I was so happy to hear Hoult admitting to doing research and reading comics. I love how it was casually thrown in so that you couldn’t tell if he was reading for himself or research. As in maybe he read that book before James Gunn ever took over? I’m sure it’s likely that he’s been reading comics at least ever since he was cast as Beast in X-Men. Rachel Brosnahan also admitting to reading comics just gives me more and more hope for this film. I knew James was already a comic nerd. But I’m so glad that nobody else at the studio seems to have a big enough issue with this. Just with all the news we hear over at Disney where they don’t want the actors or writers to do any research into the lore and source material. I loved almost every bit of news from Warner Bros. in general since David Zazlav took over. I still have my apprehensions given the weird choice of some projects to be working on over others than need love that weren’t announced. But over all the more news that comes out about Superman the better I feel lol

I love the logo/symbol…can’t wait to see the whole suit. James could flat out be lying about not having a presence at Comic-Con. Maybe Peter Safran shows up for DC Studios to have a presence there. But if he/DC Studios truly won’t be at Comic-Con, I’m sure he’ll have some cool way of announcing the news. I agree with you about Creature Commandos. I’ve been reading a lot of their comics lately (and the Authority) and I’m excited to see them.

there is a line in superman for all seasons where a kid compliments superman’s suit and he responds, “thanks, my mom made it for me.” i think the chain texture is actually threads made from clark’s mom just like in the comics

I think he’s fleeing to the fortress to get away/think about a current situation happening .. it could be he’s not agreeing how the other heroes are operating so he goes to his fortress to get a clear head and maybe speak with his father

I bet he's "fleeing" because he's having an emotional crisis of some kind and needs some time alone. Perhaps he failed to save someone fast enough or stop one of these anti-heroes from accidentally killing innocents in their quest for justice. Take it a step farther, perhaps the Engineer is the one who failed and she follows Superman to get his advice and change her ways. Huh...huh...maybe

Gunn also said that all the actors who are voicing the characters in the animated DC shows/films under the new DCU will also play their live action versions. SO..im sure we will see Creature Commandos in a live action DCU film at some point.

Funny thing about Nicholas Hoult working out for Lex is that he would have had to work even harder if he got the role of Superman. In an alternate turn of events, imagine seeing Nicholas hoult get totally jacked as Superman. He's such a slim guy it's hard to imagine.

A random note I thought I’d like to mention. I hope that they really drive home how good Superman is. Not only for the people of Metropolis. Not only for the people of earth.. but for his Allies in the JL too. I want Superman to lighten Batman up enough to be more open and honest with his teammates. To trust them with his own life. I want their relationship to be contrasted with Iron Man, and Cap’s eristic relationship. Superman needs to be the wholesome cushion that holds the universe together. What I’m trying to say is that I really hope they capture Bruce’s and Clark’s friendship well (while maintaining who they are at their very core)

I never heard of Creature Commandos before Gunn’s video but I’ve been excited since then! It sounds super interesting. I think I’m most excited for The Authority (never heard of them either). The podcast was so so so good! Before it, I was 50/50 with Nicholas being Alex but after watching it and getting a feel of him and his mindset going into the role, I’m beyond excited to see what he brings to the table. I think we’re in for a great start to the DCU

haters gonna hate no matter what ... I agree with everything you said about Superman logo. I like it, it looks cool and it has not been done in live action (other than 5 seconds shot of Brandon Routh in Arrowverse). I am pretty sure Gunn will post some pictures of suits when they start filming or where there will be any chance of papprazzi getting pictures. I also like how Gunn keep answering to people and confirming/debunking news and rumors. Hopefully Holt's Lex Luthor will be more like Smallville's Lex than what we got in Snder's movie. I didn't really like that portrayal.

We are getting a KZfaq video from DC Studios announcing DCU Chapter One Gods and Monsters new film projects & MAX tv show projects consisting of PEACEMAKER Season 2 & ARKHAM we will even get conformation for Justice League New Frontier or whatever the Justice League film will be titled, then we will understand what the huge terrifying mystery that will be the main focal point of LANTERNS. can't wait hopefully we get it next month during April or even during the month of May.

The texture of the Superman suit looks good to me. I think it looks like woven fabric. The symbol almost looks embroidered. Almost as if it's made from his Kryptonian baby blanket. Maybe it's a suit made by Martha Kent. 😀

Boba - still loving your show ! You're the only one I watch for up to date DCU news. I'm wondering how far along in Lois and Clark's relationship the movie Superman will explore. I realize it is not an origin story - which I am happy about. But I would love to see a bit of romance. So, will Clark have met her but they haven't really connected yet? Or does she know who he is - and their love story is imminent? Or are they already lovers and the movie shows us that? Personally I would like to see the beginning of their story - I think some flirtation and amour would attract many viewers. Don't get me wrong, I love Superman and Lois and the tale of their two boys. But this is a at most close to a two hour movie - so where in time and how much of their love story is told will be constrained. What do you think? What do your viewers think? I'd love to know.

Assuming fleeing means a physical threat is not a sure bet. I interpret it as a mental reset. He’s a symbol but he’s also “human.” He needs moments of self reflection or introspection especially being the bold symbol he is. I’m sure constant compassion for villains who hurt people is hard. Perhaps some heroes are trying to execute a villain (Guy Gardner kills right?) and Superman is the only one to stand between them. And after stopping them he leaves to think.

I think wb shouldn't spend millions on sdcc panel and bring back DC fandome instead so that DC fans from all over the world can enjoy and get excited about new DC projects. DC needs to cater to international fans as well to make this universe successful.

That podcast was great, Holt is an awesome actor and he is going to crush the role of Lex Luthor. Note, Michael had one note for James and that was not to make Lex goofy. I fully expect a fantastic Lex Luthor.

superman could always go to somewhere in latin america, they have some stuff like trafficking, drug cartels etc he can be invovled in, economic issues in some countries etc.

I'm Not going to see this Movie How Many Times have We seen Superman Reboot Movies Where they Show his Origins Him on Krypton as a Baby Krypton Blowing up Kal El Landing on Earth Growing Up with the Kents and Becoming Superman? It's Been Overdone, Not Interested.
