Generally you have to get to know commenters over a period of time, and try to confirm their claims, get a sense of how they write, etc. As for decomposition; since they were bringing dead bodies(and parts) onto the ship, the amount of odor the ship crew would experience would be linked to how long it had been since the crash, and also how cold the remains had been during the time that had passed. A lot of variables. I'm pretty sure it was very unpleasant to be close to this stuff.

If Batouti wanted that plane to go down he would have made far more convenient actions that would fit a mass murder-suicide. The unintelligable phrase at the beginning of the ordeal was thought to be "control it" or "hydraulic". If we assume it to be hydraulic it could change the entire case. If you listen to the VCR you"ll notice the phrase dials down and comes to a complete halt shortly after the Captain enters. Beside that it should be assumed that if Batouti was about to embrace death he would have used other phrases, don't take my Muslim word for it. Search for hijacking transcripts or even Muslim suicidal pilots. The last words are always either "God is great" or "I bare witness there is only one God, and Mohammed is his messenger". There is not one single case that i could find under these circumstances where that didn't happen. Hell, even some non suicidal pilots were recorded saying one of those two on their final moments. I also believe this is why Egypt protested so heavily against the American investigation. Anyway back to the point, the captain asking wether the engines are off, for some reason people think this was a suprising qeustion to Batouti, but if you listen to the recording it is much more in the tone of a order then a reqeust. The captain clearly tries to convey the same message in a different and clear way where he made a small mistake and said "get away "in" the engines" which he almost directly corrected with "shut the engines" in which Batouti replies "it's shut" inmediatly in a firm and stressed tone. Those were his last words. Beside that you also can't disgard the 150 planes that were grounded and i believe 53 of those had to undergo maintainance on the elevators. I think this was a case of extraordinary odds gone bad, but we will likely never know for sure. Have a blessed and peacefull day :).

Not 30 minutes later, I got a call that, indeed, two close friends were onboard, part of the group of retirees wanting to see Egypt. I watch every channel, I retired from an Airline, so I have it in my blood, I know it's Ghoulish but I love a good aircraft carnage video, especially when you have a problem that takes a while to land or crash.

And, the suffering of their families who knew what they went through. One of my friends, killed in this tragedy, was there solely because his good friend, John, asked him to come on the trip. John's wife was going to come, but feared flying and then had a nightmare that the plane crashed and, therefore, begged out of the trip.

They absolutely were in denial. This isn't the first time that Egypt tried to pin blame on the plane itself when the crew did something obviously wrong. Egypt holds their pilots in the highest regard, and will almost never admit to them making an error, much less intentionally killing passengers. Nearly every fatal accident that has occurred with Egyptian pilots has been blamed on the aircraft.

Second that story was told by the asylum seeking pilot in London who has never been at the scene where the conversation between the two dead pilot took place just hours before their death! How could he know about the conversation?! The director of this dramatic movie didn't tell us. Even though he was not fird in that conversation, in Egypt air the chief pilot cannot fire anyone! It's a government firm. At least not without a long bureaucratic investigation. According to the claimed conversation he was banned from flying to the US for the last 3 months before his retirement. The Egyptian government had a hand in this. The story is that one of the military officers who was suppose to be on the plane is the current president of Egypt right now, El SISI. El SISI was suppose to be on the flight and moments before he boards the plane he was informed by someone not to get on the plane and he survived the "accident". The aim was to kill the Egyptian military officers who were training with the US army. No one knows why and anyone who speaks about that flight disappears. There is even rumours that the Mossad is involved because the military officers were considered scientists who were building weapons that could threaten Israel's sovereignty. A real story that actually happened was that an Egyptian scientist snuck parts of a missile undetectable by radars into several flights that would later be rebuilt in Egypt. The Mossad found out about it and as a result the US government took back the missile and arrested the scientist. The Egyptian president at the time (Mubarak) fired the general in charge of the operation. It is believed that the general was loved by the military and that there was connection between him and some of the officers on board the flight.

The final report blamed the pilots for the dive for extending the flaps and slats in cruise but the physical evidence showed the dive was due to a lower rudder hardover and when the gear was extended in a last ditch attempt to save the plane, there was an overextension that ruptured a hydraulic line and centering the lower rudder. Had they questioned the pilots they would have learned the plane yawed several times before the dive. The good news is that this was due to a fluttering outboard aileron, being at 39,000 feet and a faulty yaw damper which wouldn’t have necessarily caused a grounding of all 727s, and there were some other instances of a yaw damper and hydraulic lock causing a rudder hardover but none were at 39,000 feet or had a fluttering outboard aileron. But as you said, every investigation is conducted professionally and with the exception of the Hoot Gibson story, what the NTSB declared happen in over 150,000 reports was what most likely happened.

It's not someone madness, it was shot by rocket, this plane had on it 33 highly trained Egyptian officers that just finished their training camp in US and also there were 3 atomic scientists on the plane. It was meant to kill all of them by a rocket.

Or call for the REAL captain to come back?? They have the CVR and he said NOTHING when that brave Captain fought his way back to the cockpit. He just continued on his insane plan. Those are big freaking clues to me. When you look at all the evidence and pour over the wreckage and can find nothing but some stressed rivets? Come on! The family of the FO and Egyptian government are in denial and for what? Some warped sense of honor? Embarrassment? Pure fantasy world these people live in. In the real world these things can and do happen.

I had to stop watching after 5:00 when all those people talked about their parents traveling on that flight.

It’s very sad. I watched this story before, where it wasn’t revealed so quickly who was at fault, so I knew the outcome and also stopped watching. The senseless death is the saddest part. Second to that is the ego of Egyptian authorities, who, instead of propping up the heroes of this crew chose to defend the culprit.

this is not real, the aircraft was hit by missiles and the captain was an old air force pilot and tried to save the aircraft. he also has three phone calls recorded before the flight that he was talking to his friends and daughter in egypt telling them he got the things they need. usa said it was a suicide attempt to cover up the fact that they shot down the aircraft because it had around 80 military officers on board and 3 egyptain nuclear scientists. please read all the facts

Alaskan airlines the stabilisers became unsecured , nothing the elevators did was effective. Not to mention disengaging the autopilot and deliberately pushing the nose down! How much more proof do you need? What reason is there to push the nose down during cruise? Even if it were an elevator failure, logically you would pull the nose up, he shut off the engines to make it more difficult to pull out of the dive, how much more evidence do you need?

YEP! This isn't the first time a pilot has crashed a plane to commit suicide. Pilots should have regular psychological examinations to ensure persons that have manic depression or are suicidal are not in the cockpit. Especially those grieving the death of a loved one

I believe most modern airlines have two pilots. The occasional jump seating, but is not in control of anything on the aircraft, basically just a passenger. But I also believe the protocol, (at least for flying freight) if one of the pilots leaves the cockpit for any reason, someone else on the flight is to come take their seat until they return. There are to be two people in the cockpit at all times.

I think after what happened with Germanwings 9525. There was a rule mandated that a flight attendant must be at the cockpit if one of the pilots decided to leave the cockpit.
