Incorrect. Hip-Hop and R&B were fusing as early as the late 80s with New Jack Swing. Mary J Blige came way before Groove Theory, and she came out singing on Hip-Hop beats. So don't blame it on Hip-Hop.

Strongly disagree hip hop and R&B are like peanut butter and jelly...we saw it in the 80s, 90s & early 00s. For me my own personal opinion is technology killed R&B....no one knows how to use musical instruments anymore or write meaningful lyrics...it’s a gag...the record labels don’t want to put money into creating meaningful artists...they want social media influencers who happen to rap or sing🤷🏽‍♂️

The only time u can catch good R&B anymore has to be on a "Quiet Storm" or "Sweat Hotel" segment...(if) your city even has it on your radio station line up. & even then they're all golden oldies and/or R&B classics. 🤷🏽‍♀️. This new music all sounds the same. They're using the same (16 beat) & talk rapping, & mumble rapping, etc. Idk,its just dead like he said. Jazz stations barrrrrely exist now. You have to give donations to keep them alive. It just sucks.

Allowing him to pay his bills and make more beautiful music for the fans . Unfortunately that's not the case. There's only a few top R&b money makers and alot of them jump into the rap and pop genre for big checks .

@@MickeyDs14 You're right. People just come on here spitting whatever random nonsense they want without doing any research. Bryce has done plenty of interviews and talked openly about his relationships. If he and Amel had a thing going he almost certainly would have mentioned it by now.

I was at the show in Tokyo in 2010 in Aoyama. I was so hopeful that more music was going to come from Groove Theory. It was a great, intimate show. Amel came off the stage and sang to me!

As soon as the video started, I said he looks familiar. Then it was confirmed when the picture of him from the Movie Beauty Shop popped up. I love that movie and always said that man is fine as heck, but I never knew who he was. Learn something new everyday. ☺️

I watched Beyond The Lights yesterday and one of the intimate scenes was playing a song called Don’t Let Me Down. It was so beautiful that I Shazam’d it bc I wanted to download it. Now today, I’m watching this video and it’s the same lady. Never heard of her and def didn’t know that she’s been in the music industry for that long. 😳🤯 what a coincidence!

WOW... Lol! That ending... Bryce didn't cut no corners, did he??? There's a hint of bitterness in what he said, no? 🤔 I honestly don't agree... Good soul & R&B music is still being made. It's just no longer mainstream...& THAT'S unfortunate 🤷🏾‍♀️, but as long as there are ppl like myself who want & need that kind of music in their lives, it'll NEVER die.
