I suppose I should have yes. It's a pretty ok weapon. It has good speed, but the proc generally isnt doing much for your tanking. You can occasionally heal yourself with Holy Light but its unlikely to proc when you actually need the heal, and Holy Light cost a lot of mana so its not great for producing threat either.

Holyfrog would you use azuresong mageblade as a tank weapon if you had it?

@@PushIt2287 Not really. Mageblade is pretty slow, and I dont think the 40 spellpower make up for the loss in mana regeneration from Seal/Judgement of Wisdom. Mageblade would still be pretty good for aoe pulls with Consecration where you want more damage.

Yes, but flurry procs 24/7. I have gotten ironfoe and flurry is only slightly worse because of The rate it procs. Granted IF proc is better than expected ( better than thrash blade - not only overall but also for proccing )

I dont like it. No stats, has no additional modifiers such as block value that you find on Barrier Shield/Intricately Runed Shield and no block value. Argent Defender is nice enough for boosting people or something like that, but with 1% procrate and a duration of just 10 seconds I dont really think I get that much out of it.

Full t1, ironfoe with blazing enchant or lifestealing, 5 return dmg boe cloak, rag trinket, Uther's strength/heroism card, naglering, skullflame/argent defender with thorium spike from bs, crystal spire buff, neck and 2nd ring with high int/sta/sp, 20/31 spec. There u go, ure the ultimate dungeon tank with high self healing and aoe dmg/threat. Note that self healing from t1, lifestealing, heroism card and holy seal add so much threat that no t2-t3 dps can get off of u in any dungeon fight (except maybe some caster mobs)

Its pretty much just an aoe farming shield/boosting shield. For raiding and 5man dungeons you would be better off with a Draconian Deflector for the stam+defense, or a Barrier Shield for the Block chance+value, or even the Alterac Valley shield for more armor. Skullflame is very good for AoE farming though once you get some spellpower, but for actual raids it has limited use.

Engineering by far. Just the dynamite alone so you can do ranged pulls more easily makes the profession worth it. Then there's all the other utility like Force Reactive Disk, Sappers, and the PvP items on top.

I plan to eventually. You will be keeping the Axe for a long long time, so I think its worth spending the gold enchanting it with 30 SP.

Indeed, running it right now and the proc chance is incredibly low.

As i see, acc to my experience, the weapons procs according to the mob's level. If i am wrong, pls correct me.

The point was to have a fast main weapon wep. The Thrash Blade is a full second slower, but yes, it grants an extra attack chance.

Defense from gear, not total defense. You always have 300 from being level 60.

I dont use one. There's no information provided by damage meters that make you do more damage, and in my experience It just makes people tunnelvision on the DPS numbers instead of properly playing the game. Like when rogues will switch away from the mob at 5% health so they can start building combo points on the other mob at 100% health, and then you wipe because the mob didnt get killed off and the healer runs out of mana.

Doesn't the information on damage meters highlight where most of your damage is coming from? You know, that way you can work on improving based off of it

@@michael96412 If you use the data to review your performance and improve for next time, great. Most of the time though, meters just make people cheese the damage at the expense of actually clearing the pack of mobs faster and more efficiently.

@@Avoidling I will be using the latest dmg meter i can find to guage for mana gain, proc rates, and dps( specifically a breakdown on dmg sources, Auto Attacks, Holy dmg, etc). I get the tunnel vision people get, but playing a protect paly and concerning myself with higher dps would be laughable, but it would not surprise me if some do it. good vid btw, just confirms my views on prot paly stats.

You don't have to play meta build. Just pick what ever feels more fun. Prot is great for mob grinding, big pulls and dungeon tanking. In pvp prot destroys melee dps :)

I play holy for raids and on off nights from guild runs I sell tanking speed runs for 5mans. Being a tank doesn't mean you need to raid as one. I'll let warriors have raid tanking while I am king of aoe speed running 5mans
