My biggest fear seeing cool fan projects is that they fall into the trap of being overly ambitious. Still, this looks great!

This project is incredibly ambitious, so it will take a while, and the final project will either be completely different or kinda underwhelming, but I’m excited.

kill/cure deserves so much love. after their main director left, stuff went incredibly downhill. i admire kheartz for taking up so much of the project, no matter how much he was going to have to do for it. people seriously did anything to help him, and all the voice actors are still the same too even though it took them so long. absolutely WILD to me. i will always adore kill/cure and i'll continue to support them and kheartz no matter what!

And then I’m reminded that the VA who screams "chicken nuggets" is the same VA as Angel Dust from Hazbin Hotel… DAMN 😂😂😂

Let me be frank here: Moboxer was irresponsible in publically announcing a project without a lot to show, getting caught up in trying to perfectly please every last DR fan out there and leaving their staff high and dry without any direction without realizing how hard it is to actually make something so bound up with story even with so few overall assets. They also grossly underestimated the impact of their "humble" script-flipping concept of a Jekyll-and-Hyde gamemaster discouraging killing and seeking vengeance when someone does die. And, of course, taking breaks without so much as a clear peep that that's what one is doing isn't going to make people just forget about you. Those said, I'm glad that they're fine and they meant well and that K/C is in great hands. I don't mind the changes as Moboxer didn't seem to be very good at fleshing out things even with good fundamental ideas. Well, I personally would've kept it known from the start that Hiroaki's dad was Bitokugawa's headmaster as Weeby suggested, and the amnesia only stripping Hiroaki of his aptitude at those myriad specialties since they weren't inherent talents and only trained ones, but the rest is A-OK. Perhaps being a near-master of all trades is what it takes to become a Bitokugawa headmaster and that could be the source of Hiroaki's frustration with why he can't fully master any one thing.

ugh i remember everyone being so hyped about kill/cure back in the day it was great

Some of the changes, like making them older, their titles are "Former", giving a lot of them a tragic event in their past, makes me excited to see them explore stuff like burnout or imposter syndrome, like can you actually succeed in life just because you were talented? It's really interesting to see where this project is headed either way!

I'm extremely glad they gave Maru a more serious and passionate direction towards her activism, although performative activism could have made for an interesting character trait or developing road, I feel like it's kinda something that's a trope so to see serious activism in a character (especially one who's demimer isn't very serious) is kinda like a breathe of fresh air ✨

No ones going to mention how the chicken nugget guy is 25 😂

I just realized that Hiroaki's splash art contains a piece of clothing/reference to one of his classmates The pink helmet = Momoe Soga The megaphone = Maru Yokokume The coupon = Chikuma Konishi The protractor = Naiomi Danjuma The hat = Toya Imamura And I can't really connect anything else to anybody but considering that these all match up I suppose all the objects are a reference to a student the only one I don't know about is the juice box (none of the characters like it or dislike it and none of them are the ultimate juice box so idk????)

Despite me thinking all these fangans have insanely amazing art, I am just really shocked no one can truly replicate the quality of Rui’s sprite art in my opinion. I think that guy really knows how to draw

Huh, I feel like Maru's change is a pretty significant one. Her other characterization could have lent to her being a know-nothing know it all type, now she should be more of a competent person for debates.

Honestly they could get away with selling this as an actual Danganronpa game on Ps, PC and Switch it looks so professional

I remember watching a video about it and thinking it was an actual Danganronpa game in the makings until I looked further into it and saw that it was a fan project. Then it didn't get any updates so I thought it was scrapped and forgot about it (Discovered it somewhere in 2020). Glad to hear it's still in the makings and now I'm re-excited!

Kill/Cure used to be the early fangan gen verson of Edens garden and honestly I thought the project just got fully cancelled but nope, it was killed but is now cured by everyone coming together to finish it (And knowing who the writer for this one is...they're in the right hands)

I would love to see more content on fangans. FYI for Eden's Garden, the creators did just put out a video showing off their villains and mentioned their goal is to get a demon out by the end of the year (I think), which I think covers the Prologue. Kill/Cure was the first fangan I became aware of thanks to your channel, Weeby. I do remember hearing about the original creator leaving and others picking up the pieces so it's nice to hear about their progress. I'll be sure to follow them on their new accounts.

Though it's sad that Moboxer won't be on the project anymore, I am more excited than I was when the first character reel for the project dropped

been really glad for the new team. considering the attention that the original iteration got is what made me decide that instead of ignoring my ronpa inspired ideas.. i can just do them. of course a lot of things sure did happen to make progress not really happen (mostly doctors doctors and doctors this whole past year.) but creating really isnt a race. im gonna just work whenever just like i hope they all do and in an ideal world many stories can be told from this point. very well put together video on all this. really reminds me of seeing you first talk about it years ago.

11:34 I'm gonna be honest, at the time I always imagined Toya Imamura would be the first "blackened". Like it would be some kind of accident or someone else orchestrated it to get the killings started. Especially since there wouldn't be a traditionally "motive". The punishment would be some elaborate Broadway show number. Toward the end a comical piano would dangle above her head playing the punishment theme, but because she's hard of hearing she doesn't notice it until it's too late.

I honestly like the changes made to Maru and Toya's profiles as well, but for different reasons. For Maru, I think the idea of an Ultimate Activist being performative is very pessimistic and somewhat insulting to people who are activists because they are passionate (and sorta contributes to the "performative sjw" narrative) and for Toya, making her hearing thing less of a joke is probably a lot more sensitive to deaf people as having a deaf/hard of hearing character who only brings it up as an excuse is... not good

Most fangames die because in our current capitalist framework, its very difficult for people to gather the resources necessary for their creation, let alone there being any personal ups and downs between the producers, designers, voice actors etc. So it's nice to see when those rare few keep going. :)

I love how passionate this fanbase is! Such a perfect universe to explore in fan games, so many people a good at capturing the style, I hope all these projects and more end up happening! Since we’re all fans, it must but fun to write knowing the exact types of twists and characters fans like. Making a Danganronpa story is actually a lot harder than it seems, so I hope these see the light of day, usually fan projects don’t finish unfortunately, though that’s coming from someone who’s been waiting like 8 years for the Mother 4 fan game 😂

it's honestly so far the best fangame for me. i like the other ones, i like their designs and the concepts, but kill/cure to me looks polished. if you feel like you are looking at an official game rather than a good fangame, you hit the spot; kill/cure did just that for me.

Take away all the official games... 50 Then the one that got their title casually shown in V3... {up until Danganronpa 10...} {None of the fangames I know of feature any of these} 42 Then the season where Rantaro survived {No. 52} {This one would be interesting to play... the set-up would be different... we know who survives this one as we do not know any other characters aside from Rantaro...} 41 seasons. That is my headcanon...
