American R&B singer, songwriter, author and actress Amerie Mi Marie Rogers was born in Fitchburg, Massachusetts in 1980 to a Korean mother and an African American father. In July 2002, her debut single, “Why Don't We Fall in Love”, was released. It peaked at number 23 on the Billboard Hot 100 and became a Top 10 hit on the R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. In January 2005, she released the song that would skyrocket her career. “1 Thing,” the first single off her second album would become her biggest hit to date.

For Beyoncé to rise, they stole Amerie’s whole sound. Ashanti was pushed to the back & Aaliyah sadly passed away. Beyoncé is so TALENTED but she wears that crown unfairly. Just remember’A’ always comes before ‘B’

Short answer: Yes her entire career was stolen by those artists and their camps. Be more specific and say the arrival of Beyoncé suppressed tons of BLACK FEMALE singers. I am a fan of all of Amerie’s work. All her projects are 🔥 especially “Becsuse I Love It”. The label sabotaged her career because they didn’t like the fact she released one thing without their approval.
@MrKingchad221
@MrKingchad221 2 жыл бұрын
Eh not Mya. Mya was her labels first R&B/Pop singer so they dropped the ball. Idk too much about Blu Cantrell. Ashanti you’re correct, Irv said she even was doing the high heels & choreo trying to compete with Beyonce when that wasn’t her lane.
@AmoMe2009

@@MrKingchad221 Moodring album and Bittersweet album both came the summer of 2003 and were unfortunately demolished by the Dangerously in Love heavy album airplay era due to the aforementioned machine. I agree about the label dropping the ball and barely promoting the Moodring album, if at all.

Yep. She had a tough grammy nomination year because it is the same grammy year as Mariahs the Emancipation of mimi album, and as good as that was, both Ameries categories got snatched up by Mariah. We were all routing for her to atleast win the vocal performance category for 1 thing, because if 1 thing was attemped by anyone else, NOBODY could vocally impress the way Amerie did on that track, and back then Amerie could sing that song live just as she did on the recording over and over as we seen in plenty of live performances, though Mariah (as much as we love her) rarely did back then for we belong together which took the category at yhe grammys.

@@danny6988 Not sure what your definition of “stole” is but mine is when you take something that does not belong to you. She attempted to do it to Amerie, she did it to Usher with one of his songs, she copied Beyoncé’s outfit, choreography, and hairstyle for a performance on an awards show about two years ago. She was a fly girl on in living color where they danced to hip hop music doing the latest dances that Black people created. She also had black rappers hop on her records thus emulating the Black community. This was the time when hip hop was not as accepted in the wider community as it is now so she was emulating Blacks then. If you are her fan/Stan it is ok but just recognize the facts that your celebrity/god is a no talent thief that slept her way to where she is. She is only one step above Kim Kardashian.

I absolutely adore ammii!!!!!! I clicked so fast lol. She was slept on imo and definitely people wanted that rich Harrison sound she helped him cultivate. JLO been a theif lol. Get right actually was recorded and leaked by usher, prior to it ever being a Jennifer Lopez song, it was an usher Raymond song. I still keep ammii in rotation, especially the touch album. 4am Mulholland drive and after 4am are also recent works of hers that is amazing! She is one of my all time favorite artists.

Great video! Amerie is one of my favorite r&b/hip hop/pop artists period!!! She has it all. The talent, innovation, and creativity all in one. Seriously, the music industry is trash but sis got her name still relevant in music and catalogue of hits. As a fan, I see through the b.s. and she DESERVES her flowers period!!! Her music and signature sound got used up by other artists too much. Rich Harrison should've been a little more selfish. Music producers should work who they want but in the process find creative ways to create different sounds of music. Amerie pretty much is a legend/icon!!! Thank your making this video! Keep up the amazing work!!!

because they worked with the same producer 🤨 y'all always forget that. every producer has certain sounds. because after that one song she did with him her music didn't sound like hers at all. Y'all can stop lying on this girl and trying to find ways to say she cheated her success. You can have all the talent you want but you need the right label, team, and manager, and beyoncé had it all. Thank you next.

Amerie & Bey both worked with Rich Harrison for seminal songs in their archive. I actually purchased Amerie's albums on CD, I really liked her work with Rich but Beyonce in no way copied her style or anything. Beyonce rose to the top with a mixture of her own talent, her unbreakable support of her parents and dedication. I am happy Amerie is happy, she had some bops on her records.
