems to me like a kind of dissociative disorder. Traumatic experiences can make people miss out on identity forming experiences due to amnesia, so instead of a person gaining experience as a complete unit, they have branching paths that think individually. Throughout the Avengers movies, Bruce goes from having no memory of of hulking out and actively suppressing it, to sharing control and letting the abilities of Hulk come out in Avengers, regressing to Hulk distrusting Bruce and going on a total rampage again after the illusion. Then there’s further development that I’m not gonna spoil. Essentially, I believe Bruce and Hulk are the same *base* person, split by amnesia into separate people by having different experiences. Then again, there’s a theory of identity that disagrees, saying people are born as a collection of many identities that fuse into one as they mature; so they don’t “split”-they just don’t successfully fuse. But I think that’s just semantics.
@JaggerG
@JaggerG 11 ай бұрын
It feels like Hulk/Bruce are a portrayal of that type of disorder from the outside, and Moon Knight is a portrayal from the inside. Does that sound about right? I’m sure arguments are made over the cause of each, but it’s something that’s still being researched today.

To answer your question about the Hulk, Alex, it depends on why and how he turns. Banner suffers from DID, and the Hulk is literally another personality. If they're working together, typically the Hulk will be easier to aim, but if he comes out by force, say through fear, confusion, or pain, then the Hulk is just gonna lash out. He's like a 9 foot tall wolf. He can run with the pack, but if he feels threatened, he'll tear up anything that could be a potential danger.

Hulk in the MCU basically boils down to if he initiates the Hulk, he has somewhat control and people can interact with him. If he is induced, by taking damage where it might kill Banner, then Hulk comes out and just wrecks shop with little control by Banner. When ScarJo pushed him over the edge to become Hulk you saw him kind of look at her like "what are you doing?" We can assume he changed soon after dropping because he came back up fast and smiled at her, so Banner induced that change.

Good question. The answer is this ain't the real Age of Ultron, but for the sake of avoiding spoilers I will stop right there. And this is when a particularly doomed relationship begins, which is pivotal to the plot for that previous phase and the current one.

also, underrated film. Everyone points to this one as one of the weaker films, and the worst “avengers” film. But honestly i found myself disinterested in the first avengers film after the newness had worn off, but this one felt so different and refreshing that I just enjoyed it that much more. I do think this one may have a few flaws and clumsy bits compared to Avengers 1, but it still holds a space in my heart. I also just thought Ultron was a cool villain and James Spader did a 10/10 job on the performance

You're right Alex this was more of a setup for future MCU movies than a climax like the last one. Still very cool tho and introduced a few new characters like Vision (a.k.a the red guy) and Scarlett Witch and her brother Quicksilver. Sad that Quicksilver died but the way he died saving Hawkeye was awesome.

It’s a worthy successor, in my book. My primary conflict with the continuing narrative is still a couple movies away, I think. Agents of Shield would actually counter much of that criticism, as it happens, but it’s not canon. ‘Nuff said. We’ll get to it when we get to it. I enjoyed this movie, though it was particularly lame of Whedon to include the same “joke” in this and Justice League.
@dunringill1747

Whedon was brought in JL at the last minute to try to rewrite, refilm, and reedit with what he had been given. It was an impossible task and it's no wonder that movie wasn't good. With that said, I agree using "the same joke" was pretty lame.

IMO, this is the first movie that Marvel should have split into a two-parter. There's just so much information to absorb, and a natural part 1 / part 2 aspect to the story. If they had split it, they could have taken a little longer with some aspects of the story to make it more suspenseful and moody.

34:33 when you’re thinking about the difference between Banner and The Hulk, it’s basically the comic book rendition of Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde. Banner/Jekyll is the Brain and Hulk/Hyde is the Braun, but there are moments of clarity for Hulk/Hyde where it’s not just “kill kill kill” constantly.

Just keep remembering you said Hulk was the Strongest Avenger 😂 You perfectly set up a call back that comes in a few movies! I can’t wait 😂 So, Jarvis picked up the hammer but did you peep that Cap moved it a bit? That’s why Thor got that look on his face. This movie set up YEARS of debate over if Captain America was worthy or not. Was he only able to move it a little or did he realize he could pick it up and didn’t, because he didn’t want to upset his friend? You decide.

Between Winter Soldier and Age of Ultron they did a great job of integrating the films with the SHIELD TV show where, since they lost all their helicarriers when Project Insight was destroyed, resurrected Coulson (very long story) had completing a Helicarrier as one of the tasks he was working on constantly in the background. There was a split after this movie and the TV show became its own universe.
